I couldn't agree more. The funny thing is that they will deny such behaviour exists to their dying breath, and then proceed to stomp on you for even thinking it. Anyway, I resolved it all by simply leaving. The few people I do want to remain acquaintances with can be found here or on ToT.

pretty much like here.....ironic ain't it?

I think I'm officially addicted to puzzle hunts. Thank you for pointing this one out. The second clue is more baffling than the first ;)
WTF? You found the first one already? Holy crap, that is totally not fair!!!

Hmm.. maybe some pillows, a little round table and a vase with flowers? Lovely...

Oh yes....and I am partial to Waterford crystal and Murano glass. Maybe a nice drop leaf or gateleg table? You know..to save on space. :D

I actually tread very carefully across the street. I participate only in the SL discussion forum, and try to keep strictly factual. I've never been able to figure out what triggers the storms of negativity the place generates ... popular people over there are worshipped, others get simply stomped on. I try now to avoid contradicting anyone there, and am very careful not to appear to think I know more than the regulars about anything.

Meh! I don't walk on eggs well.
.

prima donna's who think they are more imporant than they really are mixed with some cliquey mean-ass snatches makes for an unpleasant environment. why do you bother at all? just wondering.

Here's a question for you guys, relating to my security thread. How do you remember all your passwords? I've always been a firm believer in "don't write them down", but online banking both work and personal, work computer, credit card companies, email accounts, all the SL's and Wow's and Ancestry.com that charge a monthly fee.... How do you remember all those pwords? Even once, let alone, changing them periodically.

I'm feeling very overwhelmed about this. :(

I have only a few online accounts to remember, 1 email, 1 bank that handles all my accounts, my insurance, my toll pass, SL, Ebay, and utilities. Even though I shop online I don't open accounts at any of the sites. I'm not great at passwording, all mine are variations on a theme which helps me remember them, although the theme is not too obvious. I don't change them as often as I probably should.

I actually use two sort-of-complicated passwords for all of my generic web sites where I don't really care if it gets busted into. I use a single very complicated password for all of my financial stuff and then a few others for work. I don't record the password, but I do record a hint to myself.

My bigger problem is keeping all the different web ids straight - some use an id I started using on the web years ago, some use email addresses (which I have tons of), some sites I use this id, etc... In order to keep things straight, I let Firefox and Thunderbird store my passwords (they are encrypted) and I use a separate very complicated password to protect those files.
