completely off topic here but one day I'm going to bail you up to ask you how feeling music compares to being able to listen to it. Sure! A topic for another thread of course, but feel free to ask me anything, anytime about my personal hearing loss or hearing loss in general. I am very open about it and will talk to anybody with an interest. One area that I am not at all shy and very well educated in. |

Totally. You always have to look at the place producing the statistics and you usually get an idea of why those stats read the way they do. Which is a shame. Oh dear. Total lack of a sense of humour being demonstrated yet again. ![]() Pep (I was going to argue with you Smithy, and say it was 71%; I have seen that figure quoted several times. ![]() _____________________

The longer I deal with people who are online all the time, the more the cliche runs true. A place for fat, 40 somethings who are collecting disability ..or have something "wrong" with them to congregate, make themselves look like a model and adopt a spoiled bitches ego. Its quite frankly daunting. Long flowing hair, tramp stamped and an overwhelming sense of entitlement. Multiple alts to be able to "marry" all the ones who come after them that they like. Keeping it on the "down low". On from the moment they wake up, to the point of passing out on the keyboard. Judging from your post, you seem to fit in quite well. Welcome, you've found a home among your kind now. ![]() I don't even know why I'm posting this. Joy at finding a place you can finally fit in? Or maybe the first time in your life you feel superior to someone. I suggest you sit down and think hard on that question. ![]() _____________________

Sure they do. I have an opinion based on experience. I present it for debate to see how common it is, if its a held perspective with more than just myself about certain few people. If i present it in this forum, obviously I'm expecting comments and insight. If i wasn't I could have just as easily blogged about it and disabled comments. You keep mentioning your "experience" about this, but what is your experience? Observing people in Second Life? And that enables you to make psychological diagnoses such as personality displacement? I would think that maybe you would need to sit down with someone to make such a judgment on them. I will give you the best advice you've ever got, right now. When you're upset by someone or something, and it's more than just a minor irritant, then you really need to look at yourself, not the other person. Railing against someone else who you THINK should be acting differently does nothing to improve your life, and it certainly does nothing for the other person. Ask yourself two questions. What is it in them that is a quality in myself that I don't like. (This is called projection, by the way, and you might want to look at it.) Or am I jealous of this person for something they have that I don't? You said that you're not upset by this, but it's obvious for all of us to see that you are. So, the question is not what's wrong with the others, but why am I disturbed? You've completely changed your tone now, trying to be more reasonable and concerned about others, but that appears to be bullshit. "Happiness is an inside job." - my friend Janet |

Angel and Briana's exchanges are making me very sad.
And their lingering anger is proof that everything that happens in SL is very real to the person at the keyboard. Mostly because it IS real. _____________________

Not really a "normal" process though, was it. Pep (I presume you don't recommend it to others?) My hearing loss was originally caused by a blow to the head by an abusive ex (key word is, ex) husband, and it progressed from that initial act, to total deafness, over some years. So no, was not a normal process at all. Just that I've learned to live inside of it, and live quite well, and be happy. No, I don't recommend it to others. But I will help anyone to find their own peace with it. It is a social disability of sorts, as it severely limits the ability to communicate easily. An invisible disability, for the most part, except for any assistive devices like hearing aids that one may be using, which often go unnoticed. So no, I'd never recommend it. But since I've got it, or it's got me, I am certainly going to do my best to turn it on its' head and make lemonade out of it. |

Totally. I trusted, and a hatchet job was done on me, and when i took a break from SL for 2 years and then came back - guess who IM's me and starts 4 year old drama? So yes, it makes me sad that it ever happened that way. No one ever wants to be in abusive relationship or be abused like that, in virtual or the real world. _____________________

They really should let Prok back for the Final Countdown. For sure! I didn't realize that he was banned. Now that these things are slowly (hardly?) moderated, they should definitely let him back. It doesn't seem fair ![]() _____________________

Hun, you are probably not fat at all. You are "big-boned" and disability is a mindset. You are probably just "challenged". ![]() I prefer to use "crippled" it pisses off the do gooders. ![]() _____________________

Attending the funeral of a 16 year old boy who took his life because some QUEEN on the internet who had a bit of inside knowledge about his family decided to systematically turn him against his family and eventually himself is SAD. What's not sad is being mocked regularly on the internet by the same QUEEN about the same child over and over again. It's not sad, it's PATHETIC. |

I just witnessed some stripper freak out and quit a job at a club here because the manager asked her to take of her scripted pregnant belly. My jaw literally dropped. "Mmmmm... thanks for the tips sexy!"... "So and so is flooded with warmth knowing her twins will be born soon".... errrrrrr.. wtf! What are you doing hanging out in strip clubs which employ pretend pregnant women? You sicko! _____________________
