Hey, Thread :)

I haven't been here in ages but I heard LL were shutting this place down so I thought I'd stick my head back in one last time to say, "Hi and goodbye". I'm not usually one for leaving online fora with a dramatic farewell flourish (hence my non-verbal disappearance before) but this place was a part of my life for some time and I didn't want it to vanish completely without my having had the chance to wish all of you the very best in both Second and First.

Edit: *chortles* Oh... the irony... ;)

*waves to Skell*

Hey there! I'm glad you poked your head back in here this week. Hope all is well in your world. :)

To paraphrase a well known quote . . .
02-06-2010 07:54
"We'll always have RA."

This day and age we're living in
Gives cause for apprehension
With speed and new invention
And things like fourth dimension.

Yet we get a trifle weary
With Mr. Einstein's theory.
So we must get down to earth at times
Relax relieve the tension

And no matter what the progress
Or what may yet be proved
The simple facts of life are such
They cannot be removed.

You must remember this
A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh.
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by.

And when two lovers woo
They still say, "I love you."
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by.

Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date.
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate.
Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
That no one can deny.

It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die.
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.

Oh yes, the world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by.

*I will miss everyone's stories.

I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day through.

In that small cafe;
The park across the way;
The children's carousel;
The chestnut trees;
The wishin' well.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

In Pep's defence (and I never thought I'd hear myself use that phrase), at least he has the courage to post his RL image here.

Very easy in an environment like this to throw stones.

Obviously we can only assume that your excellent conditioning, toned body and general aesthetic loveliness give you the necessary authority to comment on another's looks.

To be honest, albeit only in my experience, the only people who actually enjoy the schadenfreude of another's physical imperfections are those who prefer not to look very long at themselves in the mirror.

Interesting first post here in this thread, but welcome. :)

How are our DCers doing this morning? Hunkered down?

Well.

Thus far, I've got about...24 inches outside. Heavily compacted stuff.

I shoveled the first bit yesterday around...8 pm, just to get a head start before I went to bed.

I went out this morning around 10 or so to do the next round. Yowsers. I got about half of it done before I threw up my hands in defeat. I'll go out a bit later to do the other half.

We're supposed to get 5-9 inches more by the time the storm's done this evening.

Fortunately, I've not lost power...yet. Lost some big branches on a dogwood and a fir tree.

I think that one of the reasons LL is closing these forums is that they are fed up of subsidising a showcase of laggy images demonstratiing the lack of talent and general ugliness of most of the avatars.

Pep (As has been apparent from the plethora of "vanity" reposts in the last week.)

If it means we will be spared your venemous and vindictive ramblings, it will be an equitable tradeoff.

Are we back up and running - or at least limping. I couldn't get in for hours. I do hope I can say my goodbyes (to this place - I won't have to say goodbye to you guys, thank goodness :) ) but I'm not ready yet.

Here is a picture of Cassie the Wonder dog. She is no longer a member of my household as I felt I could not give her the attention she needs. She stays with my sister now and does come to visit though. Cassie came and got my attention one evening when I had left a pot holder close to a burner on the stove and it had caught fire. She took me to it. That's why she's the Wonder Dog.

[EDIT: There I made it a little more reasonable in size. Had to re-upload it.]

.

She's gorgeous! I'm glad you are able to visit with her. :)

I barely have a dusting right now, I'm looking at 3 inches or so tops.
