I found a pretty good place for AOs, stands and such etc. Cheap prices from 10L - 16L each and about 300L for a fully loaded AO. Nice animations although there are definitely some that are hit or miss. I'm not a big fan of the ones that move too much and it looks like you're a tweaker. One other interesting note is this store offers a lot of their poses in adult, teen and child versions. Worth checking out!

Picked up some hair from Cake/FKNY and a new outfit from Shiki. Woot!

Nifty!

I was just thinking yesterday that I needed to do some work on my AO. I think I have just two stands in it! :p

I had a similar situation with my last dog, Bear. He was an absolutely wonderful Shepherd/Rotweiller mutt, the most lovable yet protective dog imaginable. He got to about 12 or so and had a moderate stroke. For a couple of months he had good days and bad days. One day he was laying in his favorite spot in the kitchen, and went into the living room to watch tv. After awhile he came in and put his head in my lap and looked at me. I talked to him a bit, stroked him and he got up and went back to his spot. A little while later, I went to check on him and he was gone. It was as if he knew and wanted to say goodbye.

So sorry to hear about your loss. You can tell from the photos he was a very sweet soul.

I had visitations in dreams from both my Malteses about a week after they passed. I hope that happens for you too.

Okay, this is a little out of the blue, but, any Townes Van Zandt fans here?

I'm guessing it wont mean much if you are not a fan or familiar with him but New Years day we went to the 13th Annual Townes Van Zandt wake at the Old Quarter in Galveston.

Rex "Wrecks" Bell, also a singer songwriter and longtime friend of Townes is the owner of the Old Quarter. Each year on Jan 1 they hold this wake. About 80 people crammed into this small bar that would comfortably hold 40 people. Half the crowd or more were musicians. They all took turns on the stage playing Townes Van Zandt songs. It was one of the most memorable events I've attended in quite some time.

I'd heard of him, but hadn't listened to any of his music in quite a while. That shindig sounds (heh) as if it was a blast. :)

Your skin is great! It's nice to see someone not virtually botoxed for a change in SL!

Thank-you :) I picked up the skin sometime last year as I was randomly exploring. Found myself in a Japanese sim, spotted some neat skin and well . . a year later you see/saw the pictures I posted above.

Looking closer, the skin came part of an avatar created by a Japanese CG Artist.

I'm guessing that song would sound a lot like the last minute and a half of this one.

Lol This is the kind of song I used to hate for customers to play over and over on the juke box back when I was a bartender. I kind of like it once and a while now. Momma! we forgot Momma.

I like his Stones cover a lot:

But I'm probably more of a fan of the other Van Zandt:

That sounds like an excellent event to attend or participate in. Had you been before this year? I hadn't realized he died - or more likely I forgot.

Kind of a coincidence that today my husband is out of town at a memorial get together for a musician friend who is well known in some small circles. I woke up with a head-ache so I stayed home. (I feel better now, but still not sure if I'm going to get through the day without taking some meds.)

Art Clokey dies at 88; creator of Gumby

I often wonder what motivates someone or why they do what they do.

From: someone
Despite Gumby's positive demeanor, his origins stem from tragedy. When [Art] Clokey was 9, his father was killed in a car crash. He lived with his mother for a while, but when her second husband made her choose between him and her son, Clokey was sent to an orphanage. Fortunately, he was adopted by a good family. But Clokey wouldn't forget his father, whose head shape - characterized by a cowlick hairdo - would later provide the inspiration for Gumby's trademark lopsided head.

I had a budgie named Gumby lol.

"If you've got a heart, then Gumby's a part of you."

RIP in Art

@Brenda - Happy rez day!

Wow, what a day! Fun day, busy day, good day. I can't tell you everything that happened, but I needed to buy a new laptop to replace the cool one I'd been using from work.

For $300 bucks, I picked up this little Samsung netbook. I just got finished setting it up (for the most part). It's so tiny! It has both the "wee" factor and the "whee!" factor.

It took a while to figure out how to shut off the irritating feature that makes the mouse automatically click if your cursor pauses too long over something. Oooh, I hate that!

SL looks kind of cartoony, but I can live with that until I get a big computer again.

Happy Rez Day Brenda! Nice of the Jets to get a playoff win for you for your Rez Day.

Hiya Kaimi, What a perfect Rez Day getting for Brenda.

This is the first year we attended the Townes Van Zandt wake, but it's already penciled in on the calendar for next year. Steve Van Zandt is another of my favorites. Usually when I mention Townes people think of him or Ronnie Van Zandt from Lynyrd Skynyrd. I've always thought it was it was a shame that Townes wasn't more when know outside of songwriter circles.

I hope the head-aches go away soon.

Also, brrrrr, it's cold here. Headed back down into the lows 20's again tonight. I have no clue how people survive living in place where cold weather is the norm.

Unfortunately, that $300 netbook is too little. I can't use it. I have to bring it back and get a bigger one.

You go into the Control Panel > Mouse.

Under Device Settings tab, click on the Settings button.

A little window will open. In the left pane of that window, click on "Tapping"

in the right pane, unclick "Enable Tapping".

I know what you mean, Tex. I think there are a lot of people out their with amazing talent and skills who would be more well known if they'd been in the right place at the right time.

I hear you, Brother. Brrr... I am so spoiled by living here. My tolerance for cold gets whimpier all the time. I know this is apocryphal, and limited to one small mini-climate location and time span, but I remember when it wasn't unusual in the winter here in my neighborhood to find frost on the grass and a layer of ice on the bird bath in the early morning. It's been over 15 years since the last time.
