Well folks, it seems the forums are getting so crippled we may not all get to say proper goodbyes. I'd better say it now in case I haven't said it enough already. So I will say it with an unattractive temporary signature I hope you don't mind too much.
I loved this place and this thread, but it is the people who made it what it is, not the venue. I have faith that this is only the end of a chapter. The story will go on and on. You will forever be a part of my story now. There is no adequate way to thank you for that. Here's to the future.

Weston, you are right, if the 500 errors continue we had better say what we have to say.
Thanks to all here for the camaraderie, laughter, support, and a safe place to rant. I intend to surf the other venues, so will see many of you around. Those who choose not to go to other venues, I wish you well in your SL and RL, whether our paths cross or not.

How unsurprising is this? The "gentleman" in question has long been far more interested in provocation and scoring points than in the "truth," in any sense of that word. If ever there was an advertisement for SCII, it's the fact that he has declared that he won't be posting there.

Oh man, epic burn is right. With pretensions like that, no wonder he's crawled back under his rock. So, as Skell's quick appearance here reminded me, here is once more The usual cyclical lifecycle of 'Pserendipitus danielis'. Give or take a few seasonal variations, it appears from all observations to run thus: Stage 1 - The egg To observers this appears to be the dormant stage, but activity is not entirely suspended. Within the egg there is growth and movement, as P. danielis grows strong enough to break out of its leathery shell and explore the world. Stage 2 - The larva This is the most vulnerable stage. The newly-hatched P. danielis observes its surroundings and integrates itself, usually with mixed success. It tends to mingle well with other species in the same family, and after a relatively long period of time becomes a member of the colony. Stage 3 - The pupa At this stage, P. danielis begins to build a hardened shell around it. While still interacting with other members of the colony, it begins to attack at random. It possesses an adequate pair of pincers by now, but they never grow sharp enough to cause damage to the colony, who usually begin to shun P. danielis at this point. On rare occasions the colony's queen may order the workers to expel P. danielis from the nest if its behaviour grows too erratic, but the usual treatment by fellow colony members is to simply push P. danielis into the outer reaches of the nest and ignore it. Stage 4 - The adult The shortest stage in the lifecycle of P. danielis. By this time it is attacking members of the colony at random, biting viciously at the females (never a wise move for this creature, as the female of the species is more deadly than the male) and targeting one or two members of the colony significantly. Toward the end of this stage, P. danielis exudes a pheromone (Stenchus vitriolica) that causes the females of the colony to attack it en masse and seal it up in an egg, there to wither and rot until such time as a new P. danielis is formed from the sludge within, and the lifecycle begins again. The conclusion from these observations is that P. danielis is a relatively small and insignificant creature that goes through stages of acceptance and attack. Its bite, though sharp, is harmless and non-toxic, and it is swiftly handled by the females of the colony.

From: Maureen Boccaccio You know, when you posted that award=winning pic earlier in the week, I couldn't take my eyes off it. Congrats, Mari! And at the dance...is that Johnny, your friend who's a boy, but not your boyfriend? Thanks! One of the' reasons I took that piccie was, well, cuz they did such an amazing job of makin a cool spot f'r us all to play this time. Still wonder why no one has done like virtual resort vacations f'r adult avvies in places that nice. Glad ya liked it! An ya, that's Johnny. He only asked me to th' dance cuz a lot of other girls were askin' t'go to th' dance with him, an he figured it was just easier to ask me to make all of them stop. From: 3Ring Binder /me smiles. lovely, all. Thanks!

Did you guys know that when you make the font bigger on these pages the pictures get bigger too? I probably need new glasses so lately I've been hitting control + to make the font more readable. I've been wondering why the pics look so huge.
Duh.

From: Damien1 Thorne And you believed him? Um, yes, I did, sort of. Naive, I know, as is apparent from the fact that he's post the image-that-shall-not-be-named in the undying thread over that. Honestly, what an asshole he has become.

From: 23rdDjin Negulesco then perhaps you should also know that what he posted is nothing but a stock photo from an online photo tour: http://goeurope.about.com/od/montsaintmichel/ig/Mont-Saint-Michel-Pictures/"courage" had absolutely nothing to do with it. a tendency to blatantly lie, however, did. so, before you next jump to a conclusion, perhaps you, too, should take a good long look in the mirror, lest you instead jump to a contusion... (and, so long as you're looking, you may also take note that your last two paragraphs fall into the category of both the "pot" and the "kettle".) Thank you 23rd. This gave me a much needed smile.

From: Maureen Boccaccio Well.
Thus far, I've got about...24 inches outside. Heavily compacted stuff.
I shoveled the first bit yesterday around...8 pm, just to get a head start before I went to bed.
I went out this morning around 10 or so to do the next round. Yowsers. I got about half of it done before I threw up my hands in defeat. I'll go out a bit later to do the other half.
We're supposed to get 5-9 inches more by the time the storm's done this evening.
Fortunately, I've not lost power...yet. Lost some big branches on a dogwood and a fir tree. We have 26 inches. And a tree that has stood behind our house for 30+ years fell over. shovel shovel shovel . . . cleaned the driveway several times now. Currently has about 8 to 10 inches on it. And it was cleaned at noon today. Here's the tree trying to break into the house, slowly.
