15 pages in 3.5 hours.... most impressive (after the OP I can't bear to read the responses... laughing that much makes it hard to breath)

Opinions & Forums

If a forum isn't for opinions, exactly what is it for?

I know Tore very well, no, not in that sense. Get your minds outta the gutters. lol (Yeh, I tend to be a little funny and off the wall.)

What he did here was post his opinions without holding punches, worry about being politically correct or who he might offend. Honesty. Dear god. Tell ya, it's why we are friends. Yes, friends who met here in SL. So, no, he doesn't judge everyone or categorize all, though his post might make you think otherwise. lol

And the girl in question was just an employee, I'm the one who requested the tummy talker removal or silencing and had the manager talk to her. Bloody ridiculous situation.

SL is a great place, full of room and possibility to create and explore all kinds of things. Kudos to LL on that. Many of us are here due to restrictions in rl or unhappy rl and honestly, I fit both. I take no offense to Tore's comments, I know it is not personally intended.

I respect anyone for an honest opinion publically stated, it takes guts not to mix it up with politically correct statements to avoid drama and just say what you feel. Wish more people would, be alot less bs.

There's my unrequested 2 cents. Tore, as usual, adore your honest, open, no holds barred point of view.

We're using different dictionaries, but that aside, that definition of normal sounds like a living death. Like...being an accountant or something similar. I avoid that type of normal, I find it incredibly boring.

pst, Treasure I'm a little deaf but even worse I'm colorblind! I should consider myself lucky no one has abandoned me on an ice floe!

I didn't say I endorsed it as a paradigm.

Pep (Merely offered it up as a potential baseline - and no-one has met the criteria yet, it appears.)

I prefer to use "crippled" it pisses off the do gooders. :)

If that was a backhanded attempt at calling me a "do gooder" PFT! This is one "do gooder" that would not be pissed if you want to use the word "crippled". I have heard far worse.

Smith - there's not really a way I can comment on this, without being part of the fuel. I wish that we didn't have to let it go as acceptable internet behavior, or acceptable human behavior, and wish it wouldn't stand as a record of how individuals treat each other in SL.

I know what you mean, Mickey. All you can do is set a good example, SL or RL. Don't be afraid to speak up about it, flames or not.

She has got upset with me in her time.

Pep (It's fun when she puts me on ignore - she looks silly answering questions I already did.)

Self-praise is no recommendation.

Not to mention the fact that people tend to re-create a lot of their RL issues in SL!

I think the possibility exists for improving one's life by addressing those issues within Second Life.

Actually, it doesn't upset me at all. It's interesting all around. I'm honestly trying to understand the complete reality displacement.

When I had to leave for a time because pain kept me from being able to sit at a desktop, I did write an obituary so my friends would know I was going. I did cry at leaving, friends of mine cried and those friends of their own free will got together and got me the tools I needed to come back.
That is the sweetest, most heart warming thing I've read in a long time, my sympathies on the steroids, I had to take them for awhile, it took me a couple of years to get rid of the moon face and extra weight. Hang in there guy ;*

Just the ones with the scarce combination of a sense of humour *and* a sense of proportion.

Pep (It excludes most of those living west of the Atlantic and ESLers.)

PS Thanks Laurin for sticking your head above the parapet. You will suffer as a consequence of course. :(

PPS Osprey, you too!

I don't think it's fun at all. Some very disturbing comments in this thread. I hope the entire thing is removed.....and FAST.

Why? The OP was an asshat and was called on it.

I think Mickey is speaking of the exchange between Briana and Angel.
