I'm not surprised. I was cold most of the time I was at my daughter's house in Oregon - in August.

Actually I was really happy to note that the high temp up there was 57F and I didn't actually need a sweatshirt! I guess I am acclimating, as much as I'm embarrassed to admit. :o

Re: sheets in AZ... putting them straight on the bed from the washer was always a very cool way to spend the evening, and then they're perfectly fresh the next morning. I don't think that would work up here. I'd end up with moldy sheets!

Back some 30yrs ago I met some people when i was building houses in Lousiana that came from Seattle, they said that they had sunshine so rare that you worked in the rain and when the sun came out it was time to take the day off and go to the beaches.

G'night an G'mornin, everybuggy! Whew, this ended up bein even later, cuz my darn Internet decided to be all screwy! Hope ya'll had a super weekend, including those in the states celebrating Memorial Day.

My weekend started (after some time at the SL Volunteer Appreciation party, which totally rocked!) with the prom at HardKnock Elementary. Ya we might be a bit young f'r a prom, but it was still fun. My friend (who I should prob'ly remind that while he is a BOY and a FRIEND, he is not a BOYFRIEND) picked me up at home an we went to din din at th' Arbor an stuff before goin to the dance. It was a lot of fun. He even dropped me off at home afters which was really nice of him Here's a piccie of us from the dance.

Saturday, well, was a really big important First Life day f'r me, so I wasn't around too much. When I was around, I mostly spended my time watching the Hau Koda infohub get built. It's themed around an Art Deco style airport, an Misty Mole was doing interior work all day. A buncha us who work in Bay City were all lined up outside the area, jes watchin'. It was kinda funny. Anyway, it looks super so far. I really like the "powder rooms" with posing stands an stuff.

Sunday was a Bay City Alliance meeting which - no surprise - was held near the under construction hub. A lot of the group ushed for some time to get that hub actually constructed, so it's good to see it being done.

We had a big backyard barbecue that afternoon, inviting over a bunch of folks in the neighborhood an otherwise. It was kinda fun to do, with jes a random assorting of folks about, an even getting a "namecheck" from KONA radio (which was what we were playin). Seemed jes right f'r Memorial Day weekend to have grilled burgers an friends over.

I then spent some time exploring, including some hiking in the Lost Forest right around Rodeo (which is the piccie below), an some time completing the quests in Chakryn Forest. That was particularly fun, as a lady who was a witch was there, an me an my sis traded hints with her. Actual hints too, not "go look behind the tree over there" or "here, use this LM." More like poetic hunts and clues formed spur of the moment, an not giving everything away too easily. I love random great roleplayin' moments like that

Monday I spent the morning at... ya, Hau Koda where the hub is bein built. But this time flyin in planes with friends. An unlike any other darn school in the U.S., there was school at HardKnock yesterday. We turned in our final projects an also did our class photo for the yearbook. Here's our class!

Yay HardKnock class of 2009! Graduation is this comin weekend - Like the prom, it's also different that we graduate every year. It's someting special to end the year with, I think, even if most of us will be back again come fall!

After school, I spended some time jes at th' house, runnin my lemonade stand. I sold five whole glasses!

An that's the weekend!

An jes f'r fun... more piccies!

One heck of a Teddy Bear Picnic at the SL Volunteer/Mentor Appreciation Day:

Another prom shot. I took a lot of piccies form the prim, an din din before, an even at home afters 'round the limo Johnny got f'r the night. This is one of those after piccies:

A shot from the barbecue:

Exploring Chakryn Forest with my sissy an brother. Sorry the piccie is so dark, but when we got there, it was night!

And my "final Project" for HardKnock this year. It's a lot like the Bay City promo video I did, but entirely different too. Still, some of ya might find it entertaining f'r a minute. Itll give some idea of jes what we do at HKE.

Glad it was an extra long weekend, cuz I dun tink I coulda done all that otherwise!

It must be even more difficult to get a group photo of children in SL than in RL!
I mean, no (unintentional) grey textures or ghostly white puff-clouds!

Same here. Did you ever go to the OB December Parade?

I did!! Fun, fun, fun I love how it's at night, so you can see all the holiday lights. :)

Also used to go to the parades on Mission Bay and San Diego Bay, where everyone decorated their boats with lights. :)

Hi!

Hardly post here, though I periodically complain in Jira about them blowing smoke up our butts about the "eventual" forum upgrade.

I'm just happy there's been no upgrade... :D

Went to Mt Rainier today... the snow in Paradise, which is like halfway up the mountain, is still nearly 20 ft thick! I'll post pics tomorrow.

Can't wait to see the pics! Glad you had a good time at Mt. Rainier. :)

@Mari: I'm so glad you had fun at the dance, and I think Johnny was quite the gentleman to escort you home afterwards. :)

You outdid yourself on this week's issue of the Mari Weekend Update! :p

I love this pic, because you're out exploring...and you are one of the most well traveled SL explorers I've come across!

Thank you again, Mari, for sharing your weekends with us. :)

Well pooh! Reality check - it's Tuesday and back to wok time around here. Hope everyone manages to get thru the - short!!!- week.

I don't have much SL stuff to share that I haven't already since RL was main focus over the weekend , bu tI am not compalining it was a great time.

3- I will try and get some pix of the shapes in here bfore i leave for wrok but have to get kid up and out for school.

Breakfast looks yum, Mo - and I do apologize for fans of the Troll in the Hole - haven't been in the kitchen much over the weekend so wll hve to try and make up some mucnhies for you later - this weekend in RL I tried Limberger cheese for the first time- that might serve as inspiration. Review on that- amazingly pungent ... to put it midly - think moldy boys' gym shoes.. squared and cubed - but - tastes fantastic! amazing but true!

@ Spike re Japanese food - Husband spent time stationed there wa back when during the Vietnam War - he develped a love for the food (except sashimi- oddly enough) and later learned to cook. He is a great cook nd makes very interesting dishes- he made us escargot as a snack the day before.

Well- off to kick start the day.

Good morning, everyone! I hope y'all survived the long weekend. :)

Not a whole lot to share about my SL weekend. The 777 racetrack is a fun little spot, and they have free demos of a few nice cars to try out.

Yesterday here was sunny, windy, and 65. So....I...got out of the house for a bit.

Afternoon folks!

I think my cat has lost the plot. She just attacked me n left me with a huge scratch down my face and arm. Well, I say attacked....she was having a mad half hour run around the room and I guess I was in her way.
No rain yet though lol. We still have sunshine. I'm gonna have to put the washing out to dry before it goes away.

"interesting"? Like the old Chinese curse? I don't get to the forum much on the weekends.
