After a rough week of a teacher training course and feeling sad about my cat, I'm behind in my thread reading as usual. The preceding pages are too many to comment on, but I'm glad you all are here. Loved Madhu's pic of her 2 shapes. I finally had a chance to get into SL and do some exploring. I have been remiss in not visiting the Rezzable sims, so hearing that they will be leaving SL, I hurried over to visit two of them today, Crimson Shadow and Tunnel of Light. I have posted pics of both sims in my blog: http://maliawriter.blogspot.com/And here's an obligatory vanity pic from Crimson Shadow:

I'll talk more about it in my weekend update late Sunday, but today was moving day. The day we cleared the land of the SL home I've been in forever (Three years and four months, and nearly as long as I've been in SL). To make it official, we drove my U-Haul truck from around where I lived in Hundertwasser to the new (and much smaller) home in Shermerville NW. One is on the south-east edge of the continent, the other is near the north-west edge. I followed the roads as best I could, starting in Darling (the closest road to Hundertwasser) and going up to Noyo, then picking up in Dore and finishing in Shermerville NW at the new home. Piccies? Of course. A whole album worth. Interesting way to see the world. Was also interesting to see how many places I recognized. http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/AlbumView.aspx?id=2327

From: Lindal Kidd OK...so she's been to the Hangout, but doesn't hang out on the forums. That narrows it down, but makes it more difficult, too. Lindal, I pictured you asking residents are random "Are you Lil's mother?" It put me in mind of this: (I tried to cover "My" with "Lil's" but I can't edit the image.) .

It made me so sad as a kid that my mom would threaten to read it to me when I was acting up. Talk about tough love! I wouldn't trade her for the world though.

From: Kaimi Kyomoon I agree, both look great to me and much realer than most. I think Madhu and Carter look amazing. I've really enjoyed watching Carter as she hits her stride.

From: Kaimi Kyomoon Today for Stage 7 Le Tour De France went into the Pyrenees, a 224km route that was pretty much uphill all the way, getting steeper and steeper. Imagine my glee when I realized that Brice Feillu, a French rider on the French team Agritubel, riding in his first ever Tour de France, was in the nine man breakaway that got 11 minutes ahead of the peloton early in stage. I first heard of young Brice a few days ago when I chose him as the last pick on my fantasy cycling team, based on his rock bottom price and the fact that he shares the last name of Roman Feilu, a sprinter I had already picked – who it turns out, is, as I had hoped, his brother. Players get to pick 15 riders for their fantasy teams and then choose which 9 will ride each day. Imagine my chagrin some time later when I realized that of course I had not chosen this unknown guy for today. Team Astana – with their four possible Tour winners, set the pace for the rest of the field all day. And current overall leader's Yellow Jersey wearer, Fabian Cancellara stuck right with them for a long time. Which was pretty good for a guy who is more of a time trial specialist than a climber. Eventually, though he, and most everyone else fell back. Several of his Saxo Bank teammates did stay with the contenders at the front, including the guy they are hoping will win the Tour, Andy Schleck. In the final km, on a steep ascent, 2007 Tour winner Alberto Contador of team Astana left the other big names behind, gaining 2 seconds on his teammate Lance Armstrong and moving into second place overall. Moving into first place overall was another first timer, from the breakaway, Italian Nocentini Rinaldo of team AG2R. And my boy Brice won the stage!!! Chagrin chagrin. Pictures here. Today's results: Current standings: You know...there are many reasons why I enjoy these updates. One....well..because they come from Kaimi! Two....I stopped getting the daily newspaper a while back so I only check sports-related news online, and your updates are way better. Three...knowing just a little bit about the race makes me feel a part of the global community. It's like the World Cup, only a bit better, since the Tour is an annual event. Four: because you care so much about the race, and your enthusiasm is infectious. So, thank you, Kaimi....for all you do, each and every day, but especially at this time of year..for taking the time to put together these daily updates. *hugs*

From: Lexxi Gynoid I'm too tired to look now, but I literally fell forward on my bed and went to sleep moments after I posted that last post last night. I think it was around 11pm. The one with the pictures in it. Light was on, somewhere in my mind was the idea of "ok, a nap might be goooddd zzzzzz". Woke up around 1am to turn off my light and computer. Then back to bed. I just can't seem to stay up lately.
On the other hand, and probably directly related, I've been having no problems waking up on time and getting to work before or at the time I'm supposed to be there (except for a few times when I'd have arrived a half hour or so before start time, but the train decided to stop moving for an hour at a time before deciding to move again).
Oh, I only mentioned the tiredness thing, because I feel myself slipping into sleep. And it isn't even 9pm yet! Lexxi, you need your sleep! Other than the sleepiness, are you feeling OK --i.e., you're not getting sick, are you? I think so many of us who love SL...spend a leetle bit too much time inworld (myself included )...shortchanging ourselves of much needed sleep. And...re: your morning routine - can you put an alarm clock on the opposite side of your bedroom...so you have to get out of bed to turn it off? Two of my siblings found this to be quite useful....

From: Amaranthim Talon Seeing the time I think I shall bed down- but first a couple of pictures- Tonight Steely and I went to a fantastic place you simply must see! It is a build by the NPIRL people and I will happily tell u guys where it is tomorrow cause i forgot to get a slurl. To say it was impressive and that i was awestruck woudl not do it justice. I was not the only one who had a marvelous night, Damien and Hera danced and it was wonderful. You know what they say- there's no place like home. Assorted pics from this link: I have no idea what that first picture is of, but it's really cool. And of course...I love seeing Hera and Damien, at home, enjoying music, dancing, and each other.
