Pretty much. I had to lift him up into the car to go home, and he's getting HEAVY.

Hoping to get some work - at least part time. I'm skint and need the money. Plus I want to save up for next year so I wont have to work quite as many hours - more time for study and fun lol.
It's so hard to get a job though! Even though there are a lot of jobs becoming vacant with students leaving to go home etc, I'm really struggling. I'm either over qualified or dont have the experience necessary.

I love when I hear the word over qualified, especially in today's times. If I'm willing to do the work for what you are offering what do you care? They use the cop out that you will be bored and not tend to stay, but half the time they are talking about jobs where people don't stay anyway.

Exactly. I was on a big rant about this today with one of my friends. I'd applied for a job to just do the filing and photocopying for a place, and they responded that I was over qualified and had to much experience.
Sure, but I'm willing to work for peanuts for a job I know is boring. It was a temp job anyway! I'd get it done faster and they'd prolly have to pay less overall than someone who's never stepped foot in an office before.
Grrrrr. It really annoys me lol.

What they really mean to say is that "We don't care that the job pays below you, but we don't want someone with a brain working here that we can't jerk around and intimidate".

the reason you're overqualified...

You're better qualified than the person hiring you for their position!

What a weekend it is for baseball fans in New York. The Mets are up in Boston playing the Sox while the Phillies are at Yankee Stadium. Thanks to interleague play, for these 3 days Yankee fans will be rooting for the Mets and Met fans will be rooting for the Yankees. Only in New York, kids.

Brenda, what are the odds of ever having a Mets-Yankees world series?

It happened in 2000, and as long as both teams are in contention it could happen again.

I wish you were a Yankees fan.....then I could revel again in the 2001 series when the DBacks beat them on what was practically a bunt.

Unfortunately that doesn't wipe out the other 4 they did win over those years. But it is nice to know they haven't been in the series since then.

True......but being a DBacks fan.....that didn't even hope to be at the big show that year....it was stupendous! I am curious though as to why you aren't a Yanks fan.....seems like the Mets are an afterthought next to the Yanks there in NY. Kinda like the Giants and Jets in the NFL.

I was born in the shadow of Shea Stadium, my dad was originally from Brooklyn, he hated the Yankees with a passion. My oldest brother became a Yankee fan just to rebel I think, but my other brother and I are Mets fans.

Rolf and Greta bark hello to Boomer:

This was a very hard pic to take. They barely sat still. :) Greta's obviously had her picture taken a billion times. She's bored with the whole thing now.
Oh they are so nice and so beautiful!
