Hiding in my room away from the rest of the family. They're watching football (ick) and I'm getting a headache from the amount of screaming at the TV they're doing.
On the plus side, I've found that the sun hits my bed in the most perfect way so I can lie back and read a book and be really comfy while working on a bit of a tan.

I know this is bad, very bad of me, but the thing about the flag reminds me of this story by James Thurbur where his neighbors thought he was a communist because he put a big American flag outside his house.

(If you need to spank me for that, send me an IM inworld.)

My poor love :( - I go back to work myself tomorrow so end of my semi vacation boohoo- Today we are just going to be out and about with no goals in mind. I hope I can get back in world to continue on my latest obsessive build :)- i have about three things going on actually.

Hey 3, good morning!! Oh 3- this morning Marcel pointed me at exactly the perfec thing I needed for my build! I guess I am not good at asking the right questions in XStreet - so that matter is solved and I will be able to instal my poses later this evening or tomorrow.

PM's cleared.

Have a good day Threadites. Hugs and kisses about as they are needed- help your selves :D

Morning erm, nearly good afternoon. Heading out to the market to p/u grilling essentials. Purchased a good sized Weber charcoal grill Friday (I have a gas one at "the other house" but who knows when it will arrive at this rate so we broke and got this one) Was going to test drive it last night but the rain hit. So, it was buffalo burgers on the cast iron stovetop grill instead - tasty, but not what we were hoping for.

Today I think I'm going to do my mom's grilled chicken recipe *if* I can remember the marinade; pretty sure about the ingredients (soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, ketchup and tabasco) but the measurements are another story. Prolly grill up some fresh corn with it, concoct some kind of Asian inspired potato salad since the marinade has soy sauce in it and I have a ton of cilantro growing on our deck that needs using up.

/me goes to check weather.com to check on the possibility of thunderstorms late in the day...

Yesterday, we had a small parade go right by our living room window, much to our surprise - sort of. I knew there was one scheduled, but the paper didn't mention that it was going to be passing by on our block. Some marching bands (was confused why one from Staten Island was here tho), old time vehicles (original cop cars and fire trucks from the town), vets from various wars, the prerequisite police playing bagpipes, etc. Pretty entertaining interlude to watch from our windowseat. I think Ghosty took some pix, however, he hasn't loaded them up yet and I don't know if the screen got in the way :p

Anyway, hope my fellow Statespeople are enjoying their holiday weekend and those who are not here, are having a great day in general :) Over and out!

You are having the perfect all-American Memorial Day weekend. It was one of my favorite holidays when I was a cab driver in Kansas. All morning long taking taking people with bowls of potato salad and red white and blue cakes to picnic areas and back yards. Barbeques going all over town, warm weather, happy families, etc.. I hope Threadhearts and everyone are enjoying it today as much as I remember those folks doing back then.

About that flag thing.
http://ga3.org/campaign/starflagact
From: someone

In Ohio recently, a woman who had a son in Iraq was told by her condominium association that she couldn’t put a Blue Star service flag in her window, signifying that she had a loved one in harms’ way.

Congressman John Boccieri, an Iraq war veteran who VoteVets.org PAC supported in his election, has introduced legislation guaranteeing that Blue Star Families and Gold Star Families (those who lost a loved one) can put a service flag in their windows in any residential property, without limitation. This bill just makes common sense.

We’re supporting his Blue Star/Gold Star Flag Act of 2009 (H.R. 2546) and are asking you to take today to join us in our petition to Congress to immediately pass the bill.

Seems odd. Remember, this texture is in every avatar's library:

Are we hearing the whole story, really? If so, then yes, definitely file a ticket protesting the warning. But, if the flag just happened to be doing more than waving, perhaps shouting slogans or something .... then, no.

No Nika it was a flag... not a billboard no blinking no shouting slogans no gestures or animations just a flag
