Do we know for sure if the forums are being closed,or is this all speculation? I try not to read too many other threads here,so pardon my ignorance.

Oh THAT, I was expecting something related to me reading at work at all, not what I read.
I am far more a user of these forums than SLU.

Well I have been at SLU for nearly a year now, so I am not sure what about that is predictable.

With regards to what I posted about Prok's banning. Yes I think it was extremely bad and should not have been done. In the post you referenced I wanted to highlight the problem with LL over bannings, nothing more.
Yes I do have problems with some of the attitudes from some people on SLU (especially when the Prok bashing starts), but that is the same here also. I have taken long breaks from both forums due to things I have become disgusted over. However there are also other people there that have nothing to do with that original (or any other) problem who are worth sticking around for.

I do think it's cool so many residents are into SF though. Of course it should be expected. Who better to embrace the virtual world?

SLU? It's okay, but just doesn't have the same atmosphere. It seems borderline rude sometimes - as if this place isn't. It's a different level of rudeness maybe.

I have high hopes for 3Ring's place, but I am not automatically assuming an invitation.

Look at it this way though, LL did what they did to Prok and yet you are still here on these forums. That is really no different from me or anyone else being on SLU is it?

Also, you wrongly assumed that I went to SLU after I said about waiting to decide. I was referring to waiting to see before I decide whether to stay with the new blog/forums, go to 3Ring's place or stick solely with SLU.

I think when it's gone it will just be gone- 3-ring gave us a home and some of us have gone over there and started it up. But realistically speaking- unless there is a steady influx of people, it wd all be the same and a side of.

I don't really know SLU - i post in the sales stuff and have popped into the BDSM one and a couple times- certainly not enough to develop a presence. I am at a loss really - i do need and enjoy these communities.
I have been a member of one completely unrelated forum with thousands of users where i still hold RezMod status though I havent been there in about four years - I am still known and remembered in an offshoot of another where though competely unexpected anymore, when i do pop in folks still know who i am and happily wave and avoid asking whats become of me 'cause they know i abandoned them for SL - the only other place I have been a 'member' of for a longer period is a Gorean board that just doesn't fit where I am in my life anymore - so - if this place goes, I fear I will be rather homeless. I will go to 3's but unless something can insure its growth with fresh people, it will have echoes down the halls.

the disappointment is that RA as a collective are beginning to flock over to be mere minions, not that people post there. many of the people over there are on my friends list and i talk/see them daily afterall.
i wasnt speaking of you in particular, rather RA in general.

OK fair enough but what else would you have them do? There are not too many options available really.

id rather see one, or all three of these places take over rather than see everyone march off to slu single-file. i think the reality is that people arent willing to put in any effort at all though, and will opt for the ready made community.

Of course you would and it is obvious why. I doubt expressing disappointment like this and using words like "minions" is going to convince anyone not to go though.

I just signed up over at the Forum Cartel site, nice job that Slack did over there. I'm signed up at 3Rings place too, however, I've been having lots of trouble signing in there, even with her giving me a new password.

Not sure yet which one I'll use more, I think it depends on where more people wind up. I've been at SLU, but just never got comfortable over there and as others have mentioned, it isn't exactly work friendly and as it turns out, the new job will allow me to use the internet so I should be able to pop in during the daytime now and then, once I settle in (yea for design offices not being all stuffy about people using the intrawebz).

BTW, what's up with the t-shirt contest at the Hangout? I noticed there should have been voting already but I don't remember getting any notices about submissions coming through. You'd think with all the members and the creativity floating around here there would have been many people that came up with possibilities, no?
