I never really made a goal to cover tier. What i did instead was i got my little 512 plot and then bought more with the money i earned from sales. So, for me - my sales have paid for quite a bit of land, shoes, clothes and hair LOL. Now i make enough to pay my 45usd tier costs per month and to take out an increasing amount in RL profit. I am on target to pull in 600USD a month and that has pretty steadily gone since the beginning. It has seemed to me like the longer i am around and i work at my biz, the more i sell. So i make my goals based on beating what i did the month before. Btw, yest i had my highest one day sales to date and i am quite happy about that. O.o hoely moley.... 600 US is about what I live on a month (poor struggling student and all that) I would be stoked to be pulling that kind of money out of SL hell i would be happy pulling 20 US a month out of SL *giggles*. Right now I put what i make back into SL but I would love to get to a point where I can pull money out of sL _____________________

I am concerned that my announcer script may have malfunctioned- Got a list last night but i was just there and so was a friend and it didn't go off. Oh and feed back on changes welcome of course ![]() I visited. Hope that helps. Ohhh and the use of the design board has a huge impact. I didnt feel like i was walking into a place with several designers. I think a bit of a background for the deisgn board works really well and the matching ones work. You could play with having a neutral toned one for hen you shoot pinks and purples so it isnt on pink. I think that would workwell. Overall looks great ama ![]() Now I just have to slooooowwwllly work my way through boxing up two permissioned versions of every one of my items, then add vendor scripts and notecards to all the boxes on my wall and add the boxes i made OMG!!!!! Heheheh it will be worth it though to offer my shoppers the option of transfer or modify _____________________

Thanks guys- I got notifications so it must be working- let's write it off to me needing more sleep than I get
![]() Thank you E for the review- I had thought of using another different color in a neutral but unless I shoot something using that exact texture I think I may stick with that one for now. Want to avoid messing with the template- not that it is a major do but i guess it's a case of if it aint TOO broke don't fix it ![]() Anyway - you class taking addicts- anyone know when a shoe one may be coming up? I spent about three hours last night on sandals and they suck big time- maybe its the flipper-foot- i don't know- but I couldn't think real highly of them ![]() _____________________

Right now I put what i make back into SL but I would love to get to a point where I can pull money out of sL No doubt that would be the shiznet!! Just to meet tier alone, I'd need to sell $225L per day. This does not include the $3,000L I just spent on animations, or the script that I'm about to purchase to add to my furniture. Right now I'm at the spending $L to make $L point. It's not my plan to open my shop with the expectation of making a lot of $L, but more so a game of success for me. Success for me would be to just make my tier, and maybe enough for a new outfit, hair or shoes occasionally. If I were to ever be able to pull money out of SL, that would be the shiznet, the ultimate success, but for now I'll just hope that I'm successful enough that people will be interested to buy what I make. _____________________

To cover tier and rentals (2 malls) is about 158L per day. I'm covering that easily at this point. I also reinvest sometimes (altho I'm at a point finally where I've gotten pretty much what I need). This week I have purchased the permissions vendor script, and today was a real good day so I spent some on a 32sqm chunk bordering my land because my new addition was in danger of encroaching on it a tiny bit so of course you know I spent more on that 32sq than it was worth... But I don't consider spending Linden on scripts/programs/etc. to be cutting into profits, rather as an exchange of one asset (Linden) for another (the program/script/whatever). And right now, I would say yes, I am earning comfortably...but since this is recent I do not know if it is a trend or if I have just had a lucky patch, that is something only time will tell
![]() Right now I'm hugely annoyed because some lame-o just stuck up an ad tower on the corner of land just outside my shop. Not only is it ugly an eyesore and an obvious attempt to extort money (you can buy this 32sq for only 25000L!!!) I contains depictions of RL people in various types of self gratification which I find offensive, don't want to have to look at and don't want my customers to have to look at either. Sorry, had to get that vent in hehe _____________________

Oh Ralectra! You must AR that! If you don't manage satisfaction that way, maybe you can erect a wall that is transparent from the garbage side on the edge of your property so the customer's don't have to look at that either.
Nasty, just naaaasssssteeeee! _____________________

Anyway - you class taking addicts- anyone know when a shoe one may be coming up? I spent about three hours last night on sandals and they suck big time- maybe its the flipper-foot- i don't know- but I couldn't think real highly of them ![]() Me again - Class Addict ![]() I took NCI's "Introduction to Making Shoes in SL" taught by Afton Shepherd (I include instructor's name in case someone is interested in a particular class...can't find it....and can IM the instructor to see when it will be taught again. Sometimes classes aren't taught for a time if there seems to be little interest.) NCI generally repeats its classes on a regular basis. I have also seen a class on making shoes offered at SLIP by Ashlynn Enoch. And last night I noticed a class on making flip-flops that I meant to take but missed it. ![]() ~ ~ ~ The first thing I do when I sign on each day is check under SEARCH for EVENTS -> EDUCATION and scan what is offered for the day. If I see something I think may be even partially helpful (ie. the build itself is not necessarily something I would be interested in, BUT it includes how to use a menu system to change colors or something like that...I take it to add to my skill set for future builds). _____________________

Then next time they clear the market you'll get a group notice to say that you can grab a spot. Race you for a good spot next time ![]() This sounds like it could be interesting... will have to wait till tomorrow to investigate though now. _____________________

and now I have a question:
in an earlier post I talked briefly about how I try to make a prim skirt with as few prims as I can get away with and still achieve the look. That got me thinking about textures (ok ok I free associate, sue me ![]() Personally I never upload a texture bigger than 512x512 unless it's by accident, then I will delete it, resize it and reupload it again. I will go 256x256 for small signs, etc., my ads are always 512 though. I guess I am trying to determine what the standard is for image sizes...what do you guys use? _____________________

hiya Ralektra, go check out this thread it tells you all about the best uploads for textures.
/109/e6/150360/1.html for small signs I go for the lowest. For my vendor signs i know have resized all to 512. It makes a huge difference in rezzing time. a 1024x1024 is 3mb, so imagine a shop with 10 vendors at that size!! 300mb in texture downloads. _____________________

All my clothes get uploaded as 512- I thought my sign boards were too- but yesterday noticed one at 1024... not sure what if anything to do about that.
