No, it isn't. If it were, we wouldn't have a difficulty.

One person's 'common sense' (AKA opinion) is another person's prejudice (AKA opinion).

So, Ai...how come all this interest, hmmm?

I think she was looking for a cause she could really sink her teeth into.

Wouldn't it fall into the 'Broadly Offensive' category? ARable.

I am a Broad....I am broad...and there is a lot I find Offensive in SL....problem is, I'm the only one who finds it so.

So the things that offend me, I stay away from. If those things come into my circle, I ignore it.

Yes, kinda sad, I'm a fingers in the ears "lalalalala" kinda person. I've found that I"m considered quite the prude....

*shrug* I agree with the first few posters. AR it. If it violates the TOS, they'll do something. if not, they won't.

I'd never heard of it either til I had a neighbor once who was into it. Only knew then because he vaguely hinted about his plans for his basement, so I checked his profile and saw the word and googled it. Not my thing, but I did notice that he never had a shortage of dinner guests.

The whole concept of SL is based on Snow Crash, for goodness sake! And, by the way, last time I checked SL is not the real world so "real world policy" does not apply inside SL. LL will comply with real world laws (like the ones on gambling), but beyond that, Phillip's vision seems vastly different from yours. Why not go make your own policed version of SL if you don't like the Linden vision based on Snow Crash?

which explains your total lack of knowledge about it.

Common sense is a belief that what you feel is right is correct.

Reality tends to differ a lot of times with that so called 'common sense'

You made the choice to engage in personal attacks. Not me.

Take your own advice. Especially on forums. If you don't like a topic, then leave it alone! And don't you dare call anyone a hypocrite when you, yourself are engaging in the most basic form of hypocrisy there is.

Take your own advice, hypocrite.

If you see something in SL that you don't like, move on.

as far as I know it's also Illegal to take out a pair of Uzi's and blow people away in most countries. but you dont see anyone trying to ban guns in SL or claiming allowing people to shoot each other turns them into mass murderers.
Oh... thats closer to the bottom of the slide... just wait.

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Dolcett is the sexualization of the murder and mutilation of women. It is illegal in most civilized countries. Artwork portraying such acts get the immediate attention of the real world authorities. As they are usually produced by serial killers or those high risk to become serial killers.

Why on earth is Dolcett allowed to continue to exist in Second Life? When things like Age Play have been purged, post-haste by Linden Labs?

I really don't see anything wrong with posting about a subject one finds objectionable in SL, especially if it's a gray area topic seeking resident opinions. This is material I've never heard of before and am glad they did post about it. What I DO find objectionable in this thread is the obvious personal grudges brought to play in here, the public posting of someone elses profile info and personal associations (not just naming names btw), and the slinging of insults. That, and the ensuing gang mentality was totally trite and uncalled for. Why?!? Come on people.. You know as well as I do that not a single bit of all that was even relevant to the subject of the thread. :(
