No, they just take AR away.

Seriously. In the last few weeks the forums have gone insane over this broadly offensive thing. And Linden Labs has just sat back and not come out and clearly defined broadly offensive. I doubt they will, but really... Can't we just drop this already? Keep sex in the bedroom, as it were. Be normal out in public, wear clothing, behave. Just like we do in real life. If you want to be six, then be six, but don't have sex. That's perfectly fine. It's all a game right, just playing a role. I know you aren't really six. In real life we're all supposedly adults, so can we stop whining about this and get back to the business of having fun?

Then again, I am well aware that everyone is probably getting as much enjoyment as I was out of stirring the pot over this thing. It passes the hours for me, at work, for sure. But c'mon... I doubt anyone is going to get banned over BDSM, as long as they aren't doing it in public. There are plenty of sims for that sort of thing, private property, ect.

Just let it go. Stop ARing people for retarded reasons.

I agree with your posts 100% Broken. Nice to hear a voice of reason amongst all the drama.

Did the OP ever state whether her playground was in a (PG) or (M) region?

If it was (M) I would probably be a little more sympathetic with the landlord's worry.

If it was (PG)... well, I'd be a little less.

Mature or PG I don't think should matter Rusty. A lot of posters here seem to have gone off at a tangent flaming Alicia for being a witch hunter. A similar thread flamed Voodoo to the point he's deleted his post.
I cannot see any reason for banning a resident for building a playground or banning an avatar for playing a child. The rules are adamantly clear but nevertheless get misinterpreted over and over again. It's ageplay DEPICTING MINORS IN SEXUAL ACTS that is Ar-able and bannable.
Well, of course there is a reason; a landlord/sim owner has the power to inflict whatever view they hold on their residents. Therefore if they have a particular hangup with seeing children in SL like Alicia seemed to, then they can evict/eject/ban to their hearts content. They are merely misinformed or prejudiced for whatever reason. At the end of the day, they have the power ... not neccessarily the moral upperhand.

I believe said post was moved to a different section in the forums, not deleted.

Woah.

Okay.

I hate it when I see slaves with their masters, talking as a slave would to a master. I cannot freaking stand hearing them, and some days I swear if I heard another person say "master, may I" I will freaking go off. It drives me freaking insane, it sounds so silly, so retarded... TO ME. I would never AR them for that, because to them it's not silly. That's an opinion, and it's like RL, they have the right to be there and speak how they want as much as you have the right to click "TELEPORT." You can't AR them if they are not being directly offensive. So they are calling her mommy, oh well. That isn't hurting you in any way, and it's not offensive. Get over it.

Yea, I can not stand masters and slaves as well. I use to give them warning about their "offensive" behavior, now I just "dropkick" them off of my land. Just click the "eject/ban" button and watch them fly!
I have not had a problem with "ageplayers", at least they do not perform their actions on my land or have "sex" in my house.

From the perspective of a kid, I tend to talk in public when I'm in a place that isn't known to be kid safe because I want people to know that we're talking about normal stuff and not "cybering" in private chat.

Mostly we just don't go out of places that aren't part of the kids community. I got kicked out of a cart track last week. You'd think that would be a safe space? I mean, if you can't go to a go cart track as a kid, where can you go?

The hysteria and harassment stinks and LL should take responsibility. It's not hard to figure out who is who. Look at how they're dressed. Look at their profile. What part of "RL 18+. Please don't hit on me, I'm a kid AV, that's sick" in mine doesn't make it clear?

Now they just have one more thing to send in retarded AR's about. I'm sure the Lindens laugh at 80% of them.

People can be complete idiots all over the internet, it's no one's fault but their own. And there's no shortage of them.

Sorry Mily and Broken, I complicated things by that mention of Alicia and Voodoo. I was merely stressing that I was addressing the OP issue.

I saw a child avatar at Silver Island race track. She was with an SL friend of mine, dancing and generally playing child-like. Entirely inoffensive, rather amusing actually. A lot more entertaining than the complete absence of racing cars in fact.

Again, playing a child is not wrong. AR-ing someone for playing a child is wrong!

just my view on ageplay...

if the chat is kept to private(IM) in public places i usually ignore it, but like yesterday there were 2 daughters and a mom in a public place yapping with mom this, mom that and child so blablabla, AR`d them on the spot after telling them to take it private and they didn`t stop as more on that place can`t stand it there

I`d say ur safe aslong it`s kept private and only the witch hunters might AR a child av

This is really sad to read. What if someone didn't like what you wore on their land or the color of your avatar or if you speak only English and visit a sim where the owners are foreign and they only speak in their language and bann or report you because you don't! If it was a sexual chat with the two involved, I would cheer you on for the AR but because their chat annoyed you? WOW!

i jsut wanna know if its safe to log in with my 6yr old alt... :(

YES.

According to correspondence with Robin Linden, and corroborated with Chadrick Linden, the policy - while somewhat vague in some ways -- boils down the the following: Child avatars are okay. You can do anything with your child avatar and be okay - except for sexual contact with another avatar. As this is not part of your intent with your avatar, you are free and clear.

This said, be aware that you may face open hostility from other players who mistakenly assume you are involved in sexual ageplay. You may also be ARed for such, in spite of a lack of evidence. Generally speaking, I would jnot worry about these.

On the other hand, imagine the AR ability you do have if someone tries to sexually harass you. I almost feel sorry for the guy who claimed he and his friend were gonna rape me last night. ;-)

The long and short of it is this: you are okay. Just avoid those pink and blue poseballs and excite attachments that you already have no interest in anyway.

Welcome to my world.

Over the weekend, aside from the "Hi Little Girl. We're Gonna RAPE you!" that i got faced with yesterday (fastest eject/ban/AR I've ever done), I was threatened with an AR for playing a child avatar on Friday (with the argument of "if you aren't doing anythign wrong, then you have nothing to worry about" from the ARer), called a "Loli" in a derogatory fashion, and had another person simplyt questioning my choice of avatar. My in-world sister, also a kid, was bounced from a store by another resident (not the store owner) simply for being a kid. She was also accused of having mental problems by said griefer.

And we stayed in largely "safe" areas all weekend.

For me, I wish that LL would make a blog statement that was, in a way, opposite of Daniel Lindens. one that said, in effect, not to harass those who might seem to be involved in some of the banned categories, or might otherwise be mistaken for such -- 'cuz I'm awful tired of being the target of every SLamer on the grid.

The way things stand now, people seem to feel they have the *right* to get rid of us kids. Dat jes ain't right.

I won't speak for anyone else, but my response was not intended as a 'flame'...it was simply patent disbelief that she was advocating her reaction as reasonable.

Speaking of excite attachments, the lips, hair, ears and shoulders have great /me scripts, if i set it to disallow anybody apart from my sl mom access, in the case of the hair, since it has really sweet ones like brushing and ruffling hair, would i still get ARd'? if so, does anybody know of any pg version of the same/Similiar products?

I'm a six year old girl in sl too

Sorry Ann, may I apologise again for that opening remark in my earlier post. I didn't mean to sound derogatory and in fact wholly agree with your post.

Naw, I was referring to the sexual attachment ones, not the hair script. I really like that one as well, but have never opted to wear it.

I turn five (in-world) next month! I wonder if my birthday party will be broadly offensive! (It's a joke, peoples!)

that brings up an interesting point, we see lots of clubs and malls, wonder if there would be any interest in somewhere that caters purely to kids parties, birthday, general celebrations etc.

it could have video games, cotton candy, ice cream, burgers etc all set up, as well as celebrations tables that rezzes food.

That would be sooooo cool.

An really, I'd much rather talk about cotton candy than about abuse reports any day!
