From: Phil Deakins The traffic number is the number of minutes that avatars have spent on the land in the previous 24 hours measuring period. I.e. avatar minutes on the land. They are updated daily so, with small numbers like that, they will fluctuate wildly. Thanks Phil, that makes sense now it also explains how bots did so much. Do you know if a sky box still registers on the traffic count? (being so high up etc) I know the traffic numbers matter on the "Place" search, which I use mostly because of Aussie net being to stuffed to use the "All" a lot of the time. I've read through the sticky on maxing out ads, I'll start hanging in this thread too, as I am just about to start to try and sell some stuff I made.

Bots still work just fine and LL aren't yet implementing the policy - after well over a month of it being in force. So far the policy is just hot air. The height (elevation) doesn't make any difference - they still count for the parcel. Good luck with your new selling adventure

just a quick update on sales....i dont know whether it is the DSN thingy or the cone but my sales have been up since i started using them. once the money runs out that i seeded the cone with, i will discontinue that for a bit and see if it has an effect.
btw...i keep getting tons of requests for my marketing classes in world...should i start a new series? i stopped for awhile because of rl work but now am about ready to have more time.
thanks guys! the support and encouragement from this thread ROCKS!

my sales have also been up a bit these pst few days, noidea whether it is dure to the OMg hunt, the DSN or my latest new releases.
Im also thinking about looking at sponsering another club with my store ow i have items tha suit guys. I was thinking about looking at a straight club, but to be honest i have no idea whats out there but that is on this weeks agenda. It is a chance for me to get my name out there just that little bit more

I have always shied about from sending stuff to bloggers for fear of being a pest, but now I am wondering if I have hurt myself in that process....
how do you even decide who to send stuff to, and do you just say, hey here is some stuff, hope you blog it, love your blog by the way!
(because there are some blogs I read that I do totally love reading)

I guess this next question is fitting for this thread....
how do you guys deal with it, when you just can not seem to decide what you want to work on, and end up having a dozen (or more usually) things going at once.
I lately, seem to be jumping from idea to idea to idea, getting stuff started and often completed, but not photoed, made into ads, boxed, and put for sale, it tends to sit in the inventory while I end up working on something else that caught my mind's eye.

I have made about 7 or 8 fireplaces trying to get the perfect one. Their bits are scattered all over my skybox and sometimes deleted in a neat phase, same with my roof. I think it's how art works in people, it's not generally neat.

Heres exactly what i sent to the bloggers this time (some get more personal notes, esp the ones i know reasonably well or the ones who have blogged in me the past) 'Hi My name is Eclectic Wintips and i just wanted to drop some items on yuo that you might enjoy for your blog. I have been creating clothing now for around 4 months and I have really found a passion for it and really want to share it with others. These are just a small sample of some of the items I sell in my store and I really hope you enjoy. blah blah info on what im sending them... I really hopeyou enjoy wearing my items as much as i enjoyed making them If you have any questions or would like to blog soemthing else from my store please feel free to IM me anytime. thank you for your time Eclectic Wingtips" I think if youare polite and dont go in with the expecation of being blogged whatever you right will come off right. Most of the bloggers reallyseem to appreciate it and send me great thank yous back. I have a couple of bloggers who have blogged me numerous times and those people ill often just drop random stuff on wth a quick IM saying i hope you like it rather than a specific folder i make up for bloggers. Oh one thingto do is if your sending stuff to several bloggers chenge the items up or change the colours so you dont see the same outfit on several blogs hehe As to the flitting thing I wish i knew Rha. I currently have 19 things in my inventory whichhave been made and need to be released into my store at some point. I have an assignment dure this week but i have two ideas inmy head of new items and really wanna make some more but know i cant. I usually set aside a day or so a week and instead of making new pretty things i get dressed up and take photo shot for mystore. I have gotten it down to a fine art and can do the ads for around 6 items in up to 10 colours in around an hour and a 1/2. The boxing up i usually do while multitasking. I will do it while i watch a tv show or a movie as it makes it less boring and makes the time go more quickly. Boxing up items is my most hated task

I'm a very linear thinking, thus creator. (I have more of a teaching/organized mentality and detest multi-tasking.) Therefore, I make a list: 1. Make this 2. Photo shoot 3. Post new item in classifieds; XStreet 4. Send out notices to group & appropriate designer groups. Rinse and repeat. I have one thing going at a time, but my list includes the next item I want to make, then the next. I get emotionally rattled if too many things are going on at the same time. I don't read blogs...have no real interest in them so "assume" my customers won't as well. When I get around to it, may try sending an item or two to a blogger, but it's not high on my priority list. Things are moving along at a pace that satisfies me...so all is good I will be participating in a gridwide Steampunk Hunt in September. It is the first of its kind ever done to the knowledge of the planners, so I'm gearing up for that (no pun intended). It will be the first hunt in which I've participated, so will be an interesting experience.

I am usually working on a number of things at once, but I tend to stop from time to time and finish everything I have going. Once it's done, then I'm like Czari. But its funny because from time to time I will release like 5 things in a week. But I might have been working on them all for a month lol

I am still having issues with the DSN Kiosk- I am about to IM the creator and/or message them from their website- I am getting this error measage -"Designer Showcase Network Kiosk B: llDialog: all buttons must have label strings". There were no setup instructions for the kiosks, that i am seeing and i have read all the included notecards several times - maybe its a hiccup in the system...

it is great reading this...i work totally differently. i make something...finish it...put it out for sale...done. i cant do a ton of things at once and take them into inventory cuz then i forget i made them...lol. i dont use a workshop so i dont have a bunch of things laying around. i usually just build in the middle of my store so i can say hi to people also. then of course there is no way for me to leave a mess of unfinished stuff. kinda puts the pressure on me to finish that way too.
good work E...love to see that you are having so much success!
on a side not...i have a funny thing happening in my store...there is one person who keeps buying one color of blinds...tons and tons of them....over a period of days...im tempted to send that person a note and ask what they are doing...lol

I think with things like furniture it is easy you dont need to make up the ads or box it up etc unless your putting it on xstreet... once the creative stuff is done you are pretty much done. I tend to just prefer the creative stuff, hence the bloody 18 things in my inventory i sooo need to put out for sale. hehehehe as type this im working on another item Jojo i have odd things like tht too. Ihave this one girl who comes in most days and buys a single item. I suspect maye she is camping and saving up for items each dayor something. but i have kind of come to expect her name on my list of transactions, it is cute. I must send her alittlegift sometime. Ohhh and 3 ring if you pop your head in i finally put out orange stuffs

I'm the last person you should ask. I went up to my building platform a while back, fully intent on creating a sleek, silver, futuristic skybox. I ended up with this: ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/skelldagger/3151917508/sizes/o/) The only similarity is the shiny! I started work on a curved corner, then as I looked at it, I thought, "Hey, this would make a great firebasket" and before you know it: one Arts & Crafts style fireplace. I just go with the flow
