Wow, it's been a busy day or two here in the thread.

Seven, good luck with the job hunting. With your spirit and positive attitude the lucky one will be your new employer.

Claire, I hope you feel better soon.

Lil, big hug, so sorry to here about Spanky.

Mo, thanks for the Texas breakfast.

Brenda, sounds like you had a great time. The Beers of the World thing certainly caught my eye. As far as the Jets go, couldn't they have just lost that last game and let my Texans have a turn in the playoffs?

It's near freezing here still and it looks like it might stay that way for a while. I think I'll follow Malia's lead and look for some unfinished business when I get home today.

I hope I haven't missed anyone.

Be well and stay warm! :)

I just looked in this thread after however long it was I was away from it. And it took me right to the last page when I did "go to first unread post" or whatever the post was.

Um, if anybody said anything to me or about me . . sorry, I have no idea where to find that now. Or where I was last in this thread. I will start with today.

Welcome back Soji.

I don't ever go back when I miss days. Maybe just the last two pages. I just jump on and start from where I am too.

Tex, I think it was a physical impossibility for the Jets to lose that game. As a fan, even I will admit they were dealt a good hand, just as they were the week before against the Colts. The Bengals did not show up for that game at all. but, thems the breaks. You have to play the cards as you get them. I expect to see a better effort from the Bengals tomorrow.

Oh, I almoist forgot. On a humorously ironic note, when I was down in Orlando, Walt's grandson got busted on a posession charge. :p

Thank-you and happy new year :)

I normally try to see if anyone responded to anything I wrote whenever I left, then I skip up to the present week, or day. This time I didn't have a choice, though. It dropped me a post that was from noon today. So it didn't even bring me to this morning, but to noon. ("it", is that "View First Unread" link).

I did not, no. And now the week is over. At least the work week. In another 2 hours.

I did notice the word "subversion" in that there link and am alarmed and confused.

Claire - feel better!

Lil - *hug* Doggies are so hard to let go. I'm sure he's in the Happy Hunting Grounds now.

Brenda - Mentioning Christmas - I'm working in a Catholic hospital - and we had dozens of groups of carolers, parties, etc - and it was sort of nice to see Christmas really done for Christmas' sake, not for billions of presents and commercialism. I'm not Christian, but it was a lovely holiday this year.

I'm off to nap before work. Hugs to all!

One of the reasons I went to Cancun at Christmas. It was still hot, but it was December hot, not June hot.

An excellent idea; I was in Cancun in August. It was August hot....

A little thing from my inbox that I thought was funny:

Inner Peace

I am passing this on to you because it definitely works and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Oprah show, you too can find inner peace. Dr. Oz proclaimed,

'The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished.'

So, I looked around our house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving for church this morning, I finished off a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Tequila, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of my rum cake, also the Black Russian Cake, some Doritos, and a box of Godiva chocolates. I never made it to church........You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now.
Thanks for the chuckle. That was immediately copied and sent out in email.

I sometimes find it harder to let the four legged ones go it seems. maybe it's because they put so much trust in us and love us so unconditionally. It's a small comfort, but i've always felt it a bit easier to take when a pet dies by itself as opposed to me having to put it down. There is always that moment of indescision when you pray that it understands what is happening and you are doing what is best for it.
We had been watching him carefully the past few months, knowing we might have to make that call and never really sure whether or not it was time. He has been up and down during those months, but had enough good days that we just couldn't call it yet. It was a bit harder for him to move and breathe this morning, but we have seen times like that too. He did go outside as usual, even if a bit slower than normal and then came in and went to sleep a final time. While it was hard to find him like that, it was much easier than the agony of a really sick one and having to put them down.

In case you haven't heard - I just found out about this:

The SecondLife Science Fiction Convention 2 will be held on January 8 - 10, 2010.

The convention will take place on the islands of Platinum, Pallidium, Iridium and Rhodium.

Admission is free for most everything, but the maximum number of visitors at the same time is limited per island. Scheduled events will begin on Friday, January 8 at noon Pacific Time and end on Sunday, January 10 at 9 p.m. Pacific Time. Special events may have an attendance cost and are first come first served. We will be raising funds for the American Cancer Society.

Thank-you :) Well, I am a tiny kitty (in my form picture at least), so overlooking me is understandable. I did get distracted and walk into the door though. I couldn't see it. :( They keep it too clean.
