From: Rioko Bamaisin I hope that everyone can go to the new forums when this closes down or it just won't be the same. BTW for the record-Eli is even cuter in person and a fantastic dancer and um other things. Not sure if I can glare at him anymore for you Brenda. I took blackmail pics, but damn if I know where they were actually saved on my computer. I suck at this blackmail thing. This is why you must learn to name your photos such things as "Eli Grabbing My Ass" or "Eli Giving Me a Hickey". Then you could have done a search on your computer for the words "Ass" or "Hickey" would most likely are nowhere else in your system (one would hope). That, or cough up the $10L and keep them in your inventory. Or you could have just asked me. You could have just tossed me some of those Xanax and I would have done it for free

I am beginning to so not get all this hysteria about the forums closing. If you look at the type of forums LL is replacing these with, the format isn't that different from these: http://forums.cnet.com/5204-6130_102-0.html?forumID=50&tag=rb_mtx;f06-fdThat is CNETs "off topic" forum. Notice that these ARE NOT like SL Answers, they are actual forums. Yes, functions are missing, particularly user preferences, but if you look at the Jive documentation, most of those are available as options that CNET decided not to offer (for example, New Posts). And, Blue has stated that he's willing to work with Jive to get more. What types of things? Here's one I would add: though Jive replaces emoticon text with the emoticon, the reply entry screen doesn't have a panel to choose an emoticon. Easy enough to add. Plus, Blue has volunteered to get the new forums search to automagically search threads in this forum along with threads in the new forum. So, WHAT EXACTLY is the big deal?

I think my ass still hurts too. I found them, none of him man-handling me though, just dancing lol.Damn it,I kept missing the important shots. He almost dropped me in this one....

personally, i'm going to try the new forum when it's all boxed up and ready to roll. everyone is already here, so why change to some new place and lose touch with LOTS of poeple? in a perfect world, we all just navigate over with a minor learning curve and even less frustration (and pray we can use it much the way we use this forum). i'm being open minded - and all the hysteria came from the original announcement some months ago, which basically explained that the new forum would be much like yahoo answers. while it now appears that LL is trying to expand on that and make it more client friendly, that wasn't the case in the beginning. so we'll just have to wait see what Blue can pull out of his magic hat...

It all depends on how it's setup and administered. If there will be a place for general conversation and socializing, like here , then fine. That's why I come here.I couldn't care less about 90% of the bells and whistles anyway, I don't use them. But if it's a dry, strictly stay on topic and don't dare crack a joke type of place, then I am not interested. I'll wait to see. With all respect to Blue apparent and his sincerity, I don't trust anything that comes from LL in any official capacity until it happens.
I still don't like detached , outsourced moderators, and the inworld ban connection. That alone may be enough to keep me away.
One thing is certain, I will not be playing that stupid "give me a point for answering your question" game.

From: Rioko Bamaisin I took blackmail pics, but damn if I know where they were actually saved on my computer. I suck at this blackmail thing. I know exactly what you mean. Mine seem to go to any one of four different places, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. To make matters worse, sometimes the snapshot window is set to send the picture by email. I NEVER do that. How in the world does it get changed? And that suggestion about naming? The viewer names all the pictures you take whatever the first one is named and puts numbers after them. Phhlplplplp!

I was shopping with Iz earlier in the evening and took a couple of pics cause I am a dweeb and like to take pics of anything. So I named it shopping. Now every single pic I took tonight is called shopping 01 etc..... Annoying.

No thread dies. I say goodnight as well.
I've had a long day writing book excerpts. The first book is near completion.
If this does happen, you got SLU.

One would think, but like Weston mine usually end up in three or four places. My computer is a mess though, it has a mind of it's own. Does all kinds of whacky things. Morning threadies. I feel so refreshed with my 3 hours of sleep. Hopefully Maureen hurries out of bed soon with coffee.

And if they mean to go to something like CNET -- well, what is the current version about then? If you're buying a car, and you tell the salesperson the one you want, but he keeps sitting you in another car, a crappier car, you keep saying, "Hey, that's the one I want over there!" And he says, "Yes, yes, that's the car you're going to get, but sit in this one for now." You have to know that he wants to sell you the crappy one. I'm not hysterical, btw. If there is NO forum at all after SL Answers takes over, I will be sorry, but I won't cry. I do want to try the alternatives before the door shuts. And if LL pops out a different solution, I'll give it a fair shot. But they seem all proud and happy of SL Answers. Blue's offhand comment doesn't change my expectations. .

From: Maureen Boccaccio Good morning, Threadies! And some breakfast: Watch this! If I make my eyes big and sad enough and try to look really small and mistreated, I can get some of that quiche (or omelet or whatever). Works every time. Today my keyboard guy is staying home from work with the plague or some such. Shouldn't have spent the weekend at a convention in hot crowded rooms with strangers from all over the country. But at least I'll get to follow the thread when he's not sleeping off a fever.
