The store looks great E - I like how the color of the flloor and the color of ur banner are similar. Has more of that subtle branding effect.

Well, time for an update from me I guess.

A while ago I finished the plats section of my sim, so now 3/4 of the sim is covered in plants. Looks fabulous and they do sell as well ;) Funny is that not all people realize the plants are copyable, yesterday I refunded a customer 1000 linden he spent too much on buying the same plants several times.

As for advertising, I have withdrawn the 2075 linden classified for the plants store, saving myself quite some cash. And the difference is hardly noticable, even tough the classified ranked well. Yesterday wasmy best day ever and no classified running!

The furniture store has been quiet (not in sales), I hardly released new items in the last 6 weeks. First the plants had to be created, then I worked on a new version of my CLP script. Yesterday I finished version 2.0 with lost of new functionality! Still doubting if I shall release it to the public, orjust use it myself in my items.
So at the moment, I am building new items, and today I hope to release the first new stuff with the CLPv2.0 script inside.

Not much more news to tell :D

I was at your plant store last night. It is huge but well organized. I ended up flying around to find the palm trees I was looking for. You might think about a directory to various types of plants. Your plants are very nice.

Hiya Tania, thanks! Just checked my transaction history and apparently you managed to find them, great :D

I do have a directory present, but not too specific. As far as I know, the palm trees are a separate section but I could be wrong (not in-world at the moment). Per quarter sim I have 3 categories, might check if I can make more of those. Because indeed, it is pretty huge :)

Update:

There have been 2 search index updates since my NPIOF av took a classified and it still doesn't have an html page. I'll give it one more update (tomorrow) and, if it still doesn't have a page, I'll take it that buying a classified doesn't cause one to be created.

O.o my store is now on page 2!!!! for the keywords accessories AND vintage. I hope it has some affect butmy sales sucked over night (today).

Anyway im pretty proud just to have it up to that point right now. There have only been a few more picks added since yesterday so the increase by that much for one or two picks is pretty amazing (now i know why people do those pay for picks things hehehe)

Keep going with it, E. You need to get up into the top 2 or 3 for it to make a significant difference, and you can do for those keywords.

E the store looks great!

Question:

I decided I want to have my av (or an alt) model things in the store. I made the pose stand, and it works, but here is my question.

With the bot rules now, is my 'model' legal? Do I need to register it somehow with LL so it doesn't count for traffic?

My guess is it would be legal, and when they come out with the ability to flag it as a "bot" then you would either choose to do so, or not. At that time, I would think that LL would consider it being illegal IF it is doing nothing more than modeling and IF they took the time to check the IP logs and see it is your own alt account.

(I used to have bots/models, thought about bringing them back, but decided to wait to see where this new bot rule goes)

I would say one alt posing as a model, no big deal, get 10 or more in one store posing as model, well, I would say those are traffic bots in disguise LOL
(that is of course, just my opinion.)

Yes, it's "legal". Apparently Jack told someone that such things as models would need to be on their own parcels (e.g. a 16m parcel) so that they don't add to the main parcel's traffic, but nothing has been said officially about that. If they do decide to make that official they'll tell you personally or announce it.

I told Jack about my store model bots and about the castle guard bots, in a notecard which he did receive, and he hasn't told me to cut parcels for them or to do anything different with them.

i would say an alt is an alt- it can walk and communicate and shop. :)

a bot is an avatar used by a program that does not necessarily allow it to move within the grid, talk or shop.

i think "employing" an alt is very similar to paying for a camper, which is allowed. just because no $ transaction takes place doesn't mean you can't employ yourself within your own store. i don't recommend employing 30 at one time, however. :p

Update:

There have been 3 All search updates since my av that took out the classified, and it still doesn't have an html page that is recognised by the search system, so I conclude that taking out a classified does not cause a NPIOF av's picks to count.

ok ya'll if you have not yet joined the Designer Sales Network, do it! I've been stalling around about it, because I wanted to make sure it worked before I did it. Well I went and bought my starter kit last nite, set up a dropbox for guy clothes and one for girl clothes, dropped one thing in each and a little bit ago I got a note from a blogger to say they blogged me :)

I'm stoked, what a great way to get stuff out to the bloggers!

Here's the blog if you want to see it :)

YAY!!! Ral!!

I intend on joining up with this sometime soon. Right now I am attempting to get my newest unisex clothing out. I have a huge backlog of like 15 items in my inventory to release hehehe.

I really like the idea of the network but I do wonder if it is better to wait a bit to hone my skills a bit more. In the past month my stuff has improved dramatically i think. When i look back at what i have released and what i have in my inventory to release...

Given that the network only ever gies you one shot to impress a person (once they have been given a gift from you once thats it) I want to have a good standard before i put my name in you know?

blogging is good and all, but did you notice any increase in sales or people visiting the store?

I paid to join the fashcon and at least with that, folks get something everytime you send something out, what they decide to do with it, well that is another matter heh

with this one, the only reason I hold back (and it is a lot cheaper than fashcon) is that one time shot thing... I do not like that. What if the thing I have in there, doesn't interest something, but say something I do next week would, I lost that potential customer because I only had one shot at them.
(sure one could argue I never had a shot at them to begin with heh)

also my guess is that they probably have many of the same folks that are in the freebie groups, notices groups, calling chairs/mm boards etc groups.

I hope it does work out for you, and am interested to see what your results are down the road, please do keep us updated.

I think right now the thing that is most important for me is to have people look at my work and say that it has merit. Because I always question my own work. It is hard to compete with photosourcing (when the photosourcing is well done) because hand-drawn tends to have a bit of a 'cartoony' look sometimes. So it always makes me feel good to have someone tell me they like my work :) As far as 'business', it keeps getting better so I have no complaints there...will it grow? I dunno :P

Oh, I got blogged 3 times today all together weeee (well one of them isn't done yet, she sort of semi-interviewed me in world but nothing is up yet), 2 of them directly connected to the DSN thing, and one freebie blogger who just happened to stop in for my Midnite Mania.
