Hey, Amara, so great about your inventory returning! I know how much it meant to you...

:)

@Pep.... I'll be succinct. Rezzed in August, 2007 with a main who is not Allegria, hehe. Allie the Alt took over for good in about Feb/Mar of this year. In RL, I'm a financial type, working for a group of private manufacturing companies. One of my RL loves is singing in a choir at the Unitarian Universalist church and various other festival choirs and chorales as the opportunity arises.

In SL, I enjoy friends, dancing, and playing Tiny Empires. I love my land, Refugio, and the lovely skyplatform I've created above it. One of these days, I'll host a party there...

Not really a builder, more of a shopper, LOL.

A smokey mist begins to fill the room and the air gets damp and chilly, sending an involuntary shiver down your spine. You hear something quietly moving around and a dim shape becomes apparant in the swirling whiteness that has reduce your vision to less than arms length.
You stare at the shape which stands motionless in front of you. Feeling compelled you move forward, just a step toward the shape, it becomes only a little clearer and yet you feel a presence of another in the room acutely.
Silent and still the shape remains and you take another hesitant step towards it. You should by rights be able to almost touch them and yet you cannot quite make out details properly as the mist thickens to an intense eerie fog.
You reach out with your hand and step forward one more time and you gasp as you touch the shape and simultaneously the fog clears enough for you to see it. You sigh with relief as you realize it is the ornate full length mirror of the bedroom.
You look into the mirror again, a second longer glance at the figure and then try to turn in terror but it is too late as you are held fast and you feel the sharp pain of twin pinpricks in your flesh.
The fog now recedes almost as quickly as it came and there in front of the mirror you see your reflection and that of me behind you. Skin pale and yet flawless, cold hands holding you fast and eyes green and as deep as the ocean as I take the aqua vitae from you.
I now let you turn and then feast upon you once more and last thing you remember seeing as you slowly slide painlessly into an inky blackness are my eyes looking into yours.

Hello Threadies VV :) I hope everyone is well, I come again to stalk the thread.

No kidding? Cool. Tell her congratulations from me. They have a good team. I think I heard that this is the last year of sponsorship though.

Btw if anyone wants a bit more there are some good pictures of the Tour here.

Instant synopsis of Pep: A Welshman living in England. I used to be an accountant but I am better now. I was educated in all-male institutions, finishing up at Cambridge (England) but majored in sport and alcohol rather than Economics and Computer Science. I have had six blissful years of marriage, but unfortunately am now headed for my fifteenth anniversary. I adore my 10-y-o daughter and 13-y-o son, less so when they call the police to complain of mental abuse when I lock them out of the home network. I hate the Gor philosophy and love Heinlein's. I am patient, logical, loquacious and honest. I also have excellent taste and an apparent talent for "electronic empathy" which has completely surprised me.

Pep (and I am 54)

been awhile since I posted here.... nearly a month. I decided that this might be a good post to step back into the fray...

I am 43 (nearly 44), female, married, live in Arizona USA. Been married just a little over a year. Met my hubby in SL, then in RL.
I have no children of my own, but am the stepmom to two wonderful boys, 8 and 6 (nearly 9 and 7)

Once things settle down in my RL my plans are to go back to school, because as they say, you are never too old to learn new things. I have always wanted to be in the medical field in some form or another, and have always been fascinated by those who draw my blood when I needed blood work done, as well as the lab techs. So what I want to do is go back to school and become a Phlebotomist and then work up to being a lab tech.
(hubby thinks I am weird and said no way am I coming near him with any needles LOL)

In SL I create things... many things.. lots of stuff... .... ...
OH!! what kind of stuff?
Well let's see, I create clothing, shoes, hair, skins, prim attachments, have made my own gestures, and uploaded my own sounds, I have built buildings, shelving units, small stores, and I also built a full sim sized city (which is now all packed up in my inventory for when I have my own sim, and I will bring it back) I do have pics though hehe.
I have managed 2 estates in SL (for 2 different ppl) (the first being 4 sims, and the second being 2 sims) and I also DJ in SL and will be getting back into a regular schedule for DJing as folks are wondering when I DJ so this is the easiest way to do it.
I have also DJ'd on an internet radio station prior to finding SL.

I also am learning scripting and animation creation when I have some time to spare.

my current projects are;
creation of tinies
shoes, hair, clothes, and other stuff that can be worn
some new skins
redo some existing stuff

I recently went back to being a Second Life Mentor, however I will not get mixed up in the Drama side of that again. And already have someone who wants to shadow me for their training LOL.

I love to chat and always have time for friends, but rarely will im anyone, as I do not want to be a pest. (yes I am strange that way, I do not want to disturb others, but am totally ok with others disturbing me) :D

ok I think I have bored you for long enough....
/me goes back to lurking on this thread for another month.

I like your Vampire bite story, Gabrielle. How come those vampires spamming for bites can't be that sexy.
Heck I grow boobies in sl for a bite like that if it was required. Hehehe.

Thanks guys for all your "introductions". It is reassuring me that I am not too many generations away from the movers and shakers of sl. And being a financial geek does not seem to terrible a burden to bear when it is shared to some extent.

I realised that I did not mention my sl existence, probably because I am even more embarrassed about that than my rl persona.

I am a leach, a parasite, a non-contributor. But at least I am honest , as my profile warns that I am permanently broke and apologetic to hosts, dancers, djs and escorts who might be hoping for tips. All I have to offer is words and good humour - in fact the only "job" I have had in sl involved entertaining the girls in a bordello while they were sitting around waiting for clients to turn up - and educating them to look at the shoes to work out whether the punters had money and taste. I had to give up the job because of the money though - I couldn't afford to pay the owner for the privilege of hanging around . . .

Thank you for your hospitality and your kind words CX. Until suitably put down I shall continue to attempt to amuse and provoke. And "GOOD MORNING AMERICA!" as someone with better repartee than I was wont to say.

Maureen,

I like the way your mind works. Actually since I live there we have the pool to ourselves most of the time anyway I don't think your theory holds water.

I always like to see my friends having fun and I was disapointed that I would have to cancel.

Amaranthim reminded me that I am essentially Heinleinian in my philosophies, with a little market huckster thrown in for good measure. I just reread "Stranger . . ." Maybe at the end of this week I will be wanting to be someoneelse, having reread "The Moon . . . "

I should stay out of bookstores.... Mr. Henilein's estate is richer for me this weekend having decided it is easier to re-purchase than to dig out of boxes.Since he seems to be figuring largely lately all over the place I had better do some refreshing -

(A cat turned up at the castle and neither I nor Steely brought him- we figured he just Walked Thru Walls ).

I have to agree, I am reading Tunnel in the Sky right now. The Moon... is on my desk and Citizen of the Galaxy. I am also re-reading the Honor Harrington series by David Weber.
