Advice on Sales!!

Like Amar, I would be interested in a cart or small kiosk. Do you have any idea of what type of pricing you would charge?

I finally got off my duff last night, ignored my dolly and some other friends, and got down to offering my first freebie. It had a GREAT response from SLX with 12 'sales' since last night, while OnRez and inworld are still pretty dead. (=_=)

That said, I'm still pretty much at 1 sale per week... Usually my gestures... Which has been just enough for my listing in search, so I surely am getting the visitors I want. (^_^)

Now... All I have to do is get off my duff again and make more stuff! (>_<

well....the roof is gone already, but the rest will stay, building new store above and will then drop it down into place when ready.....but just deleting the roof has free'd up almost 500 prims....for those who never saw it, it was a curved domed glass roof, kind of like crystal palace I guess

@Rha - duh! /me smacks head I was trying to drag the stuff onto the wrong part of the board- it's up and running - silly me

couple of things ive found annoying (these may have been covered as I did not read all 107 pages)

- Old Landmarks in Objects. a number of times I have bought something with a landmark in it, and when I try and use it to return to the store find myself in the middle of someone house. Keep these updated if you move your store!

-No "ress area" in a store that sells items in a object ... its just annoying having to port to another sim just to unpack your bags

-No posing stands in stores that sell Prim objects ..same complaint as above.

-If you list on SLX or Onrez. Please in the item discripion put your stores full name as it is listed in the in game search engine.... I love to peruse SLX while at work, but I never buy off the site. I write down the name and go visit the store in game, but many times people either Dont list the store at all or shorten the name...saying come visit RLI Designs when your listed as Really Lovely Items under search dosnt help.

-Store owners, put your store in your Pick's ...again often on SLX I only have the person's name who listed the items, so I do a people search and am suprised the number of times by people who dont list thier stores under thier picks or classified. This also applies if you use a Alt to list on SLX... please give us some sort of Link so we can find you in game.

why not do it like the dog free space market place, where once a month or once every two weeks stuff is removed, it is announced in the group, and ppl come back first come first served

that way everyone has a chance

I would have gone that route with my little stores but I have a feeling a lot of them would have been empty so at this time, it is month by month for those who choose the free option (if someone else wants a specific store that someone is using as a free option, the one using has to vacate at the end of their time, otherwise they get another month, and so on), and anyone who chooses to pay the rent keeps it as long as they pay the rent

Hi everyone, i must have had the worst day of my life today. I've spent most of it trying to get my new computer to work with no luck so because of this No SL till Tuesday it's getting fixed.

Awwww sorry to hear about your computer Rhianna, hope you get it all sorted soon. If it is any consolation sl is playing up a tonight with tps and stuff not working....welcome to the weekend, so think of all the stress you are saving yourself. Relax with family or friends hun and come back to us soon as you can all revitalised and refreshed.

YES I can finally re-enter the workforce

so, once I find a job, my time in SL will be reduced a lot, I will miss it, but it will be nice to be able to bring home a real paycheck again!

Thanks Rhia and i'm planning to catch up on a little reading lol, my Aunt lent me a load of books ages ago and never got round to reading them, starting on Christine Feehan's Dark Series again tonight . Then onto Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter Series when i've done them. Is so looking forward to this.

Oh if anyone has wanted to look them up but never really got round to it, you gotta the books are so good. This will be my 4th time reading The Dark Series and 2nd reading The Dark Hunter Series lol.

Maybe i should stop after this.

personally I do not like so much space, I would rather the stuff be more compacted, thus less having to wander around (or fly, at least you have fly turned on hehe)

Yep it its the weekend and the conference as well, so it will be a bit iffy in sl i think. I had trouble bringing in my new pics for my vendors. My Partner and I are opening a new shop, its not ready yet still working on products. But rl work and commitments are slowing us down.Plus he is a muscian so if the rhythm gets him he is off creating music, lol.

Just released some new dresses and colours the last few days and working on some more. Given out some freebies but still no sales, oh i sold a swing I had made though, i was stoked about that.

Re reading- am re- reading Stranger in a Strange Land for the upteenth time between SLings .

Im inclnded to agree on the bigness of things, esp when a lot of that space is taken up by boards just saying the name of the store or coming soon.

I would peronslly build a large store, but cut off some of the area with walls until you need that space. Then you can remove the walls to open up space for more tatts etc
