Ok I am seriously thinking about advertising on SL Universe as the prices are soemthing that I can afford and I think it would be worth me giving it a go especially with the special price they have at the moment.

it's clear what you are selling, and the style. your logo is crisp and the ad is clean and uncluttered. honestly, i wouldn't change a thing!

I like the one in your sig here, plus the side version one
not much liking the longer one (then again, it might be because of the shorts pictured on the right hand side, they do not strike my fancy LOL) I mostly like the one in the sig clear crisp colors and good use of the logo and wording (the little sparkles things distract me but it is not an issue) I just was never one for those doodads put between letters, just confuses my poor eyes and senses ![]() Looked closer at the one in the sig, and it looks like some of the pics need to have more edge cleaning as they show the halo from the background they were taken on. From my point of view when an ad is crisp and clean, no halo's etc, it gives it a more polished and professional look ![]() _____________________

The one in my signature is the wrong dimentions for the ads. They have to be a specific size.
I agree about the look of the one in my sig the size is better and makes for a better banner i think but unfortunately i have to make do with that i am given. Heheheh my sig one was just an experiement and that edge shows because it is too low a resolution, however it had to be that resolution for the banner ads, which to be honest was kinda annoying.. _____________________

![]() ![]() these are the two ads. Any critique is welcome ![]() Ok. I like the second ad better. Its graphics are simpler, it's clear you sell clothing, and the graphics are balanced too. Do you sell clothes for larger avs? If not, might want to pick another model. If so, then that's great, because I hear a lot of people with larger avs say they can't find clothes to fit their avs. Just depends what your target customer is. I don't like the first ad, sorry. Your logo is buried in a dark 'corner' of the ad. The clothes seem randomly chosen, the color schemes do not go together well. It doesn't really flow or direct the eye anywhere. The space between "Eclectic" and "Apparel" is too large. For that size ad, all of the asterisks obscure clarity and readability. It is also confusing to some people perhaps whether to include asterisks if typing the store name in search. Also, I can see the cutout lines around each graphic. It looks randomly slapped together. Sorry. I have been blunt because I felt you wouldn't have asked if you wanted puffing up. |

Thanks for the advice about the advertising options on SLU, did not even know that was possible. As soon as both my stores have been moved, I will use those banners for sure. Every way of marketing is valuable after a move
![]() What I did yesterday right after setting up Paradise Found, is putting up a 2k classified again. Even before I am found in search. Simply because no matter how good the stuff is that you make, people need to see it. _____________________

ok after reading the replies so far i did a few changes.
Clarissa: the avie in the second ad is actually my usual avie. Although it is not stick thin like most I do feel it portrays that my clothes are for all shapes and sizes. They are easy to fit to any shape and I try to use a variety of models for that very reason in my ads. If nothing else the larger avie will make the ad stand out ![]() ![]() ![]() Mostly the ads were just cleaned up. I moved the background in the first ad so the logo was not hidden away in darkness. I cleaned up all the shots with the halos around (bloody annoying issue with shots that are only 100 pixels high). I also took out all the axtrixes Any other thoughts are more than welcomed ![]() _____________________

First ad looks a lot better now.
Second ad - maybe it wasn't clear but I liked it as is, including the avatar/shape. My only concern was if you hadn't intended to say what you've just said - I guess I was saying, do all your clothes fit any size/shape. Well if they do and you chose the shape on purpose to advertise that, you succeeded because that is exactly the message I got from the second ad. Which I said was my favorite. ![]() |

So one of the things I am concious of is making sure they are an easy fit for a larger avie and a smaller one (my partner wears all my clothing too). One of my pet peeves is a skirt i basically have to re make in order to fit my avie, it gets to the point i might as well have made the skirt myself the time i have to put into editing it _____________________

I definitely like the side one (the vertical one)
very crisp and clean you cleaned the top one up and it looks much better (but for me, because the shorts do not appeal to me, the ad doesn't LOL) but that doesn't mean it is not a good ad, it just means it would probably be one that I would pass, but someone else who likes that style, of course may not pass it by I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you removed the asterisks, they were very distracting and cluttered looking it looks so much cleaner without them (and I never thought, but yeah, some folks may thing they are part of the name) _____________________

Hehehe we call them singlets. And yes that did helpsome Ah-HA!! The day I was looking at how you have various colors/styles offered on one prim I saw the ad about "singlets" and couldn't figure out what in the world it was. I looked at the ad, looked up the word "singlet" in google, looked at the ad again...and for the life of me was totally stumped. Now that mystery is solved. ![]() Gratz on the blog write-up! I especially liked how it was mentioned you offer both trans or copy items. Since you kind of "pioneered" that in this thread, I'm glad to see that got recognition! (And hopefully more sales!) WTG! ETA: My vote is for the first ad (the horizontally longer one). I personally like both the original and the "cleaned up" one. I tend to be a person who likes things like ~*~ and such but I do see where the second version of the add looks just a tad cleaner. Going against the tide here...not fond at all of the second ad. First one, to me, shows what you offer in greater scope. _____________________

![]() IMHO you need to make the background even lighter on the left side, the logo and even the avatars/outfits don't "pop" like they should. Otherwise I'm in agreement with all the positive comments made so far ![]() ![]() This is fabulous. I don't know if this outfit is part of your day-to-day look, but the look is quite fetching. Your avatar here (including your already-discussed-to-death choice of shape) really sells the "schoolgirl sexy" thing IMHO, whether you consciously intended that or not. Don't change a thing ![]() _____________________

Don't change a thing ![]() Ohh interesting thought to lighten the background. I will definately try that out to see how that works ![]() As for the other comments. That is definately my everyday look, RL and SL (ok I dont wear skirts like that in rl, but the style). I tend to go for what i call college cute clothes. Stuff which has a slightly preppy or vintage feel to it and mix it and match it with weird accessories etc. "School girl sexy" wasnt the look I was going for... but thank you ![]() I love a curvy shape, I know it isnt to everyones tastes but it is me and I realise a barbie avie would probably sell more, but well to be honest most barbie shapes look awful to me and I hate even putting them on to photograph. I tend to use a few shapes for ads most of which are on the at least slightly curvy side. I am greatful to the opinions though, it is good to see it from other people's perspectives _____________________

good job on the background lightening
I figured out why the long one doesn't pop to me like the rest (and it keeps going back to the shorts) the rest of the images in that ad banner are basically the same scale, but the shorts are of a larger scale (which to me off balances it) and it immediately draws my eye to that (and being I am not over fond of them, it tends to give me a dislike for the ad) *shrug* just seems out of balance (could be just me and my twisted thinking LOL) I still like the vertical one best (sometimes, less IS more) _____________________

Anyone ready for a BO-Xchange update yet?
04-09-2009 12:14
So with all the advert revamping going on here, I was wondering if it might be time for the BO-Xchange to be updated to v1.14?
There's a couple of ads already waiting to be updated, and I know I could do with updating mine too. Anyone ready to update the ad they have in the BO-Xchange, or anyone decided they'd like to start taking part? Let me know here or in world and I'll try get it ready over then next couple of weeks. Remember ads are 512x512 square with full perms, LMs need full perms too. _____________________

she had some rl issues that pulled her from SL for a time, she came back but only very briefly and then 'poof' was gone again.
hopefully she will return to us someday ![]() _____________________
