Well update already.

The dude sold his sims to a new owner it seems. Without informing the renters. Another lowlife of SL...

Just dropped the new owners a notecard, maybe I can work something out.

:( i'm terribly sorry. i have a few spare prims at my mall - i'll make your space bigger and carve you out a landing point until you relocate, if you so desire.

pretty sucky!

(P.S. contact Desmond. he is trustworthy and has lovely lands at great prices)

Hiya 3Ring, thanks a lot :-) but not needed at the moment. My main furniture store is not hurt by it, that land is from a very good Estate.
It's only the plants store. For that I need at least a quarter sim, but for the time being I will just leave it as it is and research my options.

Might be time to think bigger anyway :-) Could have done without the scumbag though....

OK-- how am I dong so far? I moved the letters around a bit and added drop shadows to them to bring them 'out' a bit. I also darkened the space behind them to differentiate the corner...

I agree with Marcel, make the words bigger IMO.

And Marcel, I'm sorry about your plants store :(

Have to say I agree with Ralektra and Marcel too. You have plenty of space available to play with.
I think the T, F and D are too fine at the moment.
Just one other thing. Any reason why didn't you keep the original Talon Faire logo, but just add Decor to it? That way you keep a "brand" theme even though your products are different. You could always keep the style but change to colour scheme. Personally I always liked that logo.
Btw, your BO-Xchange ad will need to be square.

OK :) I will make the lettring bigger and centered more i think - I got tired of the pink organza, Prawny, and though I really did like the original logo, it was more frilly-fashiony than furniture/decor to my eye, I guess. I do understand and agree with your point though- I think though if I start doing clothes again at some point, I wd try and use this as more serious sophisticated color scheme than the fluffy pink which seems married to the logo in my mind although I really liked the logo itself. Not sure though really... decisions....

ETA - I know about the squareness- just trying to get the elements in place :)

How about just using the same typeface for the new logo as your old one and scrap the old colour scheme?
The new one you're using is "Shelly" I think, doesn't quite pack the same punch for me. The old one was a little more gothic in style and more original.
Logos are such a personal thing though so you should definitely go with what you find most pleasing.

Come on Rha, what typeface did you use?
I'm sure there's a copy out there somewhere for you Am.
It's probably tucked away in your PC already :)

I don't remember and never kept a copy of the logo after I sent it to amar

I would have to grab a copy of the old logo and then do a hit and miss with my fonts to find the one I used.

and in the state I am in these days, that would take awhile(not gonna get to it today, as I have a dr's appointment and not feeling up to par)

I like the order of the words now amar, just (as others said) make them bigger

(if the ad needs to be square for the ad thing, best to work on a square, then there is no moving stuff around to fit later)

thanks amar me too

44 years and I hardly ever seen a dr, until the last 3 years, twice in the hospital, now I feel like a walking drug store, and been poked by needles more than I want to count

now I need to get a physical, then next week, yep another dr visit to test the ol heart... something called a stress test or something like that.

Sorry to hear it :( Good luck!

Re the logo - found the old email where you sent me the whole file- it is Parchment for Talon Faire and Edwardian for everything else.

Thoughts and comments on color? Not real sure I like the color in it.

Amara, the gray background is totally uninviting. Why don't you set those objects down somewhere pretty and take pictures?

better yet .. put in front of a full bright white background then use PS to clone into where you want them.

Your logo could be more dominant.. but youre getting there ^^

Cristalle, I have purposefully been keeping the dull background so as to not distract from the items. Look at eku's - to be perfectly honest, I have been trying to duplicate the feel of her advert without copying it of course. I like the simple, stark elegance of it though mine persists on looking cluttered - Maybe it's the lettering? I know I have to re-shoot the pic anyway (the silly bamboo plant was not properly rendered when i took the pic- Back to rethink this- I also don't like the effect making the picture square had on the dome - of course that was not to be the final image anyway- just wanted an idea of how it wd look squarish.

Thanks guys- I will be back boring y'all with more in a bit :)

Please take my words as they are meant to be, helpful.

When I look at your ad amar, I can not really tell what I am looking at.
By that I mean the items do not jump out at me, I can not see details, etc.

I look at the table and chairs, and it looks like someone drew them with squiggly lines, no details.

The grey background is very dull looking.

you mentioned eku's

look at their's, white back ground, colorful stark items showing detail that jump out at you.

yours looks like grey on grey, no color except for the bridge, water, and the words.

Keep at it, do not be afraid to try new things, new ideas, maybe just use one item, one that jumps out at people, or arrange them in a way that they work together.

For instance the bridge with the table and chairs, bring those closer when you take the pics to get details and use them together either on a white background, or photoshop in a nice scenic background so people would get a feel of how to use the items.

Make the ad make someone want to come to your store and buy the items because they looked so inviting in the ad, they could not resist. right now, the ad just doesn't do that, and I think it is the grey on grey colors.

Again please do not be offended by my words, I am hoping they help you to think outside of the box.

(or just ignore them, your choice)

(I like it when people critique my work, it gives me ideas and insights I never knew or had before)
