. . so on Face Book (a rl thing of mine) I just leave them all pending.

Me too! I have this really long page of RL friend requests on Facebook. I do know them all, but I'm so reclusive I don't really want to connect I think. I may abandon my FB account. I once posted a period "." and nothing else. Three people "liked" it.

I never wrote something into the never ending thread, so it is a good chance to do this now before the lock on Feb. 9th.

Yes, same here: couldn't open the forum for some hours and got failure messages and/or non found messages from my browser.

Login now was very slow.

Hi there, Wynochee! I'm so glad you decided to stop by! :)

I had to take Boomer to the Vet today. He kept us both up last night hacking and yacking, it was like sleeping with an old Jewish man......

It turns out he has a touch of bronchitis.

So more dog memories...here he is after his first bath

And a day at the lake

This is "Mojo". We have had him since November. He will still not get near me. He acts as if he was treated very badly by a previous owner.

Forgive them, Boomer. They don't know about the Doggy Decree of Decorum and Dignity we live by. I even see the "B" word used here.

Ahhh - to bad. I hope he wasn't mistreated. you'll win his trust eventually.

Note from keyboard guy: I was sitting in my car in a friend's neighborhood one balmy evening with my windows rolled down. Someone across the street came outside and started calling "Mojo! Mojo?" and whistling. Then she gave up and went back in. Pretty soon I saw this --dinosaur, that's what it looked like at first -- come galloping down the street. It came to my car window and stuck it's head in without stretching, bent DOWN and effortlessly sniffed the top of my head. Biggest dog I've ever seen in my life. It must have been part Great Dane, part Clydesdale. Satisfied I wasn't the one calling, it galloped off. I reckon that was Mojo too.

Please don't give up on him - if he was abused it will take a great deal of time and patience for him to trust, especially if something about you is reminiscent of the person who hurt him. :(

I hope that it's easily treatable and he will be feeling well soon. Poor guy.

He gets along great with everyone else in the house and he actually is a good dog. Supposedly he isn't as bad with me as he was with men in the two foster homes he was in before we got him. I would expect it could take as long as a year.

Could be less, could be more. It depends also on how old he is, how long/severely he was abused, and how much effort you put into winning his heart.

However, not all pets (or people) do get over being abused. The fact that he is well behaved and safe to be around may turn out to be the best that he can do, he may always be skittish.

I think that one of the reasons LL is closing these forums is that they are fed up of subsidising a showcase of laggy images demonstratiing the lack of talent and general ugliness of most of the avatars.

Pep (As has been apparent from the plethora of "vanity" reposts in the last week.)

Hey, Thread :)

I haven't been here in ages but I heard LL were shutting this place down so I thought I'd stick my head back in one last time to say, "Hi and goodbye". I'm not usually one for leaving online fora with a dramatic farewell flourish (hence my non-verbal disappearance before) but this place was a part of my life for some time and I didn't want it to vanish completely without my having had the chance to wish all of you the very best in both Second and First.

Edit: *chortles* Oh... the irony... ;)

Considering that there is a gallery section of the forums, Pep, I think you would be greatly mistaken.

And who from here is posting there?

Pep (perhaps they should have one dedicated to lolcats - that gets wiped every 24 hours.)

Just because it so obviously pisses off Pep, here's me in the cloister at Mont Saint Michel.

Just because it will piss off Scylla that I have actually been there, not just to a lacklustre cartoon representation, here's me in the cloisters of Mont St Michel.
