Advice on Sales!!

don';t upload to the reg grid, got to the beta grid, doesn't take away from your real linden balance

(this coming from someone who always forgets to login to the beta to test textures LOL)

I do mine at 1024

I found I just could not get the detail I wanted at 512

and if my old card could handle it I am sure that the majority of the SL'ers can

Forme it isntabout my computer handling it so much asthe amoutnof downloads i am doing. In australia all downloads are counted when you pay for your internet and they are capped. So the more 1024 textures that i ahve to download the quicker i reach my cap and ge slowed down to dial up speeds....

I prefer textures to be smaller for that reason alone. But also although i can download he 1024 textures they take longer and can be blurry for ages for me

512 is better for everyone in sl, alot of people just dont realise it. I have done all my newer stuff in 512 and they do rezz better. My partner and I have tested our 512 vs 256 textures for our vendors, but 512 are def better. They rezz faster and dont cause as much lag either. Thank you for all your input, i was a bit unsure of the size.

I am planning to do my displays as 512 (sadly was doing 1024's)

but I just can not seem to get the same level of detail on clothing using a 512

Just popping my head up, looks like I have a lot of catching up to do again on this thread. Building work at the main store is going very slowly as we are taking our time with all the details, but am pleased with it so far.

I do have to send a BIG thankyou to Miles for his custom service, the card was totally unexpected by the recipient and your super fast service was appreciated. I cannot recommend Miles' cards enough and when I get five minutes will definitely be posting a review on slx (or whatever they are now called), something I very rarely do. Will also get on touch soon as am more settled about the other idea we discussed as well Miles....may I add you as a friend to make finding you easier ?

Yep it is one of the biggest downfals as an Aussie in SL. Even with a 40 gig download limit, becuase most of my time in SL is spent in a crowded club or exploring and shopping (ie constant rezzing of textures) I can eat through that amount in under a month.

Also the cost of the internet in Australia is FAR higher. I pay 60 a month for what most Americans call a slow speed on the net and a capped download limit.

yeah i know, my partner is an aussie and a few of my sl friends are aussie too. Its great to here another aussie accent when you are out and about. I have to agree with the download limits here, they suck. i pay 70 a month for 20 gigs and 1.5 up and 256 down. If im on sl constantly i go thru it in 19 days. Thats without downloading anything else from the net. trully does suck they need to get a move on and give us better choices or we will fall behind

Ouch!!! try Chariot internet you willpay the same price... maybe a bit less for 40 gig a month....same speeds

As for you Aussie's,

I noticed on a trip to Oz that even in excellent hotels, internet service was poor and sometimes expensive. I was so busy being a tourist that it didn't matter, but it certainly surprised me. It's too bad your availability is so limited. (In the U.S., capping is apparently going to be enforced by more companies in the near future, so the gap in service quality may close as things get worse here.)

Look on the bright side: you get to live in Australia!!!! And you're the nicest people on this planet. Really. I've never encountered so much kindness and hospitality from complete strangers as I did on my trip there. Plus, you get to hear that wonderful accent every day!

thanks for that E. I checked them out, they sound interesting. I will look more deeply tomorrow its almost my bedtime. Though i think I did well today, i have almost 10 new outfits ready to go, including a wedding gown (thats not too boofy) Did some more on the new boutique shop. Now i have to take the photos, photoshop them, put them into the server and the vendors and slex and onrez . OMG whenever will i find the time, lol. I am in filling up the boutique mode and then i can relax and slow down

(other than the spelling, which I noticed on their site was broken English, so guessing English is not their first language) I like how it shows me where the board is located and the person who clicked it. Handy to track and see if they actually visit and then purchase anything

Rhaorth please remind me about this LM exchange thing. I'm sure I remember reading about this many pages back and intended to look into it. I've had a quick look back and can't find it.

Hi all

busy working on a new limited edition skin, just sorting out the last few details, ie clothing etc for sales boards. This will be the first (if it works) of a fae skin collection, the first being snow fae. was wondering if any of you clothing designers have a dress that may work that i could buy a copy of.....all credits will be given and a notecard will come with the skin informing customers where they can purchase the outfit, wings etc to reproduce the look in the pictures. I have found a pair of wings, but if any of you also make wings that will fit the design would much rather use biz network creations and hopefully help us all with sales. So basically, am looking for anything to do with snow and ice, so white or ice blue colours, floaty, gossamer, not too long in skirt, maybe shredded/tattered lower edge. I know the kind of thing I want but it is not easy to describe lol
If any of you have anything that may be suitable, either post pics here or send me the slurl or slx link so I can go check them out.

Morning Amar, wings would be great, unfortunately the tattoo won't work as the skin is directly tattooed already. The skin won't be released until the new build is in place so you have a couple of weeks yet me thinks
