I completely expected to be blasted, as long as my intent was understood. I do deal with someone who is disabled, I've stated this much. The point was to take it over the top and generate conversation about it. The "fat,40, disability" comments are based on disclosure by some who have done or do what I've stated. I'd get the same blasting if i generalized anyone from race, size, religion, location..so on. Its not going to stop me from stating where it was coming from. I'm far from "politically correct", I speak my mind. This is all entertainment for me. If i can learn something from it, gain insight, it makes it worth while. Everyone comes out of it with a little more understanding, or not.

Ok. I am really glad you clarified that this is all entertainment for you, this early on in this thread. I didn't realize that, I thought you were actually trying to get a conversation going. No need for me to post further. Have a wonderful day.

Well,I am not overweight and kind of cute even,36 and live off of my ex husband's alimony/child support and a trust fund from my deceased father. But certainly homebound. I raise two autistic children by myself and it's pretty hard to have a social life or to even go to a grocery store. So SL/internet is my social life. Sue me. I guess I'll go jump off my roof or something now.:p

Long, emotional, ranting post? Check
Follow up post, claiming to not really be as emotional as the post suggested? Check
Further posting suggesting OP was just bored, and on the way to do more important things while us people argue about it? Check

YAY Friday! *grin*

Sorry Pep, it wasn't a tirade, it was the truth. That damn paragraph he wrote was a pretty close description of me. I took great offense to it, and you know my skin is usually thicker than a rhino's. There was no reason at all for his attack. I didn't choose to be disabled. I damn sure would rather have my body work as it was made, but I will spare you all the details of why it doesn't.

If he wants to be an ass and bring RL into this, he better bring his A game. I know damn well, crippled or not, he wouldn't talk to me like that to my face.

Something can be a tirade *and* the truth. Just as the OP's descriptions can both be the truth and perceived as being insulting. That is up to you. I didn't perceive his post as an "attack", merely an observation that SL is full of people that use it to compensate for the inadequacies of their real world. I myself would rather that the path of true love would run smooth, but it doesn't, which is why I invest time in SL.

Pep (Lots of you seem to be confirming his underlying argument, which is that you *do* take SL too seriously.)

A person trying to understand never enters with open hostility and accusation. That tactic is reserved for the opposite of understanding.

Sure they do. I have an opinion based on experience. I present it for debate to see how common it is, if its a held perspective with more than just myself about certain few people. If i present it in this forum, obviously I'm expecting comments and insight. If i wasn't I could have just as easily blogged about it and disabled comments.

Gosh Angel- grant you I have not been here as long as you have and i don't frequent the places our well-adjusted OP does- but in my nearly four years here I have met one 'verified' liar and one socipath. Unless of course the rest of the people I know are too but hide it well ;). I think I shall count myself lucky.
Nawww - we are all sociopaths but we do it well, so you still like us.

Sociopaths, liars, and control freaks are the norm in Second Life. It's sad but true. In my years here I have not been able to figure out why this is the case but I have observed this to be true.

They are practicing for when they get elected to Congress.

If you choose to have right tits as your rl buddies, and you choose to perceive a description of them as right tits as an insult, then yes.

Tore...if you find yourself starting the topic with this phrase.....

....copy and paste your thoughts in an email, and send it to yourself, before posting.

Wait 24 hours to read it.

The second time you read it.....you might notice some words such as....WTF...Fat....spoiled bitches....tramp stamped....desperate....pathetic.....

that would tend to set some people off.

You may also notice that some of your phrases are a bit awkward during a normal conversation, and perhaps some tweaking is required. :)
This is actually one of the best suggestions I have ever heard for when we come here ticked or frustrated about something. For the threads that seem to really get my ire up, I may use a form of this to help keep some of my replies in proper check and perspective.

You prefer left tits for some reason?

And does this mean they are or are not classified as adult? :)

And regarding the OP...

Sounds like someone just turned bitter after being scorned again. E-peen probably was clowned once again by the 'long term love' he met at Bukkake Bliss.

I am not perfect, but I really try to never judge anyone. And when I catch myself doing it, I correct myself.

Smith is right, judging is a choice that you can make.

*every* decision you make is a judgement - to stay or leave, who you have on your friends list, where you go, what you wear - the list is endless. Each one of these is made by applying your standards of what you find pleasurable/acceptable and is usually based on both context plus your preferences.

Judgements based on stereotypes or generalisations however are something to be avoided. Sometimes though when trying to work out just why someone is behaving as they are then applying these is an easy way to categorise that behaviour and usually the result is uncharitable.

Met him in kindergarten, yeah, childhood sweetheart, 3 kids for him, one for me. All of 'em 'our' kids, though......2nd marriage for us both, but was still my childhood sweetheart. Employer, 24 years.

You missed out the bit about good physical and mental health, Treasure.

I think maybe we just used 'judge' differently, that's all. :)

Yea, i am going to call you out every time you try to do this.

- You lied to me continuously
- You kept our business assets from me
- You rezzed a 10x10x10 prim in every sim with my pic on and some really deep sex stuff said on it.
- You posted more accusations about my sexual interest on a forum
- You posted on a forum that i was a black man and that my 'wife' was faking SL for me
- You refused to meet me on Teamspeak to "talk it out and prove who was what"
- Last year you sent me an IM about your dying of lung cancer and then did your crazy email loony rant about the past and my killing teenagers.
- You edited my SL Wikia entry and the owner changed it back and informed of your IP, etc, which i used to find more of your intellectual nuggets on the internet
- You were suspended 4 times for harassing me
- You flame bombed my Aqua Galleria untill you were suspended while spamming notecards to my retailers that i was using an exploit to steal their items for sale in the Galleria.

Yes, LIARS, FREAKS, SOCIOPATHS, are here. Hello.

Oh, and if anyone wants notecards - i can email it.

Oh and should i go on about how interactions in love went?
- "shut the f*ck up bri"
- "get out bri"
- "Shut up or i am logging for a week bri"
- "I am kicked you out (again) bri"
- "let's get married bri" - then i rez prims all over the grid saying horrible crap about you bri...

Whatever..

You are too close to the truth for the habitues of this forum, Tore. Even my friends here ("Friends? Who the hell is he talking about?";) would admit under pressure or oath that their real lives are not the "Happily married to my childhood sweetheart, had 2.4 kids, in good mental and physical health and been working for the same employer for 20 years" types. If you check out the "perverts" thread (sorry no link but I am sure someone will oblige) you will get some corroborative evidence, but you'll also find arguments that there is no such thing as "normal". Well, at least in sl.

Ok..I am 40 something...have 2 kids and was married to my childhood sweetheart...fool that I was! So I am now happily divorced...in good physical condition...besides a few stretch marks. And I can always stand to lose a few pounds in the right places...but unfortunately gravity does not work that way when you've had a few kids(something you would not understand as I'm assuming you are a man) ) after you reach the age of 40.

I go to work every weekday and I'm on call 24/7. I think I'm in good mental health(no one has ever tried to have me committed anyway:) so I do believe I am as abnormal as the next...(never met a really normal person in sl or rl).

What I don't get....why do you people care? I come into SL to Relay for Life (something that helped me emotionally after my own mother died from colon cancer). I have a Sim and 2 stores because I got hooked on SL. I love creating here..it makes me feel like the artist I have never been in RL. My three best friends in RL are in SL(one not as often anymore as she is busy with her 3 month old in rl) we talk about our children, we show pictures, we share our problems and our families. My oldest daughter is constantly asking advice from my friends (over the headset) as she will not listen to me half the time...sigh.

There are many different types of people in SL...here for many different purposes. You really should not catagorize people this way...it keeps your mind small.

Oh....I have Graves Disease, hyperthyroidism. Easily controlled, though, certainly not to be considered a disability, just a fly swat annoyance, have to take meds for it or my heart goes into overdrive. Mental health, well I haven't been diagnosed with anything....*yet* :p

I'm not trolling. By stating I made it over the top, I meant i didn't pull punches or try and water it down to tip toe around people. In no way am I trying to be malicious.
