That is really cute and whimsical, 3Ring! Oh, and if I didn't say it before, I LOVE the pictures of your Caledon build with the vine staircase.

Thanks for the kind words! Getting that box done took years off my poor avi's life. The next one is going to be a bit simpler-- baked goods!

Because I do not have any stress in my life- I destroyed my main store on the days before the Home Show. My latest project is my Rain Forest world that I hope to release with the Home Show-

What's your favorite rez helper? Never have needed one before. As a consumer, I like the one that is a little box with handles sticking out the top- no clue which one that is- help please :) Thanks.

My main store was looking more like a flea market and less like an elegant shop. I had not done a good job if staying organized. So I picked up everything, bought a new prefab and am arranging things now :D

Thanks Ralektra! I just picked up the Builder Buddy on the advice of a very sccuessful builder who recommends it for smaller things such as my Rain Forest World. I have peppered a few pix of it in various stages on the Undying Thread.
Here is a shot from above:

This is my SL album so it's not just business. You will find my views of SL and those I have been fortunate enough to have share it with me so far.

All of those new releases look wonderful!

Amar, I was thinking you had Skidz Primz by the description?

Ralektra, that gown is GORGEOUS, so feminine and unique.

I admire all of you so much. I tend to be a perfectionist, so to release even one simple little thing, by the time I build it, photograph it, make an ad with Gimp, set the item for sale in my shops, in the forum classifieds and SL exchange...that can take days or longer. :(

E, you mentioned having a template for your ads. I'm going to work on that to make the Gimp part more streamlined.

Does anyone have any tips to share on how you've streamlined the creation to customer process?

As for me, I'm not nearly as far along as most of you. But I need to start working as I currently have a second store rent-free until the sim "officially" opens. This one is huge - 3 floors. It will be great for me to have a place to put new items I create with no prim limit or rent (for now) to see if I make enough to stay or buy my own land again. Last week I was offered a 3rd rent-free satellite in a new mall opening by a friend I have known on IRC for years.

My newest creation would be one of my ceiling fans textured for a gilded look - Victorian, antique, etc. I created it for the new store I am in. I haven't photographed it yet. Most of my products average about 50L at this point, although I keep being told to charge more.

The Home Show is going ahead? I sent an IM to the organiser and never received a reply. I figured it would be good advertising for our mall, but I assumed that since I never even got an acknowledgement, it had been cancelled. Oh well.

I just made and released some simple rustic furniture and recently also made some bed covers that come down all the way around the bed and fold down...these are to cover up the existing bedspread and not for covering up av's as my other blankets do. ive made these in fur which seem to be selling well. i tend to find textures and then get ideas on what to apply them to. lately ive been using alot of distressed and weathered textures and applying it to items i already have.

Czari the biggest thing I do is having th template. It literally takes me around 10 minutes max to do an ad up now, from photograph to the ad (though i normally do bulk photogrphs then bulk ads now then releae them over a few weeks).

The other thing is doing multiple boxes of permissions at once... i line them all up, shrink the sreen down to 1/2 the size then on the ther side i run a tv show i like and just sit there ticking boxes as I watch the show. It makes a verrryyyyy monotomous and booorrriinggg task go more quickly.

Generally though I do more work than most clothing designers so my photographing, bxing etc takes a lot longer (i tend to do most thngs inat least 6 colours and with copyAND transfer permissions).

The other things i have started doing is dooing ll the layers for a clothing piece when i first upload it so that I dont spend a heap of time doign that when im in a boxing mood cos i tend to do more han one item at once with the boxing.

This is my latest design. it isnt for release yet. I only finished it two days ago. It also comes in a shorter length as a normal sweater which will be sold unisex.

I did this outfit for my partner who adores turtlenecks and sweater dresses, so i combined the two for her.

Expo

Well I've been busy getting ready for the Home, Garden & Patio Expo.
Was one of the 1st in today to set-up and I think I've done, bar a few tweaks all being well.
Nearly had a fit when I managed to delete the store at the last moment, but managed a swift recovery. Marcel was there to witness my cock-up, lol ;)
Looking forward to seeing everyone there :)

outside of casual conversation here in the forums, i have NO idea when/where this expo occurs.

how did you get in to participate? does it really all go to charity? how do i find out more about this?

if i was invited or given info on it, i apologize for overlooking that. i may have already received info, and tossed it upon log in.

the caledon group is evil with notices. i don't even read them, i just delete them. i get about 5 per log in it seems. so if i received this info upon such a login, i probably dumped it without realizing.

Too late now, 3Ring. I think it's taking place in the next week or so. I did IM the person organising it some time ago, but got no reply back whatsoever, so I assumed all the places were taken. I also think I'm going to stop reading this thread for a while, because I suspect I'm not going to enjoy watching everyone saying what great sales they had during the expo :(

i still need to know where/when. i want to go see what is there, and probably shop! :D

but re: not making sales while they do? if it helps, we can feel sorry for ourselves together, Skell. LOL
