Apropos to nothing, which means nothing here.
Anyone else getting tired of Lemania's daily barrage of notices? Geez, how many does she send out each day? 3? 4? I love her stuff but this is really getting annoying, so much so I think I'm going to remove myself from the list.

From: Oryx Tempel This is exactly what I do. At first they hated HATED baths but now every time I take my own human bath, they both stand there looking wistful. Plus, since Boomer's a lab, he'll get to like water more as he gets older. He loves water already. When we go out into the woods, or to the lake nearby, he can't get enough. It was just the confinement of the tub I think that made him skittish./ He'll get used to it. I'm also going to get him a kiddie pool, once it warms up a bit. I took him to Pet Goods the other day after his class. Each week after class he gets to pick out a new toy for himself. This week, he made a new friend, a Great Dane "puppy". This dog is 10 months old , already 110 lbs and is the size of a small pony. They were the attraction of the day, rolling around the aisle with each other, they loved it. Talk about The Odd Couple.

Plus I'm on only once a week or so, it just piles up too much.

Look at the sender -- she opened the group sending of notices up to all store owners on the sim and that is what many of them are. Personally, I would rather she had not done that as I don't usually mind 1 or 2 a day from her, but add in all those other stores and that is too much.

From: Maureen Boccaccio /waves to Elora and Lil I removed myself from her group. It was driving me nuts. I think I'm going to send her an IM to ask if there is a group I can join that will just get the notices from her rather than all of them -- maybe that will prod her to create a separate group for the rest of the sim. Otherwise, I think I will turn the notices off and then just go in each day and pull the ones specifically from Lemania and ignore the others.

coool.....I just got this "emergency" alert:
Tomorrow March 25 between 9:30 and noon, CBS Paramount pictures will be filming a TV scene on the Potomac River near the Key Bridge in which special effects (loud noise and fire) will simulate a small water vessel being blown up. This will be a heavily monitored and controlled event lasting only a few seconds. There is no cause for alarm.

"For the filming of a TV pilot, there will be a simulated explosion on Wednesday, March 25 between 9:30 a.m. and noon near Key Bridge in the District. The explosion will produce a 20-to-30 foot fireball that will last for approximately two minutes. The Department of Homeland Security and D.C. Police and Fire departments have been notified, along with the Washington Airports Authority. The Virginia State Patrol and Arlington Police Department is also being contacted. The explosion will take place on the Potomac River just north of the Key Bridge and Jack's Boathouse (K / Water Street, NW under the Whitehurst Freeway). In the scene to be filmed, there will be six sculling boats on the Potomac River and one of them "blows up." The filming is for "Washington Field," a television series being developed by CBS Paramount about the elite Washington field office of the FBI." A 20 to 30 foot fireball.

I hadn't heard yet - have not been to the forums there in over a week. I sort of expected it though. It would be nice is some alternative could actually get off the ground since I really do think LL will eventually make the world way too pure

From: LittleMe Jewell I only sort of like cruises -- I do not like being "at sea" very much. The last cruise we took was a Southern Carrib one that brought us to a new port every morning, leaving each evening for the next island. The only full day at sea was the last one where we had to sail all the way back up to the point of departure. I'm just the opposite. I love the 'at sea' days and often don't even get off the ship in port. I also hate formal night. I just want to relax and renew, 24/7 swimsuit by the pool with nothing formal and no place I 'have' to go while on a cruise. I need to try one of those 'cruises to nowhere'.

My of my favorite days of the last cruise I went on was a day spent on the boat while in port. The ship was pleasantly free of children, the pool relatively empty and didn't have to wait in line at all for meals. One of the most relaxing days of that vacation.

From: Elora Lunasea The ship <snip> children, <snip> have to wait in line <snip> for meals. I'm having a panic attack just thinking of that. I never thought of that. Trapped. On board. Strangers. Screaming children. *whimpers, hides head under paws* I'll never go on a cruise. (heck, I was beginning to have a panic attack at the party at the forum hangout so I do not even need to get on a boat. that was when everyone was talking rapidly over each other. I think I have two (at least) types of attacks, the kind when I do not feel trapped with people around, but can't keep up with the conversation and the world starts spinning; and the kind where I feel trapped by people)

OMG that reminds me of one of the times I was on a cruise in the hot tub, in the adult area mind you. Three little girls get into the tub (all under the age of around . Without their parents. Kids are allowed if supervised with adults. They are holding ice cream cones no less. In, the hot tub! We look at them and ask where are their parents? They look at us with puzzled faces and say they don't know! Seems they'd lost track of said parental units or vice versa, so decided to just take a dip with their ice cream cones We had no idea what to do other than get out. The thought of a) being responsible for something happening to one of them (you never know) and b) being in a hot tub full of melting ice cream was not appealing either. Oh and we did tell them to leave but they weren't having any of that I have no kids, so shouldn't judge to harshly but really, I mean who lets their rugrats out of their sight on a huge cruise ship like that?
