They should make mini meals for those of us who want a taste, and still leave some room for nutritious foods.

(I'll have 6 mini meals, please.)

mini mcdonalds meal

sorry, link's not working

Lol. At least I only had 3 of the strips and skipped the fries. I wasn't totally bad. It could have been worse...

Well what I ordered is tofu... :)

Probably spending most of our time in Sicily, since my husband's family (both sides) comes from there. Totally psyched!

Sounds fantastic! Bring back lots of wine ;)

Thanks for the good words about my "prose". I don't consider it a poem. I was actually feeling that way this morning when wrote it. I am feeling much better now. It is hard for male type persons to over come thousands of years of evolution. But, I am working on it.

"CX"

CX! Not sure how I missed it, but I had no idea you'd written the prose this am. I am even more impressed! :) Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Yes! A RL trip! Can you believe it? On a plane. That thing that goes up in the sky that squeeze people into it for hours on end. Causes great misery but in the end, great delight :D

I'll pick your brains, and everyone else who lets me as time gets closer. We're going for one of our respective "big" birthdays and an anniversary rolled into one big trip(which one big birthday, I will not say lol). But will be spending 2 weeks, more if we can squeeze our bosses out of it.

That sounds like so much fun. :) Well not the plane ride so much...

Ugh flying... cramming your body into a tublar aluminum sardine can with a 100 other sweaty peeps.. not my idea of fun.

I fly to Houston on a regular basis. I have to arrive at the air port two hours early for a 1 hour flight. Another hour or two on the ground arranging the rental car and getting to the hotel. In those five hours I could have driven myself in comfort and keep my expensive (not explosive) shampoo. On Southwest I keep waiting for a guy to get on with a crate of chickens.

I must admit my first flight to Europe was in the First Class / Business section. That is the way to travel. They served us three meals in flight, we had movies and incredible service. I am just glad I wasn't paying for it. The lounge at the Amsterdam airport was also incredible.

First Class! Ahh!

The last 2 times I flew we got upgraded. I'd never flown 1st class before and thanks to my husband's constant traveling for his job they flagged us for this perk. Wow. What a difference it makes. Suddenly you're the King and Queen of the skies. We're seriously thinking of upgrading for Italy if we can't find a way to use mileage for it. If I have to spend 8 hours cramped in coach like I did to Barcelona again, I might just pitch myself out of a window.

Yes! Going to Italy next Spring! But I don't feel low and dirty about that, I feel low and dirty about eating McDonalds  Especially while planning a trip to Italy. How awful is that?

Wow Elora! Italy! How exciting! I'd go back to Italy in a heartbeat. I may have missed where you mentioned the duration of your trip however, I hope that it's long enough for the highlights. There are so many lovely, lovely places to see!

Cinque Terre was the one place that I missed that I would have loved to have visited.

Um..do you need an assistant on your trip? (Pick me! Pick me!)

Seriously! First Class is the only way to go...the Canadian Club Executive Service in Heathrow was outstanding. A representative met us as we exited the plane, took our luggage, took us to this opulent lounge, gave us these fluffy bathrobes, then showed us the showers, led us to the drinks & food...it went on. I felt like a celebrity. I swear I didn't want to leave the airport! LOL

ahh..the good old days.....

Ugh...I can't even imagine being on a plane for this long, makes me cringe to think about it. The longest plane trip I've ever been on was maybe five hours at the most. Taken first class once, definite difference, but the only perk I had was room to sleep the whole flight :p

Exactly.

/me ponders how long it will take to convince my doctor I need a prescription for heavy duty sleeping pills?

LAX to Dusseldorf was my longest. I was ready to die half way there.

I got a free upgrade to 1st class once on a flight from Seattle to Miami. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. No such luck on the way back, so I sat with the cattle in regular class. It's much worse back there after you know what 1st class is like.

I love flying, maybe because I don't get the chance to do it that often. I love everything about the day of.

I love packing the bags, the drive to the airport, the long lines, the drinks while you wait for your flight, the shuttle to the plane, the cramped seats, the take-off, the ears popping, the weird bathroom, I even like the turbulence.

The only thing I can think of that would really bother me is a crazy or rude person sitting beside me.

Someone send me a ticket to nowhere, please.

Things I hate about flying:

Packing
Standing on line to show my proof of person/passport
Customs
Having to take off my shoes
Having my expensive face cream be confiscated because it's 1/2 oz over the limit
Flight delays
Crappy food
Sitting on the tarmack for no damn good reason
Small bathrooms & nobody can seem to remember to wipe up after themselves
Screaming babies
People snapping gum in my ear
Can't stretch out my legs
Too cold
Too hot
Tiny pillows that are worthless
3rd rate movies at best
Even worse filler tv shows
Dry air
People that won't shut up when it's an overnight flight
Drunk people

Basically I'm annoyed by the whole thing. Except I love to travel too much so I just suck it up and try and keep my trap shut as much as possible

Boy, this thread moves fast...

OK, longest trip would be to New Delhi via Singapore. Around 36 hrs total painful... I had to do this both on Business Class and Coach. Let me tell you Business is better.

Loved India, the visit to the Taj Mahal was worth the long trip... oh, and got some work done too.

Oh, Derbor showed me some of his photos from India one day at the hangout... They were really great! Ask him for a slide show.

LAX to paris was my longest flight, about 12 hours. I was so excited about going, I hardly noticed the flight. :D

Together we sat enjoying the dusk,
she leaned into me as we snuggled closer.

For long minutes we lingered in silence.

Smelling the salt air, feeling the freshening
breeze. Love was upon the air.

She laid her head upon my shoulder and
nuzzled my neck. I felt her sigh and I
inquired. "Yes my love?"

"Thank you", was her reply. "Thank you for
a perfect day. Thank you for your attention.
Thank you for your love and concern."

But now with her thanks fresh upon my soul,
I sit alone with my memories.

I can only come here to remember, to wonder
where I went wrong. To vow not to do it again.

Imprinted upon me is her laughs, her cries and
her tears of joy.

Will I heal? Will I forget? Eventually the
memory will grow dim. But the wound is there
and while it may diminish it will always be.

"CX"
*sighs* That was lovely CX.

Wow this thread moves fast - ya go to sleep and loads of good stuff goes by in the twinkling of an eye ;)

We're crows, not pigeons. I think we have to eat road kill together.

Edit - but I agree with Kaimi - I like Isabeau and cookies.
OMG I got crow too!!!

EDIT: I think I am caught up now lol - right what's next?
