Mornin' y'all! It's too early for me to be posting this, this post does not actually exist, nor has it ever existed. It is a figment of your imagination. Have a great day!

Love this series!! I like the Merry Gentry series as well. However, I am getting quite annoyed with Ms. Hamilton and her editors, I think her writing quality has been affected by the speed with which the books are churned out...

meh...I haven't got that far yet. I just finished book 8 - Blue Moon. I think the next one is where people start complaining about the quality, but not sure.

@Xerxes... LOL, that xpod reminded me of something as a kid...ty :D

Good morning people!

As for that article. All I can say is, why would anyone want to subject their avatar to running on a treadmill?

I don't even want to run on one in RL.

(I know that isn't the purpose of the study, but that's was all I had to comment on).

Hey - I have a question for everyone since this thread is basically about NOTHING and EVERYTHING.

I'm going to be throwing a party in a couple of week, most likely. However, it will be in the middle of the week (not Monday - I don't want to conflict with Madhu's weekly cafe night), and at an early hour due to RL constraints on my part and because I'm going to be hiring a DJ for this shindig. Said DJ is in Europe, another reason why party has to be on the early side and said DJ is fantastic. He is one of the house DJ's for Alt7 which is mainly alternative music, but he said he will also play basic rock and roll as well and; he's great at taking requests.

Anyhoo - I'm just trying to get a general feeling for whether or not people will actually show up for this since it's going to be on the early side. Most of the East coast people probably won't have too much of a problem with it, and the European contingency shouldn't have any problems at all. I'm concerned about you West coasters tho, the working ones particularly.

So, if anyone would just pipe up and let me know if they think they CAN be there, just so I can get some sort of potential "yes" list to see if it's worthwhile or not, it would be helpful to me. Probably start around 1pm SLT or thereabouts, ending around whenever the DJ collapes his time :D (6pm SLT?) Then, doors will still stay open until I collapse or last one standing does, or we all get bored. Or bring sleeping bags and stay over. I've got 8192 square meters of land, a big house, with wrap around decks and a huge dock. You can all camp out for all I care, but I'm not paying anything for that camping ;)

Late arrivals are fine! I'm just trying to get some kind of idea of how many might actually show up. I assume people will be floating in and out (hopefully, once they hear the music, will stay once they get there!)

Elora, I will most likely be there. Whether or not I can stay late depends on what I am doing the next day, but I should be able to make it :)

Arriving is the requirement - staying late isn't :)
Push Graph to come too!

I know people will show up - eventually. I'm more worried about the place being empty when the DJ arrives! Ugh! How awful would that be? Umm, I guess kind of like the Non-Wedding Party when you, Rioko and me were the only ones dancing for like 2 hours? Lol!

/me sings to thread some more.

Derbor! Become one with the fangs! How does one become a vampire in SL anyway?

You have to stop singing. Unless it's dark gothic metal rock. Vampires take themselves very seriously and don't do frivolous things like singing without a promoter and a big tour.

Then you have to go shopping. You need a nice, pale skin, with smoky eyes and full ruby lips. Striking eyes (glowing red is, however, very passe this year). A shape (pardon) to die for. Night-black hair. And fangs.

Vampires are also very fashion-conscious. No bright, sunny pastels or patterns, though. Keep it simple, and keep it black, white, or red. Deep purple is also favored by the Undead Set.

It's a nice touch if you can find a large Bat avatar that you can change into at a moment's notice.

The Compleat Vampire also needs a castle to live in...excuse me, to inhabit. The guest bedrooms are upstairs, but the master is in the dungeon, in a coffin, excavaaaating for a mine...oops. Sorry.

Darn it, I wish I could talk you out of it. I think vampires are creepy. But if you're set on it, you may as well do it right. Have a nice Second Un-Life! :)

Good morning all. I love today's XPOD. I love the garden and the child looks like my granddaughter when she was younger.

Oh and I'm reading "Gravelight" by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

I suppose I could always log all my alts on and dance around for a bit if it comes to it lol....which I'm sure it wont.
I'll drag Graph there by his ear lol... ;)

That one will suck you in for weeks and weeks until you've read the whole dang thing.

Absolutely 100% worth it.

Alts! OMG, I forgot I could log in a few of those too. Only problem is my laptop will crash immediately if I try more than two of us ;) Even that is asking for trouble sometimes let alone the fighting which might happen between them to be let out of their cages...
