No apology necessary Lear. I actually didn't even see the post till just now and really have no response to it. If that is how you view me,then that is how you view me. I have no desire or care to change your mind.

My post was simply an observance on Jig's behavior on these forums. If she wants to make thread after thread about her life and all its little wonders, than she should expect people to make comments on it. Good and bad.

If they expect the same in return that is what they get. Additionally as with my case. They are the only person that I want. I am courting them in SL for RL.

They are are aware of this. ;)

1/8 Americans meet their spouses online, I am willing to bet this includes a period of virtual courtship and dating?

I met my spouse online back when that was rare enough to make the papers (and did).

But I wasn't *looking* for RL connections. It just happened.

Rioko, if you read my post, after the first sentence, it was a cut-paste of yours edited to fit the context. Maybe you weren't trying to be condescending and malicious, but that's the effect you achieved.

First, she started this thread. You're free not to read it. Second, she got into her RL after being challenged on it. Third, I vastly prefer her lively and upbeat conversation to your malice.

I can see by your responses that my initial interpretation was correct. Your post was not "simply an observance"; it was mean-spirited and condescending.

Regardless, I shouldn't have called you a bitch, even if you are one.

You owe Jig an apology. I wish I'd had the skills to engage you in a manner that might have led to that.

How about enemies with benefits?

Pros:

1. Enemy becomes less hostile to you.

2. You won't feel awkward if you don't feel any emotion to them.

3. Gather personal information to hurt them.
My nomination for the Nobel Prize!

Oops, except for that last bit.

Sorry, I don't agree. My opinion of her still stands. I am not going to apologize for my opinions and observations of her behaviors. When and if she proves me wrong, than I will apologize.

She uses this forum as a breeding ground for her beliefs and ideas and then acts as if we think differently we are silly and beneath her and her way of thinking. She constantly brings up her personal sex life(whether challenged or not ) And she most certainly did bring up her own life in the first post.Pasted below so you can re-read. Second,I'll read and comment on whatever thread I want. Third, you are free to use the ignore button or comment as you want.

Since I discovered boys in real, I have long been a confirmed adherent to the "Friends With Benefits" philosophy. Making out with a bloke to get a better seat at a rock concert, being available to another for a favour, making a party more fun are all ways "benefits" can be applied. And you dont need me to spell out what benefits I am talking about.
Seriously, I am partnered to one man but he never expects me to remain monogomononous. That is a bit over the top. Hal encourages me to explore my inner self and I dont need a second invitation. I am a lucky little avatar!

When? Who?

I get that Jiggy rubs people the wrong way sometimes. And she doesn't always phrase things in the most diplomatic manner.

But I have never seen her "rip" anyone apart. On the contrary, I'm continually astonished at how good humoured she generally remains in the face of an awful lot of hostility.

I'd hate to see this turn into yet another "why Jig bugs me" thread. I also respect your opinion, Kira, and yours Rio. If that's the way you feel, so be it; we all respond to different personalities differently. I can't, and wouldn't try to tell you to like someone whom you obviously don't.

But I honestly don't think that Jig has a malicious bone in her body.

Maybe not "malicious"....but if you phrase things in a manner that slights others, or judges others harshly or unfairly....even if a very broad generalization (and maybe the broader, the worse it is)....you have to be willing to accept the consequences. Maybe I misinterpreted, but seems like she is totally cool with that, because she stated that most people love her, so it shouldn't be a problem.

As for the privacy issue. Jig, you give far more RL information in here, in forum....that would be more of a problem than using voice. Add your RL sex history to it....and not cool. You've been warned before.

she pretty much does it to groups of people. I was going to post some quotes for You, but decided against it. Do you think what she said to Lear was in jest? She may say it was later, but she also likes to lie too. She assumes because she does something that everyone else should too and if we don't we are wrong in our beliefs.

I bite my tongue a lot in here, because how I live my life is my own. I don't put that on anyone else. To answer her question "The reason I don't f--- everyone in site is because I am not a wh---. I didn't see a warning button when I signed up for sl to check my morals at the door".

I agree somewhere inside of her there is a good person. Until she learns to put others before herself though she will never find it. Hers is a sad story I believe.

Agree, I too think she's harmless, she's great in 'person' (avatar person, that is) and she's fun. I actually 'like' most people here, so many personalities, and I don't think we need to take these forums so seriously, do we? I've long believed that Jig may very well be someone we'd recognize in rl if we knew who she was. But here in SL, she's just another 'forum regular' with her own way of being. She's said things I don't agree with, some of them kind of hurtful actually, but I give her points for honesty, and realize that everybody in the world or even in the forums isn't going to agree with me on everything. That's ok, would be pretty boring if they did! I guess what I"m trying to say is that i like her, and I think she's really being herself here. Sometimes, I wish I could be as free as she is, but it's not like I can't admire a butterfly, even though I'll never be one.

This.

You're right, Scylla, Jig isn't into personal attacks. But she posts provocative generalizations, and folks who are in the group she's speaking about sometimes feel judged (and insulted). To me, Jig is a comedy act. I don't feel insulted by her, just as I'm not insulted if Jay Leno makes a joke about middle-aged women.

For example, here's a couple of generalizations thatmay cause individuals to feel insulted:
> SL couples dancing is for losers
> People who are monogamous in SL are pawns of moral majority thinking

Since Jig MEANS to be provocative, she does not allow anyone's arguments to sway her thinking, so that adds to people's insulted feelings. So be it - it's life on a forum.

If one is hurt by something a forum comedienne says, it may be best to just ignore her threads.

Re: privacy, surely that's for Jig to decide? Personally, based on the information about her career and private life that Jig has shared, I'm firmly convinced that her typist is Elton John. Prominent personality in music circles, raised in Britlandia but spends a lot of time in the Northeast, instantly recognizable voice, unbelievable 'princess' mentality, must live a gated life 'in real' ... nods. Elton John.

My problem with that is I don't think Leno means it, Jig I think does. I think she made that quite clear a few months back.

Jig has always been a paradox to me. She appears as a free spirit, who wants to enjoy life at every turn, yet she is dismissing and judgemental of those who don't approach thing her way. She claims to be involved in the arts and is a somewhat public figure, yet her rigid thinking appears to against the grain of the typical liberal artsy type.

She frustartes and annoys me at times, other times she makes me laugh, but I don't think she intends to insult or be mean. I think she does it unconsciously. I do think it is a maturity issue for the most part.

Well put.

I don't think she's particularly worried about offending some group -- she's certainly pays no mind to political correctness. But I don't see her attacking individuals, and I praise her for that.

*smiles* I forgot he did that. Very sweet! And see, he's a neko!

Partnered, but still sexually voracious. Immense heart. Older than she seems. Check!

/me fishes around in her inventory for a pair of sequined sunglasses to send Jig.

I know she will lurve them.

Hmm this just got me thinking that I may have a closer relationship to Jig than I ever suspected as I know Elton's partner David.

Exactly. You said it much better than I could. In my original post I mentioned that I think a lot of it has to do with being young. Face it,a lot of young people are selfish and have an 'all about me' mentality. I was the same way at one point in my life. I honestly was not trying to be a bitch(In my original post),cause I do like Jig for the most part. She does make me laugh and sometimes I even enjoy the threads she comes up with.

That's because I'm a little bit saner than you are. :p

You question whether she is of the age she claims to be, which is possible, but chronological age and maturity sometimes don't go hand in hand either. Someone can be selfish and immature at a young age, and if never corrected can carry it on into adulthood. She says she is in theatre, and some of those types are the most selfish, immature peple going. But in any event, it isn't worth getting too upset about. Hopefully, she will show up and give us all what for. ;)

Good points and yes you are much saner. Most people are way more sane than I am. They let me post here anyway though. You should see the things I don't post.... :o

I've been taking this class that is all about personalties and all happy crap like that. Unfortunately, because of this class I am starting to notice certain behaviors in people more and more. I think I alienated two friends this past week alone with my observations. :p I think I need a class to learn how to shut the hell up .
