Ireland
China
Austrailia
Germany
Greece

Plus I have 4 States left that I haven't been to yet.

Ireland is at the top of my list too! I have barely travelled around the U.S, but my travels are coming along nicely.
Others on my list after Ireland are:
Italy
Greece
Serbia (if I can get in there and because I family there I'd like to meet :D )
Australia and New Zealand
Ok, I'll stop there cause the list really is a bit out of control. I just want to see everywhere I possibly can, I have longed dreamt of world travel!

/me blinks.

The Mid-Atlantic Ridge????

For me it's

Scotland
Australia (can I throw in New Zealand too?)
Japan
Italy
Panama

Mining and geology are close cousins. I'd love to eventually drive through every state that has a "Roadside Geology" book about it.

Other countries? I have lived in Arizona off and on since 1979 and I've yet to see the Grand Canyon. I lived in Louisiana for 2 years and never went to New Orleans. I probably should see a few places here before I venture across the pond.

I've never been to the Statue of Liberty, nor ever to the top of the World Trade Center. we take for granted the wonders in our back yards sometimes.

Claire, as much as I love - no, adore! - my home country, don't waste a Trip Wish on here.

OMG how can you say that? Canada has tons of cool stuff! Absolutely first on my list of course would be the Ekati and Diavik diamond mines. Then I'd go fishing near Yellowknife, caribou hunting on the tundra, polar bear watching in Newfoundland (at least that's where my friends went), and, hm, of course I'd have to watch a decent hockey game, and if I timed it right, maybe hit the Calgary Rodeo, ride the train on this trip:
http://www.canadiantrainvacations.com/rail_coach/across_canada_train.php
, eat maple sugar candy, sleep with a Mountie, ski Whistler, take High Tea in Victoria, shop Toronto, and eat French food in Quebec. Canada rocks!

I guess we do take for our backyards for granted. 'Everywhere else' always seems more exotic. I've been to Vancouver Island and back a few times, but still haven't been east of Quebec. Would love to see the North, also. Damn, this country is so big. By the time I see it all, I'll be too old for the rest of the world.

Ditto. Although, I did eat at Windows of the World before it's unfortunate demise, which was darn near close to the top. I only made it to the top of the Empire State Building a few years ago when friends from out of town came in and demanded we go.

I was in Toronto 2 weeks ago and I loved it. Shopped, walked around town, met some Mounties by the Ballpark, didn't sleep them them though. There is a lot in Canada to see. I'm thinking of taking the Train up to Montreal in the Fall.

Now the Empire State is my favorite building in the world. I went for the first time with my Grandma the day I made my first Communion, and I go at least once a year, more if I have out of state visitors.

And the Rainbow Room in Rockafeller Center has to have one of the best views on the planet. My sister got married there; it was amazing. :)

Damien, seriously, you must get out.. There is so much to see here in the US. One of the things I did when between high school and college was travel. I took and extra year to work and spent a couple months travelling in Europe one summer, and drove around the US the next. I went with a girlfriend, and we put 11,000 miles on my crappy little VW bug!

Some of my most cherished memories, those two summers.

Good night Threadies. Sleep well.

My favourite too. I marvel at it whenever I am near, and always look for it as a point of reference when I'm a bit further away. The Chrysler building runs it close. Elegant.

As for flying, I reckon I did about 175 flights in 2006-7. I love flying, and am by now fortunately desensitised to the pre and post flight airport rigmarole.

There are a couple of European countries I haven't yet been to - Albania and Belarus, and in no hurry to visit either. I love the US, and New York is my favourite place on earth.

Japan has always fascinated me - that has to be on my list of places to go. I'd like to see Canada, and Latin America in general would be fun, I think.

Morning Threadies

Last night we had a nearby tornado and severe thunderstorms complete with golf ball size hail. Luckily none of the cars or house was damaged. We did come within an inch of getting water in the house.

This morning driving to work I saw numerous trees and limbs down. The yard was still flooded this morning and several streets flooded.

Our power was off for two hours, internet and cable tv are still out and will be out for days.

Everyone is safe and sound. I don't know if I lost any trees yet. Have a good day. :)

omg CX. Glad nobody was hurt.

Thankfully we don't get hail that big here...I've never seen it bigger than....well, tiny anyway lol.

Hope everything gets back up and running soon...

Graclous, CX! So glad everyone is safe, and that your house/property were spared. My fingers are crossed for your trees.

That oversized hail can be deadly...I had to drive through a storm which produced baseball-sized hail, and the poor birds were no match for the force of those hailstones.
