Oh, I know what you mean, Amara....

Last year, Max Herzog kindly, yet unwisely, allowed me to try out his new toy, a Spitfire. :o

His comment on this photo:

"Air Cadet Boccaccio's maiden flight doesn't quite go according to plan. "

@ Maureen - OMG, I sure hope they meant "blood oranges" not "bloody oranges" Let alone that's a heck of a lot of food to be considered a healthy breakfast :p

G and I are going to see the Star Trek movie finally today. Our intention was to head into NYC so we could view it in IMAX format. Much to our chagrin, we found out they only show it as a midnight feature in 2 theatres. So much for that. Mind you, they have the followup Night in the Museum IMAX version running all day long, so we're puzzled at the choice they made of which is more important. I suppose - kids rule during the daytime?

Anyhoo, we'll be sticking around here instead, thankfully the theatre nearby is a very good one - great seating so no big deal in the long run. Just would have been nice to hang out in Manhattan for the day, and possibly see Brenda picking up a few sailors ;)

Happy Saturday morning all. Camping has been postponed. My friend's little boy broke his leg yesterday.:( Also,my mom is back in the hospital and things don't sound to good. My brother is heading there this morning to be with her.

Well on the bright side.... eh there really is no bright side today. I think I'll just go back to bed.

Have a good weekend everyone.*hugs*

*hugs* :(

Rio, my best hopes for you.

For those of us in The States, have a safe and enjoyable Holiday weekend, but remember it is about more than cookouts and shopping. As imperfect as it is, we live in a wonderful country, one that many have sacrificed so much for. If there is any type of event near you this weekend, be it a parade, wreath laying, or other ceremony, try to find time to go. If not, then when you open that first beer at the barbecue, take a moment to say "Thank You".

this. thanks for the the beautiful summation, Brenda.

I posted a pic here just a few days ago. Is it ok to do it again? I am not sure if it's good forum etiquette to post here since we have the "Sexy avatar" thread in the gallery too.

And I'm not in here regularly, so I often miss to say "thank you" for comments and compliment others. I will not look rude. This thread speed up several pages in just a day.

Marianne- this Thread is for now at lest a lovely free for all unless someone acts out against the general populace of it, in which case enough complaints gets offending posts removed- other than that, we police ourselves and turn a blind eye to what we do not wish to see. Post away- I myself am guilty of extreme picture posting :)

Heh - I just got "cold feet", lol. I know I'm terrible vain, and since sims rez slower and slower in every upgrade it's mostly pictures of me with a small piece of SL in the background. I envy those who post panoramas of the most pretty and detailed sims. I love my Pixel Barbie doll, but sometimes I just want to take some differnt SL pictures.

I made the mistake of reading that feminist thread this morning. Now I have a splitting headache.

Old pics for you. If you've not visited the 109prims store then not only are you missing out on a fantastic build (you may have seen the glowing white carousel on various Flickr photostreams) but you're also missing out on the incredible wearable vehicles for sale there. Demos are available for everything. These are the three that I ended up buying the full version of: Jack-o'Lantern, Blue Bird's Cage, and My Grandfather's Clock:

Last time I went there, 109prims was situated at: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Drill%20factory/66/128/399

Please let's not call that thread feminist. I know you mean the thread that is pretending its arguments have some validity by by pretending to be about women's rights. But those of us who actually are feminists find that pretty insulting. Although I didn't read much of it so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

Anyway Skell, thanks for the fabulous pictures. You should set up a gallery and sell them.

Ditto to what Amara wrote. I loved your photo and enjoy seeing other peoples photography efforts, especially since my video card is awful. I live vicariously through the stunning work of others and yours was quite amazing. Post away, and you are always welcome to join us for general banter as well :)

I read through that thread and you couldn't pay me to get involved. The views expressed by the OP are not, what I would call "feminist" in my POV either. She is some sort of extremist, won't quantify of what sort. I consider myself a feminist as well, but I certainly do not put myself in her category :p

I LOVE seeing Boomer pics especially the wet ones, because he is obviously enjoying himself so much. He's so lucky to have you, Brenda, to have someone who actually loves him and 'gets' who he is. Great life for him.

Maureen your babies are adorable too, thanks for the puppy pics, made my day.

So - can someone define feminist for me really? The idiots trying to free me from enslavement to being a woman are not speaking for me. What exactly is it that we need freeing from please? As people of the human sort we know and hopefully accept that regardless of what one does in life for a living i mean- regardless of who is doing it, if it is truly equal effort and result they shd get the same pay and i think that is pretty much accepted though of course there are instances when that is tried. We are only human as they say and tere will always be some misguided fool that thinks his or her side is inherently better. Aside from that- as a woman- what iexactly am i supposed to be pissed off and recentful of men? That they are more often than not phisically stronger than i am? Genetics and Natural Order- might as well go scream at the wind. That there are 'traditional' roles for men and for women? So maybe in your home u can change them having found a like minded spirit. Me, I want my doors opened, the garbage taken out and my oil changed. I will take care of the housey stuff (blech! but oh well fair trade off!). The bra burning of the 60's while symbolic did a lot of harm to us full bodied girls ;) happy I missed it. But hey- I am an anarchist more and more each day what do I know?

Anyhoo- i got a house to clean ;) - in and out like the wind!
