So- annoucement time peeps-

Since Honey's mall is getting such rave reviews I have now opened a satellite over there with a suitable annoucement in the Shopping Forum.

I have also FINALLY!!!! finalized he Talon Faire Decore Sign/Banner- (I do need to square it up a bit for Prawny - but here it is:

This is in fact the final iteration and I am not planning on doing anything else to it (though I can see where I should have drppped part of the letters down a ee bit- OK - I might do something else, but not much more) Anyhoo- it's bright cheerful and infomrative and I AM FRIGGIN' DONE WITH SGINS!!! :D (Arg- not as much fun as building!)

Honey I have been finding my sales at yoru mall have been slowly picking up.

Im not sure if it is things you ae doing or changes I have been makign with adding new items and getting rid of stuff which i dont see selling. I trying to balance out that at all my mall spaces. trying to work out what sells best where.

I have bee keeping track of what is making sales etc.

By far my mainstore makes the most sales at the moment, however much of that is becuase i have been actively promotig it on a huge level recently. I have been trying to getblogged by every blogger imaginable. I have been buying banners on SLU and have also been using the fashion feeds. All of which have resulted in a huge jump for me

Ama I really like it :)

My only thing would be if you have your bridge on full bright turn itoff for the pic as it loses the angles etc. or if it isnt full bright shoot is at a different time of day do that it has a bit more depth.

Overall it looks great colourful

Well done =)

Retailing selling stuff is a whole other game and you doing this very well. Is tons of content out there, much of it simlar in look and design, and more every day just like there is in real. Promotion, ambience, service and reputation, the intangibles, are what sets the sellers apart from each other, and price itself while important is not all that matters.

I give a For Example. I have a HUD that Ive had since I first start. Is really good. I decide yesterday that I would see if there is upgrade because it sometimes plays up a bit since Havok4 came in. Is not a biggie but is just one of those things ya.

I check creators profile and I read that she is no longer accepting IMs about upgrades and just goto the shop and buy if I want. Hmm! not a good start. Anyways I goto shop. The product is on sale. I got version 2.1 but the sign doesnt tell me what version is on sale nor is there a notecard, or anything else to tell me either. Not that I can find anyways. arg !!! Is only 200L to buy but I dont want to buy it and find is the same one I already got. So o well nevermind, I go and see what other people are offering while Im thinking about it.

I find another place with virtually same product and is a Demo as well I can try out on their sim. Kool =) So I try it and it works great and is functionally the same as my original one without the little glitch. Excellent !!! So I buy it. 400L. Twice the price. And I chuck the other one in the bin.

I paid the 200L premium because of the service that this seller gave me, and because they made it easy for me to make a decision to buy. And not because the product itself was in any way superior enough to warrant this premium all on its own.

Is clear to me that after reading about your endeavours for sometime now in this thread, that you are like the second person in this For Example. You onto it.

And with a name like Eclectic Wingtips people not going to forget you either =)

Wow Tabliopa thank you so much for that huge compliment.

I know I try to do my best to make people who buy things from me happy. It isnt always possible but I do my best to make sure everyone gets what they want or need froom me.

For me creating is one of the things in my life which makes me happy. Seeing my items made from start to finish, seeing how they develop and seeing them finally look good on an avatar brins me huge joy.

A huge part of that for me is having people buy my items becuase they too like how they look and want to own them. It really isnt about money for me so much as having the opportunity to see people admiring and enjoying my items.

I have finally gotten a basic shadowing layer set for the top and bottom down pat. This has been a HUGe thing for me. the ability to have well done shadows without relying on the baking that many creators use of the avie mesh. However it has taken me a long time to get it right but i tink ifinally have.

It is funny . this was way more exciting for me than making a load of sales

E, I seemed to notice in some of your ads a trend towards 'slenderizing' your model a bit. It might have been just the way that ad was, but I was thinking it might have been a response to a few callous remarks made by another person on this forum. So just in case that is the case, I want to tell you that I have an opinion too: do what YOU want, present your product the way YOU want to, and be aware that not everyone on SL thinks that in order to be beautiful, an av needs to look like barbie. Personally I applauded your courage when I first saw your more 'bountiful' model, and my first thought was that in doing that, you widened (no pun intended) your target market.

I could be wrong, it happens a lot, but I just have been wanting to say that.

awwww Ral :) thank you for your concern it is very very sweet of you.

But no. I havent changed who I a or my model based on Pep's oh so childish remarks. I use a variety of models and shapes for my store, one of hich happens to be my more fuller figured self. My most recent ads were of my partner who uses a much more petite avie.

In general i like to have variety with the shapes, sizes, skins, hair etc I use in my ads. I dont thinkthat everyone should have to look the same in SL and I liek that my ads reflect that.

Hehehehe my normal avie will likely be used for my next set of shots as I made the dress for me and I think it suits my avie.

Woot! You go girl!!

Since your Primal Arts satellite is next to mine, I tend to go over and check it out when I'm there. Your items and displays are so interesting and fresh! Had to pick up a belt while I was there which is the FIRST prim belt I've had that actually fits right with just minimal tweaking!!

I know!!! I freaked out cos i sold 10 pairs of octopus slippers yesterday. Now normally I sell maybe one a month of them? Cetainly not that many and a couple of people had got them twice.

I started thinking maybe they were stuffed up and they were too scared or werent worried enough to tell me since they are only L$50.

I triple checked them freaking out.

Finally anothergirl came n to buy them andtolf me her friend works at ETD and was wearing them while at work after another friend of hers blogged me. I was gobsmacked.

Hehehehe anyway it solved the mystery. I was just so suprised about selling so many

woooo hooo!!! That is awesome Czari :)

I try to make my belts easy to fit if i can. Not too many prims around the waist areato adjust.

However I played with texture belts last week and came up with some funk texture belts I am going to put up in the store sometime this week cos I have had a load of people comment they just dont bother with belts anymore cos they cant fit them.

I dont care who buys my things, but the fact is Im being blogged by some of the most well known bloggers, and fashionistas, none of whom use a realistic avie, Im making more sales than I was a month ago, I have people actually offering me free mall space because theylike my stuff and want it in their mall (hehehe that hppened out of the slippers too).

So obviously your 'realism' is rather shortsighted.

But then you dont read the fact im gettng sales. You simply find another way to attempt to upset someone. Sadly for you, you will find that impossible with me.

This is exactly it. Joy and happiness. Happy in ourselves and the happiness and joy we see in others. And when we can help them through what we do, then the rewards come all by themselves. For them and for us.

Is a very young guy, Danny Lee, who is a golfer and he was interviewed on TV before the US Masters. In the interview he was asked how he felt to turn down the big prize money he won in an earlier tournament because he was an amateur. He reply that it didnt matter reallly because he just like to play golf and he want to play in the next tournament and play with Tiger Woods. Something he not be able to do if he took the money.

He also said that his father always tell to just to play golf and the money will flow to him anyways when he plays good golf. He gone pro now and has been reported that he got maybe 200 million dollars in endorsements when he did. A money reward just for being good at what he loves most to do. And if he hadnt got all that money then he would just play golf anyways because is what makes him happy.

Upset? Why should you be upset because I point out that one of your models looks like a pregnant schoolgirl? Unless of course you are concerned about being ARd as part of the new movement sweeping SL to Disnify everything non-Ursula? Or maybe you look like that in rl and dislike the image association from a purely personal point of view? I am not surprised that you are getting more sales. The name of the game is being noticed. In Europe at least, Dove soap and Marks and Spencer have both experienced considerable media success (and attracted even more politically correct and bleeding heart approbation) by using models in their campaigns that are anything but size zero, several of whom have been "hit with the ugly shovel" as my son puts it. It may be sex that sells, but it isn't just sex with MAWs that sells.

Pep (Why don't you make your next leading model one legged; it worked spectacularly for Heather Mills financially.)
