...

So, thank you, Kaimi....for all you do, each and every day, but especially at this time of year..for taking the time to put together these daily updates. *hugs*
Thank you Mo, I'm usually very good at expressing myself and especially expressing affection but I really can't think of how to tell you and everyone here in our little thread how much love I feel in my heart for you all.

I have seen today's stage with my husband and will watch it again when my son and grandson come over. I really do like to watch cycling :o . I'll be back with a report later.

[/IMG]You are too good to me. I'll be hungry for this in a few hours. It also reminds me of our rl lunch together. That was SO-o-o-o great.

Your moving adventure is wonderful Mari! I was only just emailing one of my kids to see how her rl moving is going. Maybe she hired a u-haul, but knowing her she has 15 friends with trucks.

Wow, Mari...I didn't realize you were moving. :(

But I love your adventure - and thank you for the link to your snapzilla pics. I'll go take a peek! :)

Yer welcome!

Ya, it's not the happiest of stories, really. My SL parents split up 'round February of 2008, an aren't on a lot anymore. Us kids also found it sad to stay around the big empty house without our folks, too (this is why I got the place in Shermerville). Well, without good work, the tier was eatin' too much money to keep land we weren't usin' much -- so... it was movin' time. :-(

Been there and done that IRL!

For the record: three crashes, one call to Live Chat to "unghost" my avatar, two times waiting for the next sim to reboot, and roughly 50 sim crossings.

I wandered around the NYC sim with the 9-11 Memorial a bit more today.

The landing point is at the base of the Statue of Liberty:

New York is a great walking city, but I decided to hop into a cab. I had a very nice driver, although he was a bit wierd. I think his name was Ignatowski:

Visiting with my friend this weekend. As I said, it turns out he has an SL account, but is very much the newbie. So we friended each other. First thing I did was get him to put on a bald cap - he had both prim and avatar hair. Then got him an AO.

Found one of Skell's old posts to get a list of freebie blogs for men. Brought him to some clothes stores, but he quickly got bored.

Brought his avatar to Oxbridge and showed him around. He still hasn't figured out how to fly and how to teleport. AND he has a Mac - one of the first things in Oxbridge is a note for Mac users. He was very happy with the place.

Showed him my house on Watchman and the one Moth is building.

At the moment I'm pretty tired because we spent all yesterday in real life chasing down different things he wanted to see.

@ Snickers - pretty! Where from? And is it trans? Hera might like that but she doesn't go shopping- they would have to deliver.
Isn't it cool? I love it. Here's the store:

Hummingbird Designs

And yes the outfit is Transfer OK. In fact, I picked up one for my alt who never goes anywhere. :D

EDIT: Just noticed that the outfit is no longer a freebie -- it's $250L which is pretty considering how nice it looks.

The weapons used by the Mexican drug cartels aren't coming from gun shops or gun shows. They are coming from international arms dealers.
I have friends who go to Mexico all the time and are pretty familiar with what goes on. They say most of the guns are sold to the cartels by members of the Mexican Army and police forces -- who get their weapons legally from US and foreign sources.

Lexxi, you need your sleep! Other than the sleepiness, are you feeling OK --i.e., you're not getting sick, are you?

I think so many of us who love SL...spend a leetle bit too much time inworld (myself included :o )...shortchanging ourselves of much needed sleep.

And...re: your morning routine - can you put an alarm clock on the opposite side of your bedroom...so you have to get out of bed to turn it off? Two of my siblings found this to be quite useful....

It isn't really related to SL, as I literally did not have access to SL when this started. Well, access to any computer. The tiredness thing.

I'm slightly confused by your alarm clock suggestion, as I noted that I'm having no problem waking up in the morning. "I've been having no problems waking up on time"

I believe it is directly related to walking about about 50 blocks a day for three days in New York. (it is roughly 25 blocks between train station and hotel, and I did that two days, and walked more than just that distance; the day I didn't go to or from train station, I went about 32 blocks just walking in the morning, and more in afternoon).

This is the slurl for the place with the odd pictures from last night. Here is the contents of the Note Card I was given:

BRYN OH PREVIEW! The storybook sim-wide creation that helps us to understand what happened to the Rabbicorn... Created by Bryn Oh and curated by Tezcatlipoca Bisiani, sitting on one of the two IBM art sims is opening now, just for ImpIRL. The public opening will be on Friday. Be sure to drop in before tomorrow, Friday at 6pm SLT, because after that, this is going to be a zoo, and Bryn is only going to allow 5 people in at a time. "

LOL...I completely misread your paragraph about waking up on time. :o :p Glad to know that's not a problem. :D

And yes! Your tired-ness may very well be related to your NY trekking. :)

Did you take pics?

OMG, Mo, how did you know I was planning to make this today???

Marianne, that is the COOLEST moving day in SL, ever!!! I will be moving next week myself, but with less panache. It makes me wish I was moving on a continent too.

Great pics Lil, Claire, Brenda, Amar and Skell. (And anyone I missed mention of!) I so enjoy Skell's many different looks.

Nice pics Mari. Stupid question though, what happens if your mom and dad stop logging in all together? Is there like an SL orphanage you can RP at or something? Or do you just become wild children with no parents or rules and mess up the house?:D
