I would dearly love some Krispy Kremes. I moved from Seattle to a smallish city in Arizona. No Krispy Kreme here but on a trip to Phoenix, mapquest printout in hand, I went to one downtown. It was a Saturday afternoon about 5-ish and it had CLOSED at 2:00. D'oh!

/me passes 3 some donuts, no chocolate.

I had no idea how un-photogenic donuts are, until I tried to find a pic. Most donut pics look really bad, but this one looks tasty.

Mmm....those look like the Krispy Kremes they sold outside Mass on Sundays when I was growing up....

Although I have to say, I'm partial to cinnamon doughnuts. :)

We had 2 stores down here in Tucson, but they didn't even last 2 years.

The demise of the place made me think of this old SNL video. Mostly for the title: "Don't Look Back in Anger." Of course I didn't see it when it was originally shown, but even yars later, it is very haunting and eerie.

By the weirdest coincidence - I think - the last time I saw this was the day after he died. I was watching nightly re-runs on some cable channel or something and this episode seemingly just happened to have its turn that night.

Wow, I'd forgotten that sketch. It IS eerie to watch it now.

So did you stay home from work? I hope.

I did not. But we were shutting down at 2 because of the snowstorm, so I went home around 12:45. It was snowing, but since the air and ground temperatures were still above freezing, the snow was melting on contact.

Not so now. It's snowing very heavily.

What does one do on AU with all the random friend requests?

I've checked and I have NO friends in common with these people, and they haven't included any message with the request. If I use the "ignore request" button will they get some sort of rude message, or will the request just go away?

Yes, I wondered the same. At first I wondered where I'd met all these folks!! Then I just figured it must be like Facebook where it seems people think it's nifty to collect lots of names.

eta: I see there's been discussion about this.

PPS: And group invites! How does one leave a group on AU?

Good afternoon all... getting some snow here......i hate it!!!

Usually I give you grief for sending the snow our way, but I don't think I can blame you for the blizzard this time.

Hope you got home safely.

I never wrote something into the never ending thread, so it is a good chance to do this now before the lock on Feb. 9th.

Yes, same here: couldn't open the forum for some hours and got failure messages and/or non found messages from my browser.

Login now was very slow.

(so, yes, Seven... there is a reason they sent you the request. they finally got to the letter S in the members list)

I would rather assume that they want to know me.

Even if some are just upping their friend count, I can't tell them from the ones who have some idea who I am.

Listen, the other day I went to a deli near my house and the woman who was making my wrap took so long that I ended up standing there for maybe twenty minutes (including the time before I ordered). There was a steady flow of people through the store, and *everybody* talked to me, and not to just say hello. I had never seen any of them before.

If I were a Principal, I'd have your child arrested & thrown in Juvenille Court for breaking the ZERO tolerance Policy:

http://www.wpxi.com/family/22470622/detail.html

I would have them arrested as the dirty F*cking Violent Rapist Criminals that they are!!!!! He'd spend the rest of his childhood in Juvenille Detention, with rapists, drug dealers, and being molested. He's nothing more than a future criminal wanna-be who's childhood should be spent locked up in prison and never let out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OR- I'd realize that toys- whether guns or dolls, are all part of childhood. ;)

You decide.... Society? F*cked up? Or am I just wishing that human kind needs a kick in the F'ing face???

For the win!!! It was "mammoth jugs".
