They're all the same color with the lights out sweetie! OMG did I just say that out loud?  Well except in Second Life. Where "Midnight" is lighter than I keep my RL house in the daytime. And they have quite invented the feel-o-tron yet. SO visual is all we've got to go on. You did just type that out loud, yeah. Its okay though, I forgive ya. =p |

The sad thing is; I have in all honesty considered taking photos of my Kawk for my SL appendage. But that was when I was playing around with the whole "SL Sex" scene. If that causes anyone to stop shopping at my store , I was just kidding. I was just thinking about the technicalities....how to make the images seamless and stuff...JUST HYPOTHETICALLY!  _____________________

the problem is that LL uses different lighting systems for avatars and prims. it´s a real pain in the ass for many creators. and i don´t get it why it is that way...
(well i don´t get many things LL does: havok 1.x is the number one reason for sim crashes-we could have havok 4.x, still have the same old av creation tools/models, horrible simborder crossing, bad prim animation(bones anyone?) but hey we got voice  |

Turns out Caucasian Concealed Appendages tend to be noticeably ruddier than the rest of their owners' bodies- may have something to do with greater blood flow to the appendages, FTW (ladies, this is a GOOD thing, trust me). Can't speak to Asian or black; not my dpartment. So some color mismatches may actually be more realistic - though I'm not sure how much that has to matter in SL.
Thank God ladies' Concealed Places don't have these sorts of issues; men have enough angst just getting to them. |

And he didnt match either. Of course had he matched, at least he would have had that going for him. |

The Xcite-tint-your-junk board just gets you close. You still need to...um...play with it to get the color right, which is difficult, because your skin has shading that is different colors, so what do you match it to? Then, in different lighting sometimes it still looks off. Not that I would have a lot of experience with this sort of thing...or whatever. What he said is correct, you can take a skin shot of your avatar skin and apply it to the attachment and it will still look different, close but different. SL renders textures on prims different from textures on avatars. _____________________
