You guys may have already seen this, but here is a very cute and funny blog post that is similar to what happened to Seven.
http://emeraldwynn2.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-mother-and-second-life.html

That is exactly the thing. I loved this line:

"Maybe I'll make an avatar . . . and come to that place and tell you to get off that couch and go find a real job."

I *have* a real job, though and an active life.

My mother thinks of SL as an interactive TV show. In her mind, all of you are my imaginary friends. That, IN SPITE OF THE FACT that she knows three other people who use SL.

Sometimes I say, "So-and-so says hello." She says, "Oh, did he call?" I say, "No, I ran into him in Second Life just now."

She waves her hand dismissively. My friend didn't *really* say hello.

The whole thing came up because she likes to make comments on news websites, and she read me some that were actually very funny and had a lot of punch.

She was talking about her latest, and I said (suddenly inspired), "Mom! You should have a blog! I can set it up for you. There are some cool blog communities where you could-"

Her eyes narrow and she cuts me off. "I know why you want me to do that. You would use it as an excuse to do more Second Life."

My jaw drops. "What!?"

But I will *never* do what Emerald did - I will NEVER let my mother use my account. So if I'm acting weird, it's just *me* acting weird. It's not my mother.

:p That wasn't a wink, it was a gloat. It said "Ain't I the luckiest feller in the room?"

Hi everyone! I'm not gone...just facing a Friday deadline. *wave*

Lucky. . .yes. no argument there.

"Luckiest" however, is most certainly open to debate.

Oh, thanks for posting that pic. Now I can see what Cristalle really looked like, instead of the "incomplete" look on my screen.

I just realized from 3Ring's picture how nice the redecoration was! Is it still that way? And the dramatic sky - was that LL? or was it a screen?

Seven - this story and the other you just told are priceless.

I think YOU should start a blog of the things YOUR family says to you about SL. It's sounding very comedic. I know I'd read it :)

I'm not sure why, but the idea of being someone's imaginary friend appeals to me.

Indeed. The whole reason for the early request was Ghosty has a preliminary interview this afternoon for a new job and we're taking the ride together. We were concerned about the timing because this first interview isn't where the job is - it's like an hour south of here, although the job is close to home.

BTW it was good seeing you guys there too - and your dress was amazing. I got a closer look today with all the Flickr pix, camming around last night was a bit rough, and it was one of the lovliest of the evening.

Oooh! Fingers crossed for Ghosty. :)

And thank you very much for your compliment about my dress. It's from Icing...called "Temptation." :)

I'm a sucker for those Grace Kelly-type gowns. :) Probably because I have nowhere to wear them, in RL!! :D

I make calculations, create the pieces, fill in the position and size numbers, and the piece snaps into place! (And then somehow needs many many adjustments.)

i now believe you are a builder. :D

i can't wait to see your new build! please post pics when you finish!
