Next goals:

1) 1,000,000 views
2) have this become an old thread then someone necro-posts to it months later
3) spend the next 100,000 posts debating necro-posting to it

@Maureen - thanks!

Hey, I don't know what the four-picture thing was all about that you guys did before, but after I bought two skins from Milla Alexandre's new store, I wanted to try it too:

Clockwise, from upper left:
My usual skin, from Zullay Thor (no longer in business)
Dolly 1 and Evaline 3 from Milla Alexandre (Sabijha)
Sylvan Pixie from Hybrid

Same shape and eyes in all four pics.

all pretty. i still like your everyday skin best! :D

When I get something in my head that I want to build, I usually check out XStreet to see if anyone else has made it first. Sometimes, when someone has made an okay version but I think I can do better, I go ahead and give it a shot anyway - like my bagpipes, for example. But sometimes, someone has done such a good job that I just go ahead and buy it and enjoy it.

This is one of those times.

It drives! It flies! It floats on the water! And it makes...the famous engine sound! The lights can even be turned on and off! It's....pure awesomeness inside total win wrapped in woot. That's the only way to describe it.

My newest toy:

OMG! the chitty chitty bang bang car. i love that movie, and i love your new toy! congrats!

eta: oh, i see Eli already announced it was the CCBB car. good call, Eli. :)

playing D&D is gonna be the least of this guy's problems.

"In an opinion issued on Monday, a three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit rejected the claims in a lawsuit challenging a ban on the game Dungeons & Dragons by the Waupun Correctional Institution in Wisconsin.

The suit was brought by a prisoner, Kevin T. Singer, who argued that his First Amendment and 14th Amendment rights were violated by the prison’s decision to ban the game and confiscate his books and other materials, including a 96-page handwritten manuscript he had created for the game."

I wonder if he can make his saving throw vs. surprise sexxors in the shower room?

No it isn't. It's made by British Leyland.

awww...sorry, Josh. I know how frustrating it can be. :( I have Photoshop, but still don't understand it. At.all. :o I think I have to break down and find a class to take. :o

NOBODY understands all of Photoshop. It's a world unto itself. I am learning to like Layers, except that all too often I create one I don't want when using the Text tool, and I do NOT understand Masks. (I know what they DO, just not how to make them do it.)

And I haven't even TOUCHED the 3D tools, which is why I bought the upgrade to CS4 in the first place.

Seven, those skins are all cute. I especially like #2 and #3, but you'll have to tweak your lips a bit to get them looking like your original self. The upper lip's a bit thinner with the new skins.

Ok, I really do hate to be the one spreading rumors, however this is big news. I've just been informed that Weston may not actually be a beagle.

I'm guessing schnauzer.

:D

He's a beagle? OMG, and all this time I thought Weston was a Bagel! Must've been a typo.

Heh, I just found out that the car plays the song if you click on the rear bumper!

I know about layers but they don't seem to work the way I want to as well. I'm trying to making a logo, and yes I know I should probably be using Illustrator so it's a vector rather than a rasterized image but one crazy program is enough for me atm. I don't seem to quite understand how to use masks either, although I conceptually understand what they do. I wanted to retain all the layers so I can easily play around with the colours and such but I couldn't seem to be able to figure out masks last night so I just merged all the layers and cut stuff out but I know it was a bad way of doing it. Meh I'm getting hives just thinking about it but perhaps I'll try again tonight :/

Josh, when you merge layers, save that file with a new name. then *undo* and save your PS file with all the layers in place, so you can easily go back and mod it as needed layer by layer.

Ya that's what I've been doing although it bugs me that with the effect I want, I can't seem to achieve it without merging layers first. I did pick up an interesting tip though. If you ctrl alt shift e, that will create a merged layer on top of all the existing layers you have.

If you want to merge just some of the layers:
1) Save the file.
2) Make copies of the layers you want to merge by dragging them onto the little piece of paper icon at the bottom of the layers thingy.
3) Then hide ALL the other layers by clicking on the little eyes.
4) Then do Layer > Merge Visible (this is probably your Ctrl-Alt-Shift-E).
5) Rename your shiny new merged layer.
6) If all worked correctly, save again.

I had Photoshop on my old computer. Never used it except to crop. Could not bother to get myself to try to figure it out. Well, I did try out the clothing templates first. When a tutorial I found for the templates said to do something, and showed, with arrows and everything, what to do next, and I didn't have that "thing", whatever it was, I tossed in the towel and realized it wasn't for me.

I wanna try to learn Blender too but I hear that is worse. I'd also love to learn Mandarin. Not enough time in the day or enough synapses unfortunately :/

Oh, lucky me, I will be learning Mandarin soon... wish I felt your enthusiasm for what seems to be a near-impossible language to learn.
