And second, this is the even more bothering thing: you don't kill your own child. Period. Even if it has done bad things, it's still your child. N'burg is Ulrika's child, yes, so to see her wanting to get it killed off, just because it 'didn't grow up the way she would've liked' is very saddening.

She didn't kill her child at all. She took the child away from an evil babysitter and is now having it raised by it's favorite aunti Kendra.

Flash. You heard it here first.

Yes. Everything ends. When you die, your life will end. When the earth crumbles, the world will have ended. The universe will all come together in a big crunch, and end.

Things end, in case you hadn't noticed. SL will, too.

She abandoned the baby, then came back demanding payment of prior care of the baby. The baby is standing on her own two feet now, and that bugs mama.

I think to maintain a group run forum you will need 20 members, we can create a new one named Neualtenburg city so as to notify users there is a difference. We will need all new groups and must abandon the groups that have officers who aren't citizens.

"Group Forums
To request a Group Forum, first make sure your SL Group has at least 20 members, then send an email to groups@secondlife.com with your SL name, group name and the name of 2 group members who will be moderating the group forum. Please note, Group Forums which go unused may be deleted."

I created a group named "Neualtenburg City" to hold it from being taken. I will hand it over to the city officials when they wish.

For the life of me I can't figure out what makes people so damn evil.

we have far more than 20 members --but thanks for playing

Also --as you are currently engaged in content theft --I would appreciate it if you folks changed the name of your Sim already. The Neualtenburg Projekt's new official location is Port Neualtenburg.

Also, Ulrika, aren't you supposed to have given up SL?

How many times has she given up on forums, SL, etc now? Just out of curiosity.

I do so regularly. Everything has positive and negative elements but sometimes annoyances can overshadow the benefits. I find that walking away for a bit contributes to my sense of perspective and composure. You can call it taking a break, a hiatus, or even turning your back or giving up if you want to paint someone in a negative light but the ability to walk away is a good thing and it requires self control that not many have. I highly recommend it.

I was pointing at Phase III of the Neualtenburg Projekt.

Phase II has ended.

Well, that's what you say.

:D This would so be a great Jerry Springer show!
It makes me wonder if ANYONE in this project can get along, and why in the world would all the bickering parties want to continue any association with one another.

Wake up people, this is your virtual gaming world, not your real world. Aren't there more meaningful battles to fight than this one? Why waste your energy on this bickering?

We're doing just fine.

Just to bring another perspective here, I'm a member of the Neualtenburg Representative Assembly. We have a vibrant community with over 30 citizens and are rebuilding and moving ahead. The mood within the city is harmonious and the citizenry is coming together. I personally believe it's a testament to the strength of N'Burg that it can survive the loss of its founders. It is larger than any single resident and will continue under its current name or under one to be chosen in the future.

To sum up, the city today is alive, profitable, harmonious and growing. I wish nothing but the best for Ulrika and Kendra as they embrace phase III of the Projekt. We'll be watching closely and I'm already very impressed by the initial forum postings. -Pelanor

Actually, you're a member of the Tera Nova Representative Assembly. Your group's involvement with the Neualtenburg Projekt and its ability to use that name was terminated after the group halted negotiations with me for the trademark and tried to lock down the group forums in a coup.

You're a swell guy Pelanor. I wish you all the best of luck in your political role playing sim under whatever new name you decide to operate under. :)

Amen. I just want them to move on and pick a new name for their sim. Let's all put this to rest.

Well, that's what you say.

Since I head the Neualtenburg Projekt , I'd say that would tend to make it true.

Your city may flourish (and I hope that it does) --but it's not part of the Projekt --and is now considered to have ended it's involvement with Neualtenburg.

Thanks Ulrika. I think Tera Nova is a fine name worthy of consideration. It fits in nicely with our upcoming 2nd sim, Colonia Nova. I'll pass it along to our group for consideration. :)

Groovy! I'd like to end all of this once and for all. Personally, it will be an interesting litmus test to see if individuals perceive this suggestion negatively, wanting to keep the old name to achieve "victory", or positively, hoping to move on and truly stand on their own. Bonne chance! :)

Pelandor, I feel that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you choose the name 'Tera Nova' (with this spelling).

I've searched SL forums for 'tera nova', and Ulrika's post is about the one mentioning it first, so that might give her grounds to claim the name as 'her intellectual property'. To not repeat past mistakes, even though Google has some results for 'tera nova', I strongly advise that you don't name your sim like this.

('Terra Nova', the usual spelling, is a very general and widely used name, so that could probably be used easily.)

PS: (And just a really minor thing, it's 'bonne chance' in French, not 'bon chance'.)

At least you realize it's not your name to claim, and the only way it will ever be removed from the sim and groups is if we voluntarily remove it.

I will enforce my trademark over that name and seek damages for its use since the time I revoked your permission to use it (1 Jun 2006). It would be wise for your group to just move on.

Just move on.

If you hold the trademark, simply notify LL in writing with the Trademark, and they will promptly remove or change the names. Just as if it was Disney or Sony.

I issued a DMCA notification to LL two days ago. I think everyone is really hoping that you all just move on.

Question: Why do you want the name? It's never going to cease being associated with Ulrika and I --it will always hang over your heads.

All the items are gone. The DMCA has nothing to do with Trademarks. The issue had been dealt with before you filed it. Even your own posts admitted the only remaining issue was the name.

LL warns those who file there are legal consequences. On the face of the filing it seems like an attempt by the accuser to intimidate the accused after negotiations failed.

After being informed that names can't be copyrighted, the accuser filed a copyright take-down. Fortunately, unless there are damages, it's unlikely the accused could seek damages for malicious legal action.
