Good Morning all.

Hope everyone is well - I have only managed to catch up on this thread due to it temporarily slowing down a little - thank goodness.

Amara, don't work too hard :)

Good morning, threadies!

First, for Brenda et al..

And now, a little artery hardening coming your way...

And yay! It's snowing here!!! However, since it's been so warm the past few days, it's not sticking to the streets. Just looks pretty on the grass and trees. I call it "tourist snow." :)

Please stop torturing the torii. They are just regular shapes with the same hopes and dreams of any other. :(

Good Morning Oh Thread My Thread

I'll admit to feeling a little left out. All of these cartel shopping trips, and bargains...

I propose the guys go on a shopping trip!

Course...we're as likely to come back with new robot avvies, a whoopie cushion shooter, an F4U Corsair, and an orbital trampoline, as anything else...but hey...it's "shopping" :D

um... /me checks inventory...yup...I haz some of these stuffs. :p

And what is more, it will only take ten minutes, we will visit only the minimum number of predefined shops and buy *exactly* the things we set out to buy.

Pep (Then go to a bar for a few hours and leave our purchases on the train)

I'm back Mo (at least until I get hounded out again :p) so you may want to increase the breakfast order temporarily . . . and please don't call me Al - that's my rl brother!

Pep (It's much appreciated - I have been wasting away this last month - which was part of the intent! :D)

You wear a megaprim to cancel out your avatar's mesh.

Correct!

The megaprim I'm using is a 65530x65530x0.25m torus. The client would normally visibly render it, but a couple of the object values have been changed (skew, cuts, radius, etc), which ups the complexity enough that finally the client just looks at you like you're crazy when you ask it to render the thing. The side effect is that if it's attached to your avatar, your mesh, skin, and clothing disappear - like an invisiprim KINDA, except you don't eclipse other avatars and water, etc, that're behind you. You're just....not there. Except for any other prim attachments you're wearing - those show up fine. It's a greener, lag-free alternative to an invisiprim if you want to make a prim avatar of some kind (say, a skeleton or robot-thing).

It causes no lag whatsoever because, as mentioned, the client never renders it. The client IS aware that it's there, though, so it's included in the ARC count - wearing one gives you an ARC of roughly 150,000. I decided to have fun; I attached a single 1x1x1m prim, and then attached one of these mega prims to every single other attachment point on my avatar; this gave me the ARC of over 3,000,000 with no greasy aftereffect. I walked around Kuula to demonstrate - no troubles whatsoever.

There is a mall building in San Seguis which is all lit up like that - near a piece of land I own. Every time I visit it - I have to shield my eyes - it is huge too.

I need to learn how to do this. It sounds cool. :)

Then I can play around with using the technique on Claire's shoulder jerboa. I turned it into an av already. But it uses the fold up, and hide in an invisiprim under the floor technique.

But this sounds much neater!

I kind of miss the Scotties running around the back yard on the ice. Too short to actually fall, so it was kind of a running flail. The rabbit would have been safe this week, except that he/she had too much sense to be out in the weather.

Mild snow turning to wet when it hits the ground and all the snow going today. At least the Scotties are happy.

My sister's dog, Boomer (aka "my nephew" :p) is such a prima donna (heh...I mean, primo uomo), he hates getting his tootsies wet. Pretty funny to watch him prancing around in the back yard....shar peis are not made for prancing...

When I left the house this morning, my daughter was bundled up on the sofa, so sick the poor little thing, with the flu. Husband is halfway there. I am at the very edge of it, feeling the thing reaching for me, and trying to battle it off. I'm pretty sure I won't get it.

At work, too, it's going around.

Maybe I'm just the carrier?
