Hi guys. I don't know if anyone is interested, but Cristiano Midnight, who runs SLU, is running a special on ad space on the site.

If you buy a top banner for 30 or 60 days, you get a side banner for free. I was running a banner over there before the sale and he graciously extended the offer to existing advertisers for the term of their ad. I can't say for sure what my exact return has been on the ad, there are just too many variables to know exactly what impacts sales, but my sense is it has driven some new shoppers to the store (based on sales holding steady even though I've not had a new release in awhile). I think of ads like that as boosting brand identity anyway.

Also, if you are unfamiliar with the site the ads show both at SLU and Snapzilla.

No pressure, I just thought I would pass along a heads up. :)

Well funny you ask today, since I just started my own homestead sim. Since 3/4 will be plants, and I keep a keen eye on scripts in the part that will sell my furniture, I am convinced that this is perfect for my needs. After all, plants need a lot of space and hardly prims (well, my plants do ;)).

Since 15 minutes ago, Paradise Found is up and running again! Will take a day to get back in search, will take a bit longer to get my picks back, but I will get there.
See my profile (picks) for a landmark, as I do nt want to use this thread for blatant advertising.

3Ring: great Logo!! As soon as the person who designed the new ad for Sampireun Design is back in business, she will design a new logo for Paradise Lost as well, I hope she does as well as you do :-)

Just did just that 3ring, and mucho appreciated :-)

Dammit what a work! Just did the 1/4 sim with the plants tonight, still 3/4 to do. Next is probably Sampireun Design, so my furniture store can run at 2 places for a week or two. And then another few hundred plants to create :-)

That is cool E

It is nice to see people enjoying what they do and knowing that you helped them along the way.

(well at least I hope I helped with the tank top I sent with layers for the wrinkles, hopefully it was a useful learning tool)

don't remember what you called it, we call them tank tops.

:)

I still do not seem to have the desire or motivation to get back into creating, and I told myself I will no longer force myself to do it, and I am not!

But... RL... GRRR I am trying to do a gift for my sis in law for her wedding, something hand made, and it also requires some drilling with a tool similar to a dremel, well lo and behold, the one I have is worn out, and now it heats up the bit and the shank, to the point I burned my finger when I tried to take the bit out (OUCH!)

so a RL shopping trip for me, maybe tomorrow, to pick up a dremel tool.

UGH I hate shopping, but I hate a burned finger more LOL

But actually I have to thanka good friend of mine Kitty who spent hours with me going through how she makes things in SL, and showing me techiques I never would have thought of or known how to do like overlay layers and bun and dodge tools.

I am sooo loving making stuff it really makes me smile

that was how I did the one I sent you, the overlay 50% grey with burn and dodge (thought I told you at the time, however telling and showing are totally different things heh)

THAT was it, singlets LOL
I was so confused when you asked about me making a singlet LOL.

funny how we all speak english, but we all speak it so differently.

I love the diversity of our world, both first and second!!

yep the one you sent me was like that :) but it was also all baked down so hard to knwo what you did and at the time burn and dodge meant nothing to me what so ever hehehehe

It is loads of fun exploring how to create things andcreating clothes I want in SL. There has often been stuff I have looked at and said i like that ut i wantit in this colour with smaller buttons and a different collar style or soemthing....

now i can go and make that.

The sale of my clothes is to be honest way slower than my accessories, but I guess that is just cos the market has so much to choose from.

But I wear everything I make so I cant complain, making a top and uploading it in 10 colours is usually cheaper than buyign a top in one colour at many stores

that's great, Marcel! w00t!

and E~ CONGRATULATIONS! very very cool. you make great stuff! your creations are truly original and certainly not anything i would suspect you got from another person's average templates. i just love your store! :) the Angels Capris are darling. next time my little sister is on, i'm definitely taking her shopping there. she will love BOTH those outfits!

(oh!- and thank goodness we can manipulate the LL templates. that's how everyone learns at first, and it's great that some beginner quality enhanced templates are being passed around for others to use as a visual aid when breaking out on their own)

ah I was thinking I sent it as a psd, sorry must be mixing it up with someone else :(

But I am happy to hear you have learned to make stuff, your stuff looks good, great start.

(I could tell they were not made from the one I gave you)

Ummmm i didnt use anyones templates... they were made from scratch.

Ages ago before i considered making clothes Rha gave me a basic singlet with some shading on it to use for a pair of jammies i was trying to create but thats the only time I have ever used anyone elses work in my clothes.

A good friend of mine sat down with me and walked me through how she creates clothes starting from layer one. She sent me a copy of her jeans to see how the layers went together but i havent used her jeans as a basis for anything except a pair of pants we worked on together for a fundraiser :)

Practicing lurking but this needs posting -

We take inspiration from all over- Rha gave me my first logo, Eku has given me one, Prawny has too as has 3 and several others - all trying to help me get the right personal look for what i want.

I just want to put this out here because we try to help each other out with pointers and guidance and it is all so good! Makes it hard to pick just the right look from so much genius :) Anyhoo- glad it is working out so well for so many :)

heh I tried the practicing lurking, it doesn't work :p

how is the new logo coming? I seem to have lost the thread it was being posted in.

I like helping people, but even more enjoyable is seeing them step outside that box and try things themselves and it is awesome seeing the results

I especially like helping new people with building, especially on voice where you can hear them and the excitement and "hear" the light go on as they grasp a new way of doing something :)
