One more bonus pic for Scylla. I won't confirm your guesses until I reveal the answers tomorrow.

The gropee is famous too.

She looks like Debbie Harry doing her best Wendy O. Williams impression.

Hunter!

My favorite quote from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas:
From: someone
San Francisco in the middle Sixties was a very special time and place to be a part of. Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run...but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time in the world. Whatever it meant...

There was madness in any direction, at any hour...you could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning...

And that, I think, was the handle- that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. Our energy would simply prevail. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave....

So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look west, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-watermark- that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.

Lula you're good! I think I recognize the location somewhere on CA route 1 in the general vicinity of Big Sur.

I am going to guess this was taken when he was writing his book about the Hells Angels. I cried when I heard he passed and celebrated his life when his ashes were blown out of a canon. I always regretted not going to his lecture when he was in town. He was incorrigible and brilliant all at the same time... and now I have tears forming in my eyes.

Ah, yes. I remember this picture well. I was with him at the time, you know . . . It was shortly after our arrival in Bolivia: we were patrolling the Ñancahuazú region, on the run from government troops after a brief skirmish near Tarija. Che ordered that we stop for a breather.

It was Mountain Dew, as I remember. And he wouldn't share.

Che was like that sometimes.

Yours sincerely,

During this winter, I've discovered TWO new Roadside hazzards in Pennsylvania.

On the shoulder of the roads you have your choice of avoiding:

A) A dead deer
B) A blown off truck tire

However, the deer don't count when whacked by a semi. Those things just smear the deer for the next few hundred yards.

FYI: If you dont know the dread of hitting a deer with a vehicle, dead or alive, count yerself lucky.

I bet you're right. I read that book about the Hell's Angels before I had ever heard of him. For some reason I read "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" over a weekend when I was seriously sleep deprived which really helped me get into the feel of the thing.

Scylla! I love that pic of you comrade! :D The Motorcycle Diaries is one of my favorite movies!

Kaimi... It didn't take me long to read that book either... again... and again...

I went to the forum cartel hangout tonight. Just hanging out... yanno... tending the bar... when Argus Collinwood tp'd in. We had such a great conversation (we share much history in common.) With her permission I took a couple of shots. She is so beautiful from the inside out. So nice to meet you, Argus!

I guess everyone slept in this morning, or perhaps they were just "shagged out after a long squawk".

Either way, Howdy Folks!
