Lol you misunderstand me. I did not say or mean that Male silks were from John Norman's books but female silks - which make up the majority of SL silks.
However that said and I could be wrong but I seem to remember that in the Fighting Slave of Gor, Jason is silked and perfumed for his Mistress's use I beleive. They will have been silks appropriate for a man though.

ahh then disregard everything else I said lol :o

I happily admit to have avoided the Jason books like the plague :) Those aren't even popular with Goreans.

what you all seem to be discounting is raw human nature. it's part of the human genetics to latch on to those we find most interesting, or make us feel comfortable, or liked, appreciated - so many emotional options to choose from - pick any one of those, and you can also then find a different character that you've bonded with on that subject.

it is, of course, those who bond on many levels and become comrades- friends, if you will -that become accused of forming cliques.

there should be no apologizies for forming a friendship with someone in a public forum. everyone will not like everyone, and some will accept anyone. but there will always be a handful of people who form strong bonds and become tightly knitted. friends. isn't that the whole point of communicating?

if someone is feeling left out, that is their problem. it is in their head, and theirs alone. sadly, some people are so pitiful that they actually encourage becoming shunned by creating situations that eventually cause their worst fear to come to fruition. it's sad and pathetic to watch. but after awhile, compassion and patience is lost by the audience.

jealousy is a very misunderstood, and powerful, emotion. it reveals itself in many forms - anger, low self esteem, self pity, etc etc. but it all boils down to jealousy. read the words of the accusers. it is a personal problem, and not the responsibility of the bonded friends to correct.

I was going to shorten this for the sake of brevity in quoting but felt it was worth reposting in it's entirety again.

This was the most beautiful thing I've read here in ages 3. Thank you so much for putting in words what I also feel, but wouldn't have had the thought to post :o

Hi everyone. I'm not even going to try to catch up on the last 24+ hours. I've been in grueling conference seminars all day and then out to dinner for my son's b-day (with more than a few glasses of wine consumed there).

I think I'll check a few more posts and then go pass out.

Chat with folks tomorrow. Four day weekend for me -- tomorrow is my normal Friday Flex day and Monday is a holiday.

night night, all.

Just 40 percent of Americans say they believe in the theory of evolution, according to a Gallup poll published Wednesday.

Bear in mind that everyone from the tip of Cape Horn up to hmm, I think Greenland (Nunarput utoqqarsuanngoravit) is further north than the furtherest north part of Canada, is an "American".

Now if they just meant citizens (or even lesser constraint "people within the borders of the United States of America), then that might say something or other.

So, 40% of a huge number of people. Wow, wonder if anywhere in particular in the Americas adds to that low percentage? Ah well, can't know, eh. All they said was America in general.

norte americano

(and just for the heck of it: "Greenland (Kalaallisut: Kalaallit Nunaat, meaning "Land of the Greenlanders"; Danish: Grønland) is a member country of the Kingdom of Denmark located between the Arctic and Atlantic Oceans, east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Though physiographically and ethnically an Arctic island country and geographically a part of the continent of North America, politically and historically Greenland is associated with Europe, specifically Iceland, Norway, and Denmark.";)

So, how many of those 40% know Greenland is part of the Americas?

Haha, good point, Lexxi
Although I daresay neither Canadians or Greenlanders would identify themselves as primarily "American"

The article does seem to point out US citizens specifically. While a tad sad, it also points to the success of the principle of 'freedom of speech' which allows every group a chance to be heard, if not taken entirely seriously :)

It was an alt! :D

Besides with some of the meds I take I sometimes can't spell Macphisto. Why do you think I shortened it to Mac? :P

I am done with the Dead Like Me series. If anyone gets the chance to watch this show (it has been like 4-5 years since showtime yanked it) I recommend it. I watched it before but doing a marathon over a couple weeks was awesome. :D

Now the movie will be released that will tie up some of the loose ends from the show's abrupt cancellation. This show had so much potential and I hope this movie is the first of many.

Ok.. now you got your Mac recommendation for a possible DVD rental over this President's Day weekend. If you have seen it.. or watch it soon let me know what you think/thought.

Goodnight peeps!

It's Friday (the 13th - which is not a problem; my daughter was born on a supposedly unlucky day and is the nicest person I know) the sun is shining and the snow has melted (we'll ignore the floods) and Wales are going to prevail over England at rugby tomorrow. What could make the day more perfect (apart from going to the pub at lunchtime and finishing work early) other than an Ulster Fry?

And it's never too early for an Irish coffee!

Top o' the mornin' Land 'O Thread goodness. :D

How did I manage to miss over 10 pages of posts? Yeesh...it'll take me all day to catch up.

I was a little out of the loop last night. A friend is scheduled for heart surgery this morning to have a stent placed (not sure which artery). And his wife, as luck would have it, is in bed with pneumonia at the same time. If you are so inclined, spare a few thoughts for them today. They would be appreciated
