Actually I agree and there are many documented cases in history of men wearing silk - just not the feminine silks we have come to know in SL.
There are all kinds of ways of wearing silks that let a man keep his dignity and look rather nice both historically and today even.

Par Example: Men wearing silk suits are around us everyday :eek:

Silk is not just for us ladies.

Oh God yes. A man wearing a silk shirt, the fragrance of cologne,slowly running your fingers along his chest, and there are silk boxer shorts, and a silk tie that you remove and put aside for later use, and..........

@Brenda, loved your pics :)

@Mo, oh I had no idea there was a pern sim - I loved the Pern books and your picture was really nice. I might have to morph into my dragon form and go seek some threads of a different nature ;)

RE: Cliques. I am convinced after watching a few weeks of clique accusations on another forum unrelated to SL that the people who scream most about being outsiders need to find therapy, Jesus, or get a Cat to fill that "I suffer from not being liked/accepted" cross they carry. Now, I am sure we all have a little of that feeling inside but the ones who go out to destroy something with accusations of cliques and/or secret societies have issues that a forum will not fix. At least not social forums.
I agree completely and I think you stated the issue well.

On the subject of another forum, well for me it would have to be definitely generally SL related and even then it would depend on who is running the show I suppose. I do not frequent forums outside of the SL sphere and would be very hesitant about another place.
Having said that I hope the rumours about this forum are untrue. Best to leave it as it is than change it to something like what has been described previously here. If that happened I would almost certainly not be be staying. Perhaps we are being a bit premature though? Here is hoping.

Presently I am stading in Guild Wars (I know.. all the cool kids play WOW) with a brand new noob character getting ready to solo my way through the Factions title.

But, I may log in SL later if you are around and not pre-occupied. ;)

Isn't it a bit unrealistic to expect to come into a group that has been together in ANY aspect of life and expect to be in the loop on everything? Of course you are not going to be in on all the running themes and jokes, are people that naive and insecure to think otherwise?

It's just my observations based on limited experience online , but for the most part, the people who complain about being made to feel like an outsiders do so because they really don't wish to belong to anything and do not like seeing others that do.
I agree 100%

The rumors and time frames are all WAY premature I would bet. And this is not something I would say for someone to take on just yet. I have seen the rumors of the SL Forums dying for a long time. Yet, here we are today. I agree though on the other points.. SL and who is over it. But again.. WAY too early to think on it.

Ty.. :) I worked hard (as one can in GW) on his look. Normally I just hit the Ok, OK, OK and end up with whatever the server kicks out.

ok, I decided to try on my freebies from alphamale, so I could experiment with a few pictures. I put on a male shape and skin and....
totally freaked out. I forgot to turn my ao off, so seeing my avvie atanding in my normal poses only as a bloke is incredibly wierd. ick.

OK.. how about lounging kimonos.. they could even fall open at times- just not SL silks..

{RL story- about ten years ago I bought husband a green (various shades combined, almost camo looking, but casual Hawaiian almost - hard to describe) for Christmas. He hung it in the closet.... every year, I re-wrap it and give it to him again. It still has tags on it.}
I agree SL silks are just not appropriate but silk itself totally is. However SL silks are an interpretation of silks in John Normans books so what do we expect really?

I have to ask why you do that? Unless it is now something you both have manged to regard as a joke now and can laugh at, it seems to me that it is only going to continually remind you that you made a mistake on selected what he would like one year. That must keep hurting you just a little every time you do this. I know it would if it were me.

Of course if it were me, he would have gotten a lecture long before now about how I dress for him all the time, selecting things I know he likes to see me in and now it is time to reciprocate, so hot foot it to the bedroom and change my boy!!!

Of course feel free to tell me to mind my own business but it just seems a little strange to me is all.

I loved this book as a child. Maybe that is where my instinctual protection for sweat shop caterpillars comes from.

Anyone got Bono's phone number so I can get him in this crusade with me?

Oh, just the stories I hear...

And when the are too old to produce spawn or silk... well, let's just say a boot to the head is not as quick as you would think. :(
