It is a shame that just a handful of people are doing whatever they can to bring about the early demise of something so many people use everyday. To the few of you who have nothing bettter to do in life except troll the forums and wait for someone to fight with: You have already stated that you wished the forums would die, well why don't you just leave instead and let us get back to helping others. Look at the last 20 posts you have made here and if at least one of them isn't answering a question to help a noob then you are not here for the right reason. It won't do any good to reply because I won't be back to read any more of the garbage in this thread. I'll be back where I can keep doing some good instead. To make it clear, MY position is that no forums is better than a forums with Strife in charge. This is a complete turn-about from my position up until a few days ago, when I said (and often) that if we didn't have him, we would have no forums, and that would be bad. coco _____________________

C. If we the forum residents really had our act together, we would recommend new forum moderation policies to the new community manager - pull it together now and put it on their desk when they arrive. As well as a set of recommendations for Linden policies re: the forums. Essentially, rewrite the stickies and (tiny) policy manual. The bulk of the community appears to me to be not far from agreement with each other. I like this idea a great deal. And I would be on board to participate in it if you or someone else would like to organize it. coco _____________________

The fact also is that there are multiple instances of cross forum linking and cross forum posts throughout the history of the SL Forums, SC and SLU. Nobody gets to claim the high moral ground here. The fact that Strife and LL continue to ignore the AR's, IM's and emails to lock or edit this thread is rather telling....

Since my name got dragged into this, my posting the article on SLUniverse was an innocent mistake and one which I regret. I've already apologized to Cristiano and would, of course, have either deleted or trimmed back my post at his request. Actually, my normal practice is to never post more than 4 paragraphs from a third party source. We all make mistakes. It's so much easier to own up to it and correct it instead of endlessly fighting.

If there were 3 or 4 mods this would not happen and for lack of a better way to put it they would be equally hated. Wrong. Back in the days when this forum had an actual discussion area (not RA), there were multiple mods. None of them attracted the ire that Strife has, though I freely admit that the ire has intensified greatly since he became the only resmod. Telling us something is so does not make it so. |

I would prefer that as well. coco P.S. Cristiano, does this mean they are ignoring AR's regarding copright violation, naming of names, and invasion of privacy and disclosure? Or did the person you spoke with not handle AR matters? It would seem to me LL would be opening a huge can of worms if they are going to officially let everyone port over entire posts from other forums as they wish, and then the forums WOULD be a mess. Both in terms of legal quagmires and creating issues such as this one. Plus there is no reason to allow that in the first place - people can always post links and quote short passages. coco _____________________

They need to ask first and I have heard nothing. I find that strange to say the least. As i said its up to LL I have heard nothing which I find strange seeing as I am supposedly involved here (oh and the evil one lets not forget i'm evil). also please remember the original post spanned 3 pages or whatever you call each one of these pages we make. I posted an exerpt 1/3'rd of the post. I am tired of re-explaining it over and over again but no one is reading As I see it I did nothing wrong. I wont take your word for it because all i have gotten has been demands and threats and foot stopming and name calling. No one has given me any reason to change my mind and the author of the thread couldn't even bother to contact me and ask me not even you did. All you did was post yet another threat with more attitude and insults in it and expect me to just take it. as I have previously said if you want people to cooperate in light of the fact nothing has actualy been done wrong you have to approach it a bit better then has been done here. Calling me names people sending me nasty im's ingame and no one bothering to even try to be human about it does not exactly warm my heart towards any of this issue only harden it. So i'm waiting for this contact to occur so far nothing but threats and demands and no ll has not asked me anything .... _____________________
