Speaking of Sherlock Holmes and the other thread about private investigators in SL, I thought I'd try to make an animated gif. Ava's drummer gif also inspired me to figure out how to do it.

Hope this works .. it's a bit creepy looking though :p

Are there any Colt's fans in the thread?

Bears... *sigh*

The Jets owned that game.

Jets vs. Saints would be sweet. Both teams deserve to be there.

Just got home from seeing Sherlock Holmes. Anyone else seen it yet. From the TV ads I've seen over and over again I wasn't that impressed, however the movie itself very enjoyable.

Haven't seen it yet; it's on the list. :)

Oh yes. That is her best yet. She was made to wear that dress. :)

*looks around suspiciously* I see no weapons, none. Good thing they made her do it, but I did not detect evidence of such force.

I liked it, though it wasn't what the previews lead you to suspect. To a certain extent. The 'best' moments, in terms of humor, are in the previews. Otherwise a good film.

And it did win Junior that golden globe.

I thought the villain and the woman did good. I am glad they didn't go for the obvious choice of Oldman or the like. You can't use the same set of villains over and over again.

So... a certain someone (I'm not going to name names, but her initials are 3R B) got me hooked on the show 24. I watched the first 4 episodes that aired last night and the night before and i am wondering what people who have been watching the show for awhile thought about them.

Sooooo wrong . . . so very very wrong. But I'll forgive you, as it's still early and you may not have had your coffee and muffin yet. :)

I mentioned Gary Oldman not because he is a stereotypical villain, but because he is a superb actor. I'd have been happy with ANYONE who brought something more to the role than the sort of glower at the camera which seemed all that Mark Strong was able to contribute.

As for Rachel McAdams . . . yeeeeesh. Ignoring for the moment all of the horrible changes they made to the character of Irene Adler (which is from one of the original stories), McAdams was simply awful. And there was zilch chemistry between her and Robert Downey.

Still, my biggest problem with the film is that it was a Guy Ritchie movie. I.e., it was an "action" film, with far more violence than is ever present in the original stories, and not nearly enough in the way of cerebral dexterity on display.

It's too bad; other aspects of the film were worthwhile, and I think Downey and Law were reasonably decent. However, the only TRUE Sherlock Holmes on film remains Jeremy Brett. So it has been, and so shall it always be.

I liked the Sherlock Holmes movie. It entertained me so it doesn't really matter to me if it wasn't true to the literary characters. I'm looking forward to a sequel.

Hmmm, you think?

I'd say that Brenda looks more likely to admonish -- severely! -- anyone daring to take the sign at its word.
