Focusing on this Undying Thread, it is understandable that people perceive a clique here; there are so many historical in-jokes that are not explained (or in some cases are not even explicable) that it is inevitable that newcomers are likely to feel excluded, or even alienated.

Isn't it a bit unrealistic to expect to come into a group that has been together in ANY aspect of life and expect to be in the loop on everything? Of course you are not going to be in on all the running themes and jokes, are people that naive and insecure to think otherwise?

It's just my observations based on limited experience online , but for the most part, the people who complain about being made to feel like an outsiders do so because they really don't wish to belong to anything and do not like seeing others that do.

Pep (Crowd? Yes! In-crowd? A different thing!)

And yet when I think of this thread and what is happening when I am gone for a bit I wonder how you are. So, who's in-crowd? Obviously we do not hang out in world or exchange emails.. but I think back to when you first got here and how you joked about your signature tags being "possibly your thing". So, just because you may never get a IM, PM or email does not mean you are not someone being thought of as in what they think of when they think of "the group". ;)

And feted and fetid are/were often interchangeable, proper spelling not withstanding.

Actually it's much too short. Should be up to 75,000 posts by now. Who's doing all the slacking around here? Hmm? :(

Hey folks!

Happy Birthday to the late Mr Darwin, who's 200th Birthday it would be today.

Also later this year (22nd November) is the 150th anniversary of 'On The Origin Of The Species' being first published.

RE: Cliques. I am convinced after watching a few weeks of clique accusations on another forum unrelated to SL that the people who scream most about being outsiders need to find therapy, Jesus, or get a Cat to fill that "I suffer from not being liked/accepted" cross they carry. Now, I am sure we all have a little of that feeling inside but the ones who go out to destroy something with accusations of cliques and/or secret societies have issues that a forum will not fix. At least not social forums.

RE: Another forum.. I am just putting the idea out. Sounds like there are options out there ready to take it if it is even needed. We are so vague on LL specifics that the Yahoo answers things may be in world in the browser and not in this forum at all. Who knows what LL thinks or how far ahead they do? I am not trying to start a coup.. I just know for a fact some people I care about here will not post at the other place and if that means seeing another forum (without designs of SL domination or another forum's competition, which was my main reason for saying keeping it small) crops up.. so be it. That place should be work safe for people who I see get concerned across the street on certain picture postings. That was all I am getting at.

RE: Red or silks. Erm.... Let's just say SL is a place full of win when it comes to sexy. I am not a big silk fan, nor oddly enough a fan of red.. but the two together (and possibly the way it looked hanging on her) was a great combo. :D

Lula.. beautiful card, thanks. :)

Maureen: The skin is getting close. I cannot believe how many freaking hours I have put into this thing when it is based of someone else's (Eloh's) skin base. I have learned some cool techniques from graphics sites on how to add some things I wanted to (like facial stubble). It has been a more challenging but more educating project then that zombie skin. That silly Zombie skin had over 400 given away in SL alone. And that with no advertising. Sadly most of that came from OnRez. XStreet on the other hand only worked to give a few away. (hugs ya)

Rest of ya and those above.. HUGS!

If we added that part about "you look like a monkey" in the birthday song, do you think Darwin would be offended or elated?

I think my fortune cookie is broken. I pulled the fortune out, and it says 'You are kind hearted and hospitable, cheerful and well liked' ....only I have about 30 of the same fortunes in one cookie. I think something at the cookie factory broke lol.

(I also have 2 other cookies that say my plans are going to succeed and that I have the wisdom of ages at my command hehe)

@ Claire- was there room for cookie?

And- you do have the wisdom of the ages at your disposal- between us all in here we must have hit the century mark :D (if you were to lay us all end to end) (perhaps I should rephrase that...nvm)

Lol that does sound like a malfunction of the fortune inserting gizmo. As long as you don't get the "Help! I'm being held prisoner in a cookie factory." :D
