"I own a no covenant non estate mature parcel of Land"

meaning that I own the parcel with "No Covenant"

I am not purchasing/leasing/renting the Land from any Estate Management or Land Baron
entity... I pay tier to Linden Labs not a Estate Management Company

my point was to show that I am not under any Estate guidelines or covenants for use,
design etc...


So you can''t display an American flag in mainlad? - There has to be something wrong... they can't be that dumb.

I guess you have to decide how far to push this..

I hate that flags have now become a subject for political correctness. We're not even allowed to put up the St Georges flag on St Georges day as it might be offensive to other people in the UK from Scotland or Wales. Since when is it unacceptable to put up an English flag in England?? Mum's partner got told to take down a spanish flag he brought back from Spain with him during the world cup...no flags were allowed then either.
Oh, and the only flag allowed at the Olymipcs was the Union Jack - no welsh or english or scottish flags....because it was a 'British' team.

hi Derbor: Linden Labs returned the flag and issued a warning that if used in future I could be suspended or banned or both

I think I will submit a ticket but in truth am affraid I then will get banned, I dont want any trouble but I feel this is a huge slap in the face of all the service men and women and veterans

If you get banned for this - then really do you even want to be here? I have said I would not leave SL for many reasons but if LL - an AMERICAN COMPANY - can be un-American i want no part of them and for that I would leave.

I am really hoping there is a lot more to this story and am anxiously awaiting further report on this-

To the OP, Claire mentioned the Union Jack - try throwing up one of those in the same spot and see if it gets thrown back at you. Maybe someone just doesn't like large flags.


ETA: Sorry didn't mean 'to the OP'.....I meant @ Sage. The discussion about the flag got so caught up I kept thinking it was another thread.

It's not obvious to me why anyone shouldn't be allowed to have any flag on their own property. Could it somehow possibly be that it is disrespectful of Old Glory to display it in a virtual environment? Like those people who leave it outside, un-illuminated after dark, or after it has become raggedy?

last night I displayed a large American flag to commerate and support our troups, veterans
and celebration of Memorial Day...today I received the flag returned to my INV and a TOS warning stating the flag was used
to intimidate and HARASS other Second Life patrons and against Linden Labs Community Standards.
Seems odd. Remember, this texture is in every avatar's library:



Are we hearing the whole story, really? If so, then yes, definitely file a ticket protesting the warning. But, if the flag just happened to be doing more than waving, perhaps shouting slogans or something .... then, no.
