Anyone else in the SL discovery hunt??

I didn't hear of that hunt, but it could have been announced in a clothing group?

The numbers coming through to prticipate in the hunt are hugely encouraging. I am not seeing an increase in saes yet but I am seeing a really good number of people join my group so hopefully that will translate into sales at some point.

Butit is nice to see peole come through and hunt for my gift t least

Yes I am Eclectic....my first hunt, and it's going well. I'm keeping a count of numbers in my two locations, and lots of peoples are zooming through as is expected. But also happily, many people I've chatted to in the shop have been taking time to browse, and are joining the subscription group ("the Eclectica Herald";), and sales have picked way back up after a 2 week slump. It's really encouraging.

Certainly the aim is to see a longer term result, as you said- it's a chance to gather a wider following of loyal customers by showing them what you have to offer and have them want to join your group and return.

Best of luck over your way, too :)

Yay that is great :)

I have put my name down for a few more hutns coming up. I havent done many in the past but the results from this one have been so positive. This was however the best orgaised hunt I have evr seen. There have been so few hiccups.

Yes i have seen some increase in sales, but not as many a the number coming through of course. but in the past 24 hours i have had over 120 peope pick up my item, thats 120 people more with my LM. have had 50 people jooin my group. these are encouraging in themselves.

The people who pickup the freebies may neverbuy anythign from me, but if they are asked where they got my top from they can send othersto my store.

All exposure is good from my position. Certainly doesnt cost me much to have a hunt item out

Well the Home Expo show opened today! I can't wait to get inworld tonight and cruise around and see everyone's stuff! I am really lucky too that 3-Ring pitched in- together we made a nice collaborative effort on the display area - Thanks 3!

This will also be the debut of my Rain Forest World. My thanks to Marcel in being a guinea pig for my attempts at packaging - Hugz, Marcel- Thank you :D. Anyway, its hard to showcase a ting of that size so what I did was make a teeny version with out the 'innards' just to give folks an idea and added an LM to the actual build so they can look at it at their cnvenience. If anyone goes by the show, please check out my display where the world is and let me know your reaction to the advert for it? I would of course like to get it very noticed :) - I don't think we are allowed to do spinny things and other laggy stuff, so I am a tad limited in what I can do to get it noticed.

Oh- and I almost forgot--- already had two sales since it opened :)

Just so eveyone knows- if you go by, try and pick up something from the RLF vendors- the proceeds from those are 100% for the American Cancer Society.

How does the banner look scaled? And -is it still too big for a siggy? I made it smaller to fit here but maybe still too big?

Oh- and hey guys- go check out how the main store is looking. It was a stupid move to destroy it when I did but I think a stupid move that turned out for the best. Looks so much more polished I think. Find now I have more room and need to get busy creating :D

Ama i think the sign loooks squished in your signature, especilly the name of your store.

I hope the home expo is going well for all of you :)

The SL discovery hunt is working out wonderfully for me, my group is growing by around 20 people daily and im making a good amountof lindens a day. If this contnues as it has for the last month or so my store will be able to by me a delievered pizzaa week in profit.

Now that may not be much but hey considering it never did that before.

I have also been creating a TON of new stuff, I have some serious backlog of creations to go into my store hehe

banner looks squished (top to bottom)

As for redoing the store, oh lordy I can relate to that

I get a wild hair up my ass once in awhile to redo the store, and... I did it again

weird part is the build is smaller, 2 stories, and takes up less prims, and still LOTS of room for more stuff (I might actually put out some furniture pieces, maybe even add a 3rd floor LOL)

anyone who is curious as to what I did now, feel free to drop by (link in my sig)

I am hoping that redoing the store inspires me to create some stuff (I did get the prim toe shoes done, with some help from a fellow forum user, for the scripting part, and help from a new friend in world) :)

Amar - Yeah, I think it is a little squished too, and the text is hard to read. How does it look if you keep something closer to the aspect ratio of the the original and just make it smaller? Maybe something like Ralektra's?

Eclectic- Glad to hear things are going so well and that the Hunt has been a success. Man, 20 new group members a day...I can't even imagine.

Amar & Rha - Congrats on the store remodels. I am overdue for a store remodel myself. I considered my Home Show booth a practice in miniature for the sort of thing I would like to do at my place. I'm still in the planning phase, but I am going to have to build it in the sky and then move it all into place because I don't want to close while I make the change.

thanks :)

That was what I did, built it up in the air, then when done, deleted the old store, moved the new one down, then moved everything into place on the walls

(I would have just done an entire store with product in the sky then deleted everything below and moved the new down, if I had the prims, but I didn't)

Oh I was sure it would be squishy- I just took the old one and scaled it to fit in the siggy- I will rework it properly - just wanted to get an idea of how it would look smaller. Thanks for the input guys :)

Awww Rhia. I miss getting cht in with you once a week or so. I had noticed you have barely been on. Sorry to hear work s keeping you busy but I am glad it is tht and not something bad ya know?

Ama I LOVE the new logo you have it is great. I prefer that one to the other one you showed us actually. It is very nicely done

Ohhh folks I have a bit of an idea maybe some of you might like to get on board with. a pick exchange of our main stores. IE we put each others stores in our profiles. From what I understand picks are one of the main metrics for the search all system so the more picks you have the better.

Anyway I have been asking friends etc to add me and have been mulling over ways to have my group add me (without the paid picks thing which i cant afford anyway) buti thought this might be one way for us to go about it.

Thank you :) and i can be on board with the picks thing depending on how many can be had and mayeb if i figure a rotation schedule :)

Im not sure a rotation schedule will work, but maybe if we can add up all the people who wanna be a part of it and how many picks spaces we have free and we work out how to match them up..

I figure the easiest way might be say you offer to put my store into your picks... i would do it in return.

If we each do that for the number of free picks we have or until we run out it should work out fairly for all

we will each get the number of picks we have of others stores in our profile.

So say i take on 5 peoples stores I should have 5 peple who now hve my store in their picks

I max out my pics by highlighting items in my store, so i cant play. But the way i get folks in my group to add me to their pics is i send a notice that if they add me, i will randomly check who has me in there and then drop a free item on them. i havent done this in awhile, but it has worked well for me. you can check who has you in their pics just by doing an all search.

I have a couple of alts im going to use for this if it goes well. They have pretty much empty profiles

I am also considering that with my group too jojo. But the more the merrier i figure
