From: Gabriele Graves It has been a trying time for me recently and I have felt largely disinclined to talk about it publicly. However I think the time has come to explain recent events that some of you might be interested in and close this chapter of my SL life with some pictures that I put together. (snip) Pictures of WatchmanI'm glad you were able to find a way to take care of yourself and quit your Second Job without completely giving up your Second Life. And how wonderful that you are having such a great time in RL. I wish you the best of both worlds.

From: Soji Slade We have a closing date for the forum. Feb. 9th. I was going to spend a few minutes here in the forum before facing the drive home. But now I just depressed, wouldn't be much fun. Oh well, I'll see you all a little later. Have a nice evening.

I think everybody is more than a little depressed about the news. Anyway I said what I wanted to say on the Floggum about it however pointless it turns out to be.

Well anyway, this got up to 100,000 posts!
Not a million views, and not enough time to get there.
But I say, CONGRATULATIONS! Everybody who insists on being actual people, as opposed to robots LL seems to prefer.
People who took a place in Resident Answers and actually made it ours!
100,000 posts - I call that a full-out win.

Meh, I wanted to tell Yoz to F.O. when he asked you to repro and help debug the Jive software. I'm sorry to hear about the circumstances of you having to sell Watchman. It was a lovely area from what I recall during the home tour. However, I'm happy to see that your time taken from away SL is filled with the enjoyment and joy of a new relationship

From: Brenda Connolly In the truth is stranger than fiction department, there is a traffic stoppage on the New Jersey Turnpike near Cherry Hill due to a small plane making an emergency landing on the road. The plane was doing traffic reporting fpr Philadelphia radio and TV stations. Was the traffic report able to continue uninterrupted from the ground? Thanks for that shot of Gibbs Brothers. From: Soji Slade I bought the Maya outfit. How could you have resisted? From: Maureen Boccaccio ...They rarely plow my cul-de-sac, and there's just enough of an incline from my driveway to the intersection to make things a little dicey when it's icy. (heh...I'm a poet, and I didn't know it! ) Maybe your feet show it. Are they long fellows? actually I seem to remember that they are perfectly proportioned to the rest of you. From: Brann Georgia Thanks That horse was a lucky find. And sometimes there is a good use for an overbright facelight. I pulled it out further to focus the composition. Brann the only reason I haven't commented on that picture was that so many other people were posting great pics and I couldn't keep up with everyone I wanted to compliment. But every time someone re-posts that one of you and the horse I love it more and more. It is one of the best pics ever. From: Tod69 Talamasca Rez a sphere. Sit on it. Now go back into Edit. Change the Z setting for Position to around 4000. Leave edit. Go into Mouselook as you fall. See how many sims you bounce across. It helps if there are skyboxes and other things to bounce off of on the way down. I have got to try this! From: Gabriele Graves It has been a trying time for me recently and I have felt largely disinclined to talk about it publicly. However I think the time has come to explain recent events that some of you might be interested in and close this chapter of my SL life with some pictures that I put together. Some of you have gathered, I closed all my in-world business interests recently. I sold the contest business to a third party and closed my rentals so that I could sell my land. This was mainly due to restrictions on my time coupled with a continued shockingly poor service from the one major NZ telecom that does not look like being resolved any time soon. Considering that the problem persists at the local exchange (major service over-subscription), it affects all the ISPs that I could possibly choose from in my small semi-rural area. You may or may not be aware that primarily I paid for my land holdings from the sales of what has been a very profitable picture voting contest system. This has been the case for over a year and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. The rentals were a way of having a partial secondary backup in case my revenue stream dried up. It accounted for about a third of my overall tier and was also successful as I was fully occupied for almost 100% of the time. For this I give a big hug of gratitude to all my friends who made that happen. I never took a cent out of SL and used it all my earnings to enhance my SL experience and provide a place for others to enjoy for free and for some to call home at a reasonable cost. However, not so long ago I began finding out that whilst there have been no reported or outstanding bugs for a long time on my contest system, I no longer have adequate time to support my customers or improve the system. Couple that with the fact that the upcoming scripting limits mean that a significant reworking of the product would need to be undertaken for my larger customers (the majority) who run contests with hundreds of contestants and I decided that SL was beginning to look a lot like having a second full time job and I wasn't able to enjoy my time in-world or even meet my obligations. This was further impacted since I began seeing someone in RL. It has been going extremely well and has significantly cut short my potential in-world time as well. So, I sold the contest business to someone who does have the time/energy to do the things I cannot do and provide support to the existing customer base. However, without my contest sales I have a few months of tier at best. I could not tier down at all without selling large parts of Watchman and that would impact the rentals to the point where they would not be viable any more. I am not able to get in-world much due to spending time with my BF and my connection which is unusable for at least 70-80% of the time I wish to use it. I hope that a picture is beginning to form that I would not be willing to spend USD 195 (approx NZD 275) of my own money when the reserves dry up to make it worth while continuing to stay at full sim tier. I have gone into a much smaller group land project at Blair with some people I also know in RL (you might remember Sophia and the Prowl store) and am contributing my free tier plus a small amount of tier above that to keep an in-world base for the moment as it seemed a waste of my annual premium to not have any tier. So that is pretty much the whole story and now for the pictures: Pictures of WatchmanThanks for the story and the pictures, Gabriella. All I can say is I admire you a lot and wish you all the best in the next stages of sl and rl. (That young man is very fortunate.)

*hugs* Gaby. Watchman was a lovely place, and I loved the time I lived there. I miss that little cottage I'm happy for you that your RL is going well, and that you now have enough time to enjoy both worlds, without the pressure SL jobs put on it. I love the pictures, thankyou for sharing them. Take care of yourself xxx

From: Tex Nasworthy That's one of my pet peeves. I'd like to wear hats more often but fitting them over my hair without making the hat insanely huge is near impossible. I've not seen any of the hat/hair combos that Josh mentioned. Maybe I'll give those a try, but when I change my hair Tex doesn't look like Tex anymore. Being a native Texan I certainly have some cowboy tendencies, however I always leaned more toward the hippie side of the spectrum. The recent batch of cowgirl pics has me rethinking that. I have been on a couple of the group horseback rides in the past. Those were always lots of fun. I have to look into doing that again if those are still happening. Tex, this is the ballcap I was talking about from Argrace. I think it might actually look quite like your current blond hair. And Nika, I was wrong it does have resize scripts in them :/ ... could have changed mind you as I haven't been there in a while.
